Hi Tish,, This is for me, a GREAT car from Lexus and great to hear they have produced colours that are more up to date, excellent. An excellent video as is your standard Tish, thank you. You mention that Lexus are aiming this at the younger sector, whilst I cannot claim to be one anymore this car would suit me to a T, great looks, fabulous interior etc. There is one point re pricing, I noticed the starting price from just under £30k, however, for the upgraded models and with Politicians consistently persecuting the motorist, ie the added 5 year tax on cars costing £40k and more, I would hope that Lexus have pitched this car under that threshold for the top model. I agree. Very smart inside and out. It looks very well executed which is what I'd expect. I would definitely consider this. I know from experience that the Toyota hybrid tech is very effective and very efficient in the real world. One small thing though, I'm not sure how these quite large wheels and low profile tyres would stack up on rubbish roads. Would rather have smaller wheels and high profile tyres.

We traded our BMW X3 for a Lexus NX450H+ in March and we love it. Rarely need to add petrol. We have ordered an LBX in red with a black roof with the highest specification and that includes 4WD. The car is just to go to the supermarket and short journeys around town (Sunshine Coast of Queensland). We have been told to expect about 4l/100km and that is fine for the small annual travel as a second car. A really nice advantage of having 2 Lexus is that the turn indicators are on the same side and all the instrumentation is the same. This allows us to ditch our little Citroen C3 2021 to the first of our 4 grandchildren.

If you are referring to giving the Citroen away -we want our grandchildren to have new cars that are up to date and safe compared with the cars we had at 17. The NX is a good size for highway driving but it is bigger than we like for town driving. I think it is good use of money.

Staff are being trained on the car in Sydney this month so numbers are just coming available. I am looking forward to a test drive in the not too distant future although I don’t need convincing.. $63,743 including registration and stamp duty in QLD. Delivery is forecast for August but I will not be surprised if the delivery is delayed. The car is LBX Sports Luxury 1.5L Hybrid Auto CVT SUV (4714610 C0 FA21 2TB 001) Rich Ruby Two−Tone. Upholstery is Black/Dark Gray Suede (Comb).

I’m six foot tall and sat in this car at the dealership yesterday: it’s the first time I’ve been in a 4 seat car that I’ve ever had to have the seat in it’s furthest back position to get comfortable in. I only have 31 inch legs. There was almost no legroom left in the back. I liked the look of until that point as it’s not really practical enough for 4 normal sized adults.

I have a Yaris cross, it handles well and isn’t as noisy as people make out, the Lbx 9:17 does look nice though, afaik it doesn’t come with a split boot floor so there’s a high lip to lift stuff over

I test drove the LBX sports luxury 2wd. Virtually every reviewer didn’t mention the internal door opening safety system. Using the blind spot monitoring tech, the car will not let an occupant open a door if there is chance of being hit by cars coming up from behind. The LBX has good acceleration despite a relatively small engine. The change from EV driving to ICE startup is a bit jarring. You can’t see how good the paint work is from KZbin. It really is next level quality.

That’s a very difficult decision, as I think the car with White 🚘 bodywork looks very similar to the GR Yaris, which in my opinion is a good thing! However, I absolutely love sonic copper and think it stands out from anything else on the road. Very tough choice and sorry for not being able to make a decision.

It almost looks perfect for me mostly lone driving around town, to and back from work etc..The only things are: It looks a bit too low as compared to other SUV; it didn't look sporty enough to attract a young trendy executive like me and the colour scheme is just normal like most others. @@AutoSocialUK I went for a test drive yesterday, it's better than the Yaris Cross but I still couldn't get fully comfortable. Wasn't cramped, just that the adjustments didn't really cover how I sit. Either I couldn't see the dash because of the steering wheel, or my left elbow would be at an awkward position. Got into a UX and it was almost instantly perfect. But the UX is a bit pricier and has somewhat poor practicality imo(small backseats and trunk, poor visibility outside - really bad for motion sickness, especially in a car that rides so smooth) I feel bad because I like how it drives, but I'm not sure the price is worth the compromises.

It really is a great car for its segment, and will sell quite well i think. It is not much more expensive than the Yaris Cross, yet it is more refined, it is FASTER, and more luxurious. I would definitely buy it if i was in the market for one. Living inside a city and not having children means that this car is perfect. No need to choose between huge premium behemoths or small cheapish cars. I am surpsised more Premium manufacturers do not offer similar cars, there is only Audi A1 all street that is going to retire, and then, what, a Mini? That's about it.

I'm curious if the extra noise dampening makes it a good highway commuter, since the Yaris is not known for being a quiet car. If you only need to commute by yourself or 1 extra person, this segment makes a lot of sense. And german brands charge you more by the time you option out everyhing that's base on the Lexus.

I was going to ask about the lower screen and you beat me to it. It’s fine if just radio and aircon but when navigating I can’t stand the “head bob” Merc I think were one of the first with two high screens but they too have gone this route which I think is as big a mistake as removing real buttons. In my opinion, a real Lexus is.... not the LBX😂 It's actually the RX 500h F Sport. 366bhp is hard to beat! Right off the bat: the colour. Lexus is legendary for its exterior design, and they always manage to pick the right colors to go with it, like this Carmine Red, or some places calls it Ruby Red. Now ma'am, do NOT be hating on the Yaris Cross😂 that lil bugger is selling like hot cakes in Trinidad, and it's beating the Nissan Kicks BADLY! This car is more or less the same thing, but with luxury of course, so Toyota is kinda competing against themselves here. Will this LBX be the new King of subcompact SUVs, or will the Yaris Cross continue to rule? Great review, Tish.

Corolla Cross Hybrid AWD sells for about the same price, has better performance, more room and drives better than Lexus LBX. The quality and reliability of Toyota and Lexus is similar. I dont see a lot of reasons to buy Lexus LBX.

Umm.., Lexus making the engine a lot better compared to Yaris Cross is Toyota speak for ‘we’ve given it more power and to keep fuel economy decent the EV battery is bigger so it can run in EV longer’. If they really wanted to do this well they would have dropped in the 1.8 hybrid drive train. It’s still a Yaris Cross underneath. All the marketing smoke over cross platform use fools very few customers anymore. They should just show the build quality step up from the Yaris Cross to sell this car.., job done!

Its not a re- badged Yaris Cross at all. The hybrid drivetrain has been re-engineered with different battery tech, the platform modified with a longer wheelbase, different interior, body etc. It's also built by Lexus rather than rolling off the Toyota Yaris Cross production line.
