Your little girl is just too cute you all will have your hands full in about 15 years if not sooner. Just slap that pie on that plate LOL. Another great Video family Mahalo. We just got back at 2:00 in the AM this morning. Fished until it was to dark to see last night. Had a coyote rolled right up on us right when we we're leaving the Shepard creek sand trap. Could barley make him out. By the time I grabbed a flshlight and a coaxer he split. A wise policey considering my main passion. The fishing was slow for us this trip but always fun. We each caught two about the size of the ones in your video. You're spot on about the rewards of a little patience. My Brother who doesn't get out much kept wanting to move from place to place even when they we're biting wherever we were at WTH frustraiting! The best way to describe him would be the Alan character from 'Two and a half men.' I think I know where your honey hole is at, a man fishing close to us at Silver Lake told us about it. Might check it out next time. The West side of @#&%* lake right? Anyway, pretty sure I'm going back up mid June by my lonesome I anticipate better results.

Appreciate you watching the videos! I feel like I have my hands full with the little one right now lol. Back at home she’s pretty defiant and doesn’t like to listen. She’s in the terrible 2s stage. It was a pretty fun trip for us, lots of decent action. I want to get back out there asap. Most likely the fall but would be nice to get another trip soon. Good luck when you get out there in June. Let us know how it goes!

Hi Cary, it looks like you parked at the T intersection. You can also walk through the meadow trail, from there, to the shoreline and fish your way up to your honey hole. Fish move up and down that shoreline all day, and you never know when or where on that shoreline you'll find them. You won't need to walk all the way up the road to your spot, plenty of fish closer to your car. We wade out beyond most of the weeds and cast mini jigs and minnows. Also Kastmasters. Sometimes you catch 5 pounders but mostly stockers. The landing raises their own giant trout on the end of the dock, and release a few every week, which hang out near the dock or move up and down that shoreline between the dock and the big rock formation. Floating nightcrawler and pink mice tails work great for bait and wait, too. Shoreline is shallow but drops quickly and gets 30 to 60 feet deep quickly. We'll go up there next month, but hope to go again in the fall for the colors. Hard now as I am caring for my 102 year old dad.

Thanks for watching! Usually we do walk through that part close to where we park but it was flooded with water so we had to walk a little further this time. I’m planning to go back during the fall as well to catch the fall colors. Always a beautiful time to be there. Would be nice if I can get back out there again soon though. I really want to get into the perch bite at Crowley. That’s amazing your father has lived such a long life. Mine just passed away in February so it has been really hard on me and the family. Just trying to heal everyday. Almost didn’t make it up to the opener until a last minute decision. Literally lost all motivation to do anything. I keep him in my heart and move forward. I wish good health and love to you and your family. Thanks for always tuning in.

@@ExploreNaturesCatch Sorry about your dad, Cary. I know what it is like to lose a parent, mom passed in 2019. What helped me was going up to the Sierra and while I fished, mostly I just sat in a chair beside Convict Lake, Silver Lake and June Lake, staring at the water, the sky and clouds, with the cool breezes. Thought about my mom and the hundreds of times we went fishing together as a family, and before long, I felt a lot better. The pain of loss never goes away completely, but remembering the good times in places you spent with your loved one really helps. Just the lake or stream, quiet time to think and remember the good times.

Great video, Cary, and loved the underwater shots. We've fished your honey hole since the 1960s, both from shore and from a boat. That big rock formation has another good spot that has a chunk of rock that looks like a finger pointing downward. We anchor the boat twenty yards away and limit out often. Your honey hole is also great on many trips, but nothing is a lock. Waders are a must with all those weeds in the water. Catching fish is great, but for us, we need the beautiful vistas, clean, pine-scented air and majesty of the Sierra, to recharge our batteries and souls. There has been a family of deer in that same spot since I've been a kid, glad you got to see them.
@ExploreNaturesCatch7 ай бұрын
Thank you. It was my first time fishing that spot. I just randomly stumbled upon it. Instant action when I got there though. Definitely a lot of weeds. I completely understand about recharging the batteries out in nature. I take moments throughout the day to appreciate and take it all in. I’m hoping to get back out there again sometime in the fall to get pictures of the foliage.

Nice videos! How often do you head out to Mammoth? I’m going Memorial Day weekend, any tips ?
@ExploreNaturesCatch7 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! Usually a few trips during the season. If the mammoth lakes basin is accessible and the lakes are thawed I would fish George, Mary, Mamie. If it is I’m sure all the fish are going to be pretty hungry. Get the first shot at them after the ice has melted. I usually walk the shoreline around lake George and more often than not I see them cruising close to the shore. I’ve hiked into those lakes when the road was still closed but the lake was thawed and did really well. Good luck and let us know how you do!
