There are lots of us in that situation where the SS increase will actually cost us money starting in January. We can only hope the benefit income limits will also be raised accordingly.

The income limits will go up for snap/EBT on Oct. 1st in WI. The new limit number for single is $2226 and for (2) is $3052. All we can do now is hope SS doesn't go up too much. Hope this helps you out.

Unfortunately yes it's not going to matter what increases you get in EBT food stamps money come January when then increase your social security disability check EBT will automatically deduct it from your food stamps making the raise you get in October completely useless it's like taking 2 step's forward and 5 step's back with are government and EBT

I live in Connecticut and we were approved hot foods only just recently. I didn't even know of the change until I went to Shop Rite last week and above the prepared meals, they had a sign saying "Now EBT eligible". I really don't ever buy prepared foods like that anyway, but it's still nice to have.

For the emergency allotments, you will receive the new max amount in October, if your state is still sending the emergency allotments. In November, it depends if the Public Health Emergency is extended for another 3 months (which is expected), right now the PHE will expire next month.

I am disabled in Ohio and 31 dollars won't make much of a difference. I still have to go to food pantries can't have vegs, fruits, or eggs and meat. I have to eat bread, beans, rice. I need more insulin and high health care. A reasonable person would give a single person would be 100 dollars a week or more.

Hi Everyone, just to clarify: the New Maximum Allotments will take effect in October. ✅If you receive the max benefits for 1 person, you will get a boost from $250 to $281 ✅If you receive the minimum benefit for 1 person, you will get now $23. ✅If your state is still providing the emergency allotments, it is expected you will also get the new max benefits.

This comment is not for seniors or the disabled. Just like the government to reward people that's to dsmn lazy to get a job and another way of punishing those who actually have to work for a living. If you're thinking that I'm pissed about this then you would be correct. Instead of raising the amount that people receive each month why not raise the limit on how much money you can make a month and still qualify for snap? I think in my state if you gross over 1600 a month you do not qualify for food stamps. I friggin gross 2000 a month after taxes I bring home around high 13 hundred. Let's see rent 600 utilities 200 , car and health insurance 165 plus car payment 300 and 80 for gas to get to work for 2wks. So please someone tell me how I'm suppose to eat? Why do the people that work get punished? Why not raise the income amount that you can make and still receive snap? I want to eat too! Its getting to the point where I think about stealing food because I don't have enough money to buy what I need and I hate thinking like that.
