I find it super handy to build farms with snow blocks and build a snow block farm or 2 near the build. Even better with the Auto crafter now. Super easy to get blocks that way and you can afk for more blocks if needed

If you alternate buttons and trapdoors on ceiling and floor, {trap doors over buttons} I think you don't need the pillars, that should stop spiders iirc

Awesome build! Looks great and clearly works well. Nice design work by Prowl. I am a little concerned about the pranks. Enjoyable, yes. Until you suddenly find yourself having to spend time undoing the pranks before being able to play the game. I love the by-play between you both when together but I would hate to see the pranking become an issue for either of you.

@@WaynesWorld69 💯 agree. I can appreciate the occasional well timed/well executed prank but I don't love the idea of either getting bogged down with constant prank side quests. I hope people remember that even a 30 minute cleanup has a much more negative impact on a creator who has a few hours a day to accomplish their goals vs a full time creator. I truly hope they find a good balance so it stays fun for everyone.

I used prowls design as well. I think it’s just a bug in the system because it allows drowned to spawn for some reason. Idk why. But the rates are still awesome with the added benefit of additional tridents and copper

First. You made a few improvements over prowl's. Which I have one of his smaller version built. And those improvements answered a couple of my curiosities. Second. I also have had the same Xtra drops as you. And if I had to guess. I would say prowl has also. He just "forgot" to mention them hahaha. It seems like it's a random skeleton and a random drown. That spawn every so often. And I have also double checked my many times

Also have you tried coral fans on every second level, i saw it on another tutorial from Oare. Mobs will deliberately pathfind to a coral fan 3 blocks lower than the platform they are on

I believe you missed a spot. Same happend to when I built based on Prowl's design. I used buttons too. Maybe try an entity x-ray resource pack to locate the spot. It would have been easier if you had used buttons with contrasting color.

I'm going to do one last thorough check of every singe spawn space in the farm to make sure. And yea, it would have been better to have contrasting resources...unfortunately - I didn't have the excess resources of anything beside stone to pull this farm off in a timely manner. And it STILL took me 2 weeks to get this video done! lol

I am curious, if you placed a cat in the middle of each platform, to scare the creepers off the edge, would you get any better rates? Considering building a smaller version, and am hoping I can decrease the time to kill to compensate for fewer spawn locations

Would it effect the farm if i built one large platform with water pushing into the middle rather than 4 and do this on both sides having only two trident killers?

You could definitely scale it back to 1 trident killer, or 2. However, it will likely slow down the rates, depending on where the creepers fall. Creeper farms are all about getting them to the trident killer (or magma floor if you go that route) as fast as possible to clear the mob cap, allowing more to spawn. Water moves mobs slowly...so...the shorter distance they have to travel to the drop chute, the better. But yea, you could scale it back for sure if you don't care about the rates.👍

Mobs don't pathfind over buttons. Trapdoors work, but you risk them getting stuck on a trap door when they fall. Best bet is coral fans.

Buttons slow the spawns but not stop same with using them as path blocks they use it eventually just not as fast as trap doors and not a single thing I've done to try and stop spiders to spawn works they always get through even tested it on a single tan grass path blocks and they spawn on it only if there is a covered spawn block next to it tested coving it with trap doors buttons coral fans carpets even just a leaf block and they always spawn with there are a 1x2 of blocks as long as just one is a full block regardless of witch is covered

Its not a big deal, at this scale of creeps farm, to have a few things to toss to the ocean. A full shulker of rockets is ALWAYS the end game. It takes basically a little more than forever to run 1k blocks, soooo flying is...yeah you beat the game. Im never making many trap doors again. Just buttons. Also, bedrock has a weird glitch of hostile mobs just spawn whenever, however, sometimes. So please dont beat yourself up over the stupid glitches that you cant control.

I think bigger is always better! :) And don't get me wrong, 3k is not slow at all! It's quite enough to get all the GP for any practical purpose. It's enough and then some! The most efficient creeper farms for 1.21 use nowadays 100% of spawnable space, and have no loss due to spider spawn proofing or drop chutes etc. Those layouts just use all the blocks for spawning. In this design I can see that a lot of blocks are used for spider proofing or drop chutes. That decreases the spawnable area available. Of course, we can just make it a bit larger to compensate! No problem. But we could use a layout that is more efficient and make either a smaller farm for the same effect, or double the rates with about the same size structure. Oh, well, again, don't get me wrong... it's quite fast enough as-is! As long as we get all the drops we need the farms are doing just FINE. :D
