Coming from a Puma ST-X line, I disagree about the statement that the Puma is more fun to drive. The Puma has more bodyroll and less feeling in the steering. But that is just my opinion.

You say that the car is a Premium Plus specification. That is wrong. What you actually have there is a Takumi top of the range model with electric driver's seat, flappy paddle gear levers and part suede upholstery. The Premium Plus spec doesn't have that.

FWIW the price difference between the base model and the top of the range is quite steep. About 30% ... This is quite surprising when coming from other brands but I guess it is the price to pay to get everything included except panoramic sunroof.

@@vornamenachname1647 So did I :-) It could depend on the driver - when my wife is behind the wheel, I'd rather sit in the back of LBX than old C-HR. LBX back seats are higher than C-HR's, which is fine for me, but indeed could be a problem for taller people. C-HR has smaller rear door windows, which makes the back a bit claustrophopic, even though the actual dimensions are in favour of C-HR.

If i were to match the price of the Yaris Cross with the same equipment with the LBX it would cost your around 10% more to get the LBX, but you would get a stronger engine, better sound isolation, better infotainment and interior design etc. which is well worth the 10% extra for me. Edit: It only gets expensive when going for the extra equipment and features, but the base LBX has everything I need.

@@e.k.8917 You get something way more important. Japanese parts and Japanese build. LBX has about every element different than Cross- battery, suspension, fuel tank, exhausts etc. Even same parts in LBX are made in Japan not Europe which is in most cases big plus. This even goes to thing like bottom plastic cover - look at both. One in LBX is much robust and different. Also things like windows, wipers motors and way how it operates. Different class. Not going to mention interior which is miles apart.
@StuMitch-s2c3 ай бұрын
It is so very much worth the extra! The Yaris Cross is an ugly duckling by comparison and the LBX is way ahead in the quality of the interior. I couldn't get past that shiny cheap plastic inside the Yaris Cross, particularly in the back.
@SOMEONE-ME3 ай бұрын
It looks nothing like Yaris from outside and inside. Not sure what you see similar? Fact that both are cars with 4 wheels? All what it shares is frame and even this is further changed (more glued parts, extra stiffness etc.). Most components are different (eg. very different axle shafts, wich are actually aluminium made) and made in Japan. I really don't get why those YT experts keep talking it's Cross? I don't really recall saying NX is RAV4 or ES is Camry ? It's exactly same here. Fact that Lexus shares frame, engine and other bits with Toyota is nothing bad, but actually good. Lexus always takes Toyota's parts and improves them further (about always Lexus gets checked and proven tech, which sometimes can make it feel outdated). Both cars are miles apart in terms of look, feel and handling (I driven both). Other than this LBX still has about every 'system' found in 2x more expensive RX. This is also reflected in the price. It's not exactly same engine. It has balancing shaft, few internal elements are improved as well, it has different/faster ECU and different/stronger battery (can provide way more current when needed). This translates to better dynamics and more responsiveness. Those 136hp are nothing like 136hp in petrol/diesel car as responsiveness in city is amazing (only pure electric cars feel even better). This is due to addition of almost 100hp electric motor and its instant torque. Turning off annoying safety system in Lexus is on the easy side as it has special menu which shows most often used options. This means 2 touches to disable eg. speeding alerts.

I’m sorry but it is impossible to argue anything other than the LBX is based on the Yaris Cross. It would not exist if the Yaris Cross didn’t. And yes, the same applies for the NX and RAV4. The same applies to the Golf, A3, Octavia, Leon etc. I don’t think I said at any point that it being based on the Yaris Cross was a bad thing. The Yaris Cross is a good car. If you have to explain all the minute differences between the cars, you’re really accepting the huge similarities the cars have. The conclusion was that it’s worth the extra money because of the subtle differences. Not sure how you can really complain about that?
@SOMEONE-ME3 ай бұрын
@@BuckleUpShow They share platform and base of hybrid system. Even those are more or less modified. That's about it. Rest is miles apart- just put two next to each other and look at components. Do you have information that Cross platform was made just for it and later Toyota got idea to make LBX? I assume in most cases Toyota knows what models will use given platform and this is carefully planned from the moment they start designing a new platform.
@BuckleUpShow3 ай бұрын
I’m really not sure what point you’re trying to make here. Lexus’ own press material talks about how it’s related to the Yaris Cross, but also how it isn’t. At no point have I said this is a badge engineered car, it’s just unequivocally based on the Yaris Cross. Lexus have merely modified it to make it more Lexus. Some changes are bigger than others, but it is not a ground up Lexus is my point.
@SOMEONE-ME3 ай бұрын
@@BuckleUpShow How is NX then if it shares platform, engine etc with RAV4? NX is as much RAV4 as LBX is Cross. I’m not saying it’s not based on Cros, just that it’s basically same share as other Lexus models. I assume you know that famous Toyota mechanic from US who keeps talking about those ‘shares’ between Toyotas and Lexuses. Even if it’s not Lexus from the start it’s far from being Toyota as well.
