The motor on the WR is just a better motor overall than the euro offerings and more durable and robust ,less fussy .

Now... If only they sold a street version of both this and the 450, they would move more units. Many people, me included, don't have any access to off-road riding areas to ride these things.

So obvious what you say about street dual sport versions. Yamaha, where are they!!?? Yamaha, explain yourself. You have potential customers in bewilderment as to why the wr300r never materialized. Honda did it successfully, why not Yamaha!!??

I think this mobile app is great idea an it should be implemented in other bikes - street also. Engine mapping to adjust the bike to ride souds fantastic. On the other side - I really would love for them to bring back WR250R/X becasue it was street legal and not very demanding in terms of service and maintenece - maybe not as lightweight and powerful as wrf but still very fun bike.

Good vid man. Take some time to learn how to crash though. Hands out in front will see you with broken wrists in no time. Put you hand down for a moment and then roll across the elbow and over the shoulder for a full commando style roll.

Now you're talking my language 😁 Here in muddy, tight and rocky New England 2strokes rule the off-road...But if I had more open area, I'd most likely be on a WR250F

@@MrAdam-kp3en Connecticut has weird DMV rules. Almost all of our trail areas have "road" transit sections. So to ride "legally" our dirt bikes have to have a street legal reg. Because of the rules in this state KTM, Husky and Beta 2strokes(and off-road 4strokes) can be registered easily. The Japanese and boutique brands are another story, they're an expensive and complete pain in the ass to get registered for road use here. So I'm sticking with KTM, Husky or Beta.

I think everyone is waiting on Yamaha to come out with a new WR250R bored to a 300 or 350, but I think this WR250F would be a logical replacement at least here in the U.S. where you can plate it in some states. I just need to find one at a dealer as these do not sit on the showroom for long.

I bought the wr450f a few months ago I ride it in “mild” all day and it’s very rideable. In wild it’ll rip your arms off.. of coarse I had to uncork and get the GYTR ECU to make this possible here in the US… I’m in love with this bike

The F models are straight dirtbikes, so no. The 250R was the dual sport, which they recently discontinued, but hopefully the bring it back after some updates

My wr 250f was road legal from birth, especially easy as it had lights, horn and a brake light. My ktm sxf250 was not born this way but was road registered. I had to add on bits of a wiring loom to get front and rear brakes to operate the rear light, I added a headlight off an excf and a battery horn for the mot. The wr250f was heavier and more entry level for green lanes and endure, whereas the sxf250 was slimmer taller more aggressive and lighter. Any bike can be made road legal in the UK within certain parameters. Doesn't cost much to do it, will need certificate of conformity I believe.

I wonder what the engine status app says about oil change intervals when you baby the bike. I'm interested in TAT-style (that's TET-style to you, Bob) riding and wonder if more relaxed engine use can stretch the maintenance interval enough to make the WR a competitor to the CRF and KLX for multi-week rides. Or do the seat and the height keep it out of consideration, making maintenance intervals irrelevant?
@paintup462 жыл бұрын
Probably. Cycle cruza had his yz450 for a year and hasn’t done anything but oil changes.

This is a proper enduro bike. It's much lighter and faster in the dirt, much better suspension for hard riding on gnarly terrains. It's also significantly more high maintenance and not street legal so forget about touring with it.
