I don’t think they would be able to make it affordable my guess is the starting price would be around 48k just shy of the starting price for a base Tahoe. Let’s not forget the markups dealerships across the country have been charging for new vehicles in this times using the chip shortage as an excuse. If gm decided to mass produce this truck markups wouldn’t be so bad but if it were a limited production expect a dealer to put a premium since a lot of them don’t ask for the msrp. Many people aren’t going to spend that kind of money on a less user friendly version of a full size suv. It would be cool tho but it would be a very niche market to say the least with some pretty well off buyers being the main audience to be able to afford one.

I would love to buy a 2/3 door version ( I actually favor the barn doors) of the Tahoe, this style was my favorite, not to big but big enough and a SS version, I would be in heaven. How many folks need the legnth of an Escalade. Come on Chevy/GM lets make this happen.

When this first came to my attention 8 months ago, well I think my comment says it all. The potential of muscling up the Tahoe the Silverado and of course let's not forget the Corvette, and of the engineering the technology and how all this comes together in these applications is absolutely mind-boggling. A little tweak here and there a little tuning, well you can just imagine. The Tahoe and the Silverado need a speed sensitive rear spoiler not just for looks. The Silverado SS also needs a club cab version so it makes your pick up a little more practical and there needs to be a four-door version of the Tahoe that's a no-brainer. I have a 1996 Tahoe four-door I love my Tahoe and plan on giving it a new life the Silverado SS is exactly how I want the ass end of my 96 to look. Thank you for the inspiration but I think maybe you got the inspiration from me because that's the design I had floating around in my head and you guys picked up on it LOL. In my feeling is the same even more so now hell yes I would buy one I would buy more than one which is what I really need to do because this era of seed internal combustion muscle car supercar is going to go away probably but in my opinion I'm GM's product as well as Chrysler and Ford, are some of the best in the world and affordable for the most part and let's not forget the lower cost of maintenance I love American made vehicles more than ever thank you industry thank you GM

I'm still clinging to my mid-90's...Last year of the BIG Ford Bronco - (yes, I know you guys are big G fans - not a problem for me)...the point is, a 2DR performance "personal hauler" is a dream I keep on dreamin'. I might be inclined to even cross the (for the 1st time in my life) line, to entertain the idea of getting a GM truck. ...The resurrected - baby Bronco jus' don't do it for me, If I decide to run over a tree - instead of going around it... I need the extra power!

IMO in order for it to be an SS it would need the LT4 Platform. My 19 RST with the L86 was plenty fast when it was bone stock. Brembo front brakes, magnetic ride control and the 6.2 paired with the 10L90 is quite a combo in an suv already.

I would buy one for sure! Always loved the 2 door Tahoe. If it looked like that one it would sell. Unlike the ford Bronco where they released the Concept Bronco Image and then released something else. That was a big let down. Being a SS it needs a supercharger like the old SS trucks..

Count me in! Looking to buy next year. This would probably still be priced around $120k but much less than the Caddie V. I'm not dragging around a bunch of kids either but would love a beefed up suv! I do have an XL GSD, so I'd appreciate the rear window to have the ability to roll down. And maybe a built-in wide doggie ramp that'll slide within the underside. Oh, and the large LED infotainment system. Gotta have tech!

Very proud owner of a revamped and completely restored 97 2door Sport 4x4 with the barn doors. I love my Tahoe more than any other truck in my driveway and that includes a 2011 Cummins and a 96 Landcruiser. Best looking Tahoe ever in my opinion when its the 2 door.

I agree with you, but they should have both. The only change to the Tahoe SS is what I stated above. Instead of a true 2 door, the Tahoe SS should have a half, suicide door that only can be opened once the driver or passengers door is opened. From the outside there is no handle and you can barely tell there is a door there. Just like the back doors on the Silverado extended cabs. This way when needed there would be easy access for a rear passenger to get in or out, load some light cargo, the family dog, or some groceries or light packages without having to squeeze inbetween the front seat to get access to the back seat. Those extra doors are barely noticeable and it would retain the sporty 2 door look. The Tahoe SS in that configuration would appeal to the guy who's Tahoe is his everyday vehicle, and or has a family etc. The true 2 door short cab Silverado SS in my opinion should really have a short stepside bed. That would really give it a sporty look and stance. In that configuration I think it would appeal to the single guy or person who owns the truck as a second pleasure vehicle.

What they should do instead of the 2 door is add half doors with no handles on the outside that can only be opened when either of the main doors are open. Kind of like the doors on an extended cab Silverado. This way it will still have the sporty 2 door look, but the convenience of a 4 door for easy access to the back seats for passengers or cargo.

I have a 97 2 door Tahoe Sport 4x4. It has been completely rebuilt and upgraded with full brushguards, rear bumper, line-x paint and heavily massaged 5.7 and upgraded transmission/suspension/brakes. I love this truck so much. Low tech, easy to work on, and in my opinion 90s OBS Chevy's are the best looking trucks on the road. While I wouldn't buy a new Tahoe SS I would be very excited to see a 2 door brought back. There is a market. I have offers all the time of 25k-35k for mine which considering I bought it for 4500 and only dumped about 12k in parts and 3k for paint (did all the work myself except paint).... Not a bad return on investment at all.
