These are great machines had the very first one from 2009 and a later 2014 the main difference was stiffer brush on the later and the hose moved from centre to one side of cleaner head, Cant believe they’re still making these machines but general design not broken then don’t fix just update the brush bar , I have sold them off for a Dyson but I’m tempted by this, good video as always 👍🏽

Glad you found it helpful! The button next to the on switch is the brush control - switch the brushbar on for carpets, or brushbar off for hard floors and delicate carpeting

Hi , I'm new subscribers and enjoy your content . I have a dilemma with the choice of vax vacuum as there's some sales and can't decide which to buy . Which of those would be a best buy ? Cleaning carpets full of long hair All brand new : 1.air stretch pet max (£108) 2.air lift steerable max pet (£113) 3.air lift 2 pet plus (£113) Or second hand Dyson dc40 £98 Or maybe you'll have other suggestions? Edit : Will be cleaning fully carpeted (carpet is cheap nasty one) flat with big L shaped living room 7m x 7m x 4m

You are correct the old machines handle was utter rubbish and very uncomfortable to use. Your old version had the same problem as mine. I have replaced 2 handles over its service time so far. great cleaner I have to say.

which vacuum would you say is the best for deep pile carpets, weve had dysons before and then a Gtech air ram which we loved and Shark duo clean which we feel is a bit to bulky like our old dysons and our latest aquisition was a Gtech hylite which is great but we want something beefier to replace the Shark with.

I would say the newest Dyson Ball UP32 or the Sebo X7 for deep cleaning on carpets, Shark is overall good, but they don’t deep clean as good as a Dyson or Sebo upright The Dyson UP32 I find is nicer and lighter in use compared to the Shark uprights because the heavy components are located on the ground (unlike Shark which has the motor unit higher up away from the floor along with the bulky heavy hose hanging out the top) The Sebo X7 is also great for this because all the weight is on the floor, the upper housing of the vacuum feels lightweight

Hi, here’s a few things to consider: Vax air works better on low pile carpets and has a longer cord (shark has a shorter cord) Shark does hard floors better and has an easier to use hose, but the vax air requires a bit of assembly to use the extension hose Vax air has technology that keeps the filter cleaner for longer, shark doesn’t have this so the filters need to be cleaned more often Shark is a little bit easier to empty though as all the dirt drops out in one go, vax will need a bit of shaking to empty all the dust out They’re both very good choices Shark brushbar doesn’t turn off like the vax on hard floor mode, the brush just slows down Shark has a liftaway mode, the vax is just an upright hoover I feel like I wouldn’t be able to recommend one over the other without knowing the cleaning environment but both are good vacuums with different great features and flaws. I personally prefer the Vax because it requires less maintenance and is so powerful, but for ease of use the Shark wins (as long as you can keep the filters clean often) Hope this helps!

Yep! The bristles aren’t much stiffer than the original, only slightly more, but I am fussy hence why I was able to notice it 😂🤣

The VAX Air Stretch Vacuum cleaner is like a child’s toy!! After you have vacuumed a couple of rooms either the dust container is full or the filter needs cleaning. Easily the worst vacuum cleaner we have ever owned!

Perhaps your carpets are deteriorating from the bottom of it which means either the vacuum is set too powerful which you might need to change the suction of it or you need new carpets or your old vacuum wasn't cleaning it properly before you had this one. ❤
