@@howardklatsky5016My 4Runner has a 3" Old Man Emu suspension lift. The tires are 285/70/17 Baja Boss AT on factory rims. I did have to move the inner fender wells forward and trim a bit of the plastic for clearance on the front. I also removed the front mud flaps. I didn't have to do a body mount chop. They are reasonably quiet and I have 36,000 miles on mine and they are still pretty quiet and balanced.

Can’t wait to see how people deal with the double handlebar in the after market. That needs to go. Generally I really like the design. It looks like an updated 4th gen which I always thought was ahead of its time design wise. Still think I prefer the Land Cruiser First Edition looks wise but not sure I’d pay the premium for basically the same vehicle. Everest is one of the most beautiful colors I’ve seen from Toyota. Right up there with Solar Octane. Would love to be able to get the paint matched flares on the Off Road trims. Looks clean.

@alfonsoavila54928 күн бұрын
I use to be in the same boat as you. I don’t see a double stache anymore. Now I see a nose, and a handlebar mustache instead. I think they absolutely killed it with the looks! Funny enough, the TRD pro, TRD off road, and trail hunter look significantly better to me that the rest of the trims.
@thedarkestrainbow8 күн бұрын
@@jeffp5418 I think the front end on the Taco is much better. If they had just ported that over, or given us something closer to the Sequoia I’d be fine with it. But even the 4th gen has this kind of design language in the front a bit. So if they were going for an update of that I can see how they ended up with this.

😊It'll be interesting for sure. I'm a yota fan boy but I loathed my 2022 5th gen sr5 ride and handling. Just dumped it at carmax and good riddance. Hopefully they'll ride better on new platforms. Still have my 2017 camry with 228k on it. Only replaced front brakes last summer first time, 4 sets of tires, oil every 10k. Runs smooth as silk and everything else is untouched , so yota quality is still there. Just not the runner fan personally.
@MrStreetballer5Official9 күн бұрын
Well to be fair, you're comparing a commuter sedan to an off-road focused body on frame SUV. Of course the handling and ride are going to be a bit different. As someone who knew what I was getting into I was overall happy with the 4runner and fixed things that I felt needed to be changed.
@dtlusk249 күн бұрын
@MrStreetballer5Official lol I should of clarified, I've owned other body in frame suvs as well. But this one was by far the worst . Possibly if I had the kdss suspension it might of been different. But this thing and other people I've talked to said the danger thing about the wondering drive going down the highway and constant jostled feeling in an urban area. I prefer longer wheel base vehicles personally. The car info was just to show yota quality is still there as people will say they have taken a drastic downturn in reliability from 90s and 00s.
@kurtburkhardt58628 күн бұрын
I agree with the ride quality on our 2014 4Runner. It is a bit better now that I installed an Old Man Emu suspension lift. Have had Blazer's Explorers with full frames and both rode better than the 4Runner. I do like the quality and reliability. Hoping our Trailhunter, on order rides and drives better. We'll see.
@dtlusk247 күн бұрын
@kurtburkhardt5862 you really shouldn't have to mess with aftermarket to get a silly car to drive decently. Between the wobbly ride on the interstate and the constant effort to avoid nose dives they could of done much better. Time will tell if these items are corrected.

To be fair mine had 113,000 miles on it when I bought it. I upgraded the suspension at 120,000 it has 167,000 now. Drives better, but it is an old design. @@dtlusk24

In my opinion, the 6th Gen 4Runner is a disappointment. I'm speaking more specifically about the 4-liter engine swap and several design shortcomings. Toyota should have made the Lexus GX 550 Overtrail the 6th Gen 4Runner. If you conduct a spec-to-spec comparison between the two models, yeah, the GX 550 Overtrail is more expensive, but if you wrote down your must-haves for the 6th Gen 4Runner, it's hiding in the GX 550 Overtrail spec.
