The 3rd row seats in the EV9 are actually incredibly comfortable, spacious and equipped- ventilation, heated seats, ceiling lights cupholders, USB all in the third row! I was at an unveiling in the North East of the UK last month.

I never understood why car reviewers place emphasis on the fact a tesla is a fraction of a second faster than an alternative. Its not going to make a difference, even in emergency situations. Its fast enough.

I tested the Model X in June and in my opinion the biggest problem are the missing Park Distance sensors. The fact that you buy a car for around 110k€ (Germany) without working distance sensors is an absolute no go. So I orderd a EV9 a few days after the books where open for around 76k€ (my dealer gives me a 10% discount). I was told that the ride quality should be harder and less bumpy in European an US Markets. Btw big thanks for the review!

Lol!! Sht, i know how to drive. I been parking and backing up for decades, long before all these fancy technical components came along that tells you how to do it. This kind of technology belongs to you all who were born with it. The real problem with an EV is they simply need to be improved. I would really like to buy an EV but i need a full size, luxury EV. One that you plug in and charge from 0 to 100 percent in 7 minutes or less, (not hours), the same amount of time it takes me to fully fuel. An EV that gives me a range of a minimum of 500 plus miles which gives me the ability to keep moving! Come out with an EV like this and i will be more than happy to buy one. Till then i will keep my jaguar XJl. It takes me about 7 minutes or less to fuel and that includes running in and grabbing a coffee. Range is 515 miles which supersedes any EV and needed for long distance over the road travels. Until the so called mighty United States of America finally develops in highspeed bullet train technology which is also, (fully electric), we have to rely on the car and a short downtime and a long range is key. The most important thing in a long distance over the road travel is being able to (keep moving) and im really sorry to say but th e EV dosent offer you this fine ability. Till they improve them, you can keep them.......

@@carlsmith5545 You laugh at people who 'need' parking assist (you don't 'need' it, it's to make it easier - like every technology we have is there to make things easier), I laugh at people who need a car to have a range of 500+ miles. When do you drive 500 miles in one sitting? And would you, after 500 miles, really fill it up for 7 minutes and continue? That's an 8 hour drive with no break, then 7 minutes and another 8 hours of driving? Nah, give me a car that does 300 miles. I don't drive 300 miles a day and can charge at my house. I don't care it takes 8 hours at home. I gotta sleep anyway. And on a road trip, starting with a full battery, I'll be taking a break after 150 miles. Okay, I could swap with the passenger, (s)he could do another 150 miles and then we'd really have to charge - I don't mind a 40 minute break at a fast charger. I need a charge myself by then! It's a mindset. In specs, yes, it is a downgrade. In practicality, not so much. And with a fast charger, you see cars charge 100 miles in 10 minutes. Should be enough. If you really want to break records in quickest road trip without breaks, an EV is not the car for you. For the rest of the world, it'll just be fine.

@@ARandomNick Yeah i do. See im a car and driver man. Always was. Yes, 3 times a year I drive through the night when everyone is home and out of my way from Lancaster Pennsylvania to Jacksonville Florida which is a distance of 831 miles. Yes i stop one time to fully fuel my Jaguar XJl which takes me about 7 minutes and im up and out. I love to drive, it's rewarding. But everyone is different. Some people hate to drive and rather take a bullet train and,...oh that's right, bullet train technology dosent exsist in the mighty United States of America which is also fully electric. Yeah i drive. But im not taking no short range car to do it. I sold my buick lacrosse hybrid because it had a range of 408 miles. I got the Jaguar XJl because not only is it a full size luxury automobile which tesla dosent even make but, gives me a range of 515 miles and ofcourse its a sharp looking car. Driving is a joy for me and not sitting around like some kid in time out.

This comparison about build quality of the EV9 and ride comfort isn't quite fair, it's a much cheaper car than the model X. Yet that same price difference shows that it has better value in other ways. Overall a bit of a lopsided and difficult comparison given the different price segments. No one who can afford and wants a car as expensive as the model X will settle for the EV9.

Interesting that she never mentioned range. Range is KING when picking out an EV. The Model X Long Range is EPA rated for 348 miles, and has AWD. The longest range EV9 is the the mid tier RWD model, and only gets 304 miles. 44 miles difference may not sound like much, but thats a HUGE difference.

