Compared to F22 as an air dominance fighter SU57 and J20 are jumk. In combat F22 would lock on to them, launch its fire and forget missiles and fly a different course far beyond the the distance where the enemy could detect it.

He talks about it like it's the new model year like a car. The F22 program was stopped long ago and has to start again from scratch, assuming they actually do try to build more. It will take years just to get production off the ground. It will cost zillions.

Its not ever starting up again. It's getting very expensive lethal upgrades. New stealth coating. New missiles new helmet mounted queuing system New stealth fuel tanks to extend range New computers and data link to communicate with F35.

Uh, even regular fighters can engage from miles away. The AIM series of guided missiles have a range of 100 miles and then some.

F-22 is nolonger in production. China has 300 J-20s and adding 100 per year. Quality is nonstop improving. J-20, J-20A, J-20B, J-20S. J-20B use WS-15 engine with the max thrust 18000kg and make it flying faster than F-22. Also, with longer range missiles and better radar. You think an improved fip phone can beat an IPhone?

Sophisticated weapons great ,survival great , how about quick sorties to fight , enemies, reliability , how reliable are the systems, rugged ,? Quick turn around …..That’s what needs bragging about…… lots here to go wrong. Sophisticated technology definitely needed, but so is taking a licking and KEEP on ticking.

It only makes sense to modernized the F22 Raptor, because it's younger cousin is too slow for faster jet fighters like J20 & also today's missiles defense world makes the F15 & A10 warthog obsolete!

F15 EX is state of the art. Isreal is buying them tge US airforce is buying them a bunch of countries buying them. If modern SAMS are so lethal and so unstoppable how did Isreal just take out Iran's missile sites and come home with zero losses.

For it's era , the YF23 ( Black widow?) was superior, The Russians are way ahead and probably China is getting there. When YF22 was presented, it was not the plane it is today.

The expets say China is ahead of Russia. Russia has about 10 Su 57 that can fly and they are afraid to use them over Ukraine. FY 23 lost out. Not superior. It was better in some categories but not overall for what the Air Force wanted. Does it matter that YF23 was not produced? Did we have some big air war where we got our asses kicked because we had the F22 instead?

Russia way ahead???? They have around 10 SU57 that can get off the ground. India backed out of SU57 they didn't like it didn't want it. Experts say not very stealthily. 180 F22 1000 F35 produced. Russia is ahead how? Please explain to the rest of us exactly how Russia is ahead.