You know, I stumbled upon this video discussing the Tesla Model X, and I gotta say, it's refreshing to see someone talking about the downsides that most folks might not be aware of. I mean, sure, we all love cool tech stuff, but sometimes, too much tech can be a bit overwhelming. What got me thinking was how Tesla's steering wheel controls are a big deal. They're pushing us to change how we're used to driving, especially in the city. Now, I get it; innovation is cool, but when you're navigating through city streets, simplicity often wins the day. At the end of the day, we're all different, and it's all about finding what works best for each of us. Tesla's Model X could be a dream for some, but it might not fit the bill for others. The car market's full of options, and that's a good thing. We just need to find the one that makes our daily drives a breeze.

Here in Finland a metallic Black Model X with level 1 autopilot(parking summon etc, but not with the full spec autopilot with stop sign recognition etc) upgrade, 22" wheels and 7-seater configuration racks up to over 140k euros. A EV9 fully loaded (absolutely everything added from the price sheet) 7 seater sits just under 90k euros. 50k euros difference for KIA being cheaper. It's pretty ridiculous percentagewise. + atleast in Finland tesla will just f you up in the bottom if you wanna trade in a car. They pretty much murder you on the trade in value, even for their own teslas. In terms of features the model X will feel like a peasants car. Missing all the V2L funcitons, all the seat comfort and warranty perks. Its pretty clear that the big fat EV segment has a new king. Hands down.

The one thing I think you missed on with the one pedal regenerative driving is it gets really annoying to always have your foot on the accelerator unless you're coming to a stop. Also, regenerative braking isn't efficient as coasting, and you really should be coasting more. That's why I much prefer the paddle shifters of the Kia/Hyundai EV's. I have them on my Rav4 Prime, and it's just in every way so much better than one pedal driving.

I feel like with the shape of the EV9 they could've made the rear doors a sliding door...or make it even more unconventional, make just the passenger side a sliding door and a regular door on the other side.

As a car I like the EV9 more, as a tinkerer and tech guy I like the Tesla more. Both however are to expensive. I feel like I would get a lot more from a similarly priced gas guzzler. I just don't trust the pricing, especially with all the things Tesla did in the past year.

S & X body styles can be tweeted but they are classic styles that should remain consistent to the original design. Like the Porsche 911 their designs are the legacy of Tesla. They should just make new models to satisfy people that think they look old. The EV9 looks like a square tradition SUV with some square panels. This design will look old in a couple years. Great designs grow on you and the ones that catch you attention at the get go are just catchy and not stylish. My two cents. 😊

lol there is no comparisons between the EV9 and the Model X. If you drive both, the X will win hands down. If you want a car that likely have less issues then go with the EV9. The model X is over engineered and there are more things that can go wrong ex: falcon wing doors etc. But for the fun factor and the amazing tech, the Model X is on another league

2:29 lol, it's a basic rectangle. Nothing special at all. The X is shaped the way it is because of efficiency. It's swoopy, and sporty, and glides through the air. The Kia is a brick.

I have a '22 Model S LR, waiting for my Model X LR in 2 weeks with a reservation for a CyberTruck. Coming from ICE vehicles and also looking at other EV's Tesla won hands down! It has all to do with SuperChargers when driving long distances, also NO SERVICE like other EV's. I've had my share of service centers and swore never again will I spend $1,8k a year and wait in their showroom for over 4 hours.

@@kpsher367 My Tesla Model S LR which I now had it for 2 years has not seen the service center or my face. Tesla Mobile Service came to my house to rotate the tires once, I wasn't here so I left the car outside for him to take care of it. He called me on my cell to see if I needed anything else or have questions and sent me a picture after pulling into the garage with HomeLink.

What type of suspension does the tester like? I have to look at more of her reviews to see. An SUV with a boxy shape is more functional. The X has the usual Tesla shape. The interior of the Tesla is OK but I see no big deal in driving a computer on wheels. I'd rather have a car. I've like the ride quality of Kia and Hyundai's I've been in so I'm not sure why the EV9 would have ride quality issues.
