I see that the redline starts at 7800 rpm in the GTS, versus 8000 rpm in the GT4. I wonder what changes were made in the 4.0L engine, if just an ECU programming or if they used different cams, pistons, compression ratio, etc...the official specs state the 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 can hit 288 km/h, whereas the GT4 goes up to 302 km/h. I guess that difference is kinda big for just 20 extra horsepower.

I'm happy they went back to N/A 6-cylinder. I love how Porsche sometimes goes against the market tendency of downsizing, they did the same with the Cayenne GTS, switching from the 2.9L V6 to the 4.0L V8. And still offering the manual, even better. W00t w00t!!! 😍😈

Foto4Max corvette is an everyday GT/performance car. Not a proper sports car due to it being heavy for a sports car (3750 lbs) when ideally a sports car weighs up to (3300 lbs) or less, rear is 50% heavier than front which creates understeer, has a lot of luggage space and a powerful audio system which turns it into a GT / everyday car.

Car sounds better in Sport Mode. You actually lose sound selecting Sports Plus which is why there's no pops and crackles etc

I traded my 991.2 S for my Boxster GTS 4.0 and have no regrets…the sound, handling and even ride quality are superior. My bride likes the GTS 4.0 better too, so everyone is happy. :)

Hi, love your videos, but this one started in a bad way in my opinion. You say the engine is very similar to the engine of the gt3rs. The only similarities I'm aware of are the displacement (4 liter) and the type (flat 6). The engine in the gt3 range is from the Porsche 911 gt3 race car. The engine in this car is the same engine from the 992 Carrera s, without the turbos and resized to 4 liters

I‘m also torn apart between a used 981 GTS or a new 718 GTS 4.0...the „old“ ones crackles & loudness is simply amazing. But besides the fact that there almost no good used ones available there’s the big advantage of the 4.0 Motor of the new one...it just sings & performs in an entirely new way compared to the new old 3.4 that I‘m tending to that 4.0🤔

@@Automann-TV depends on the kind of driving you do. I'm happy with any car around the 15sec mark 100-200 for driving twisty roads. You'd have a hard time using all the 340hp of the 981 on some nice roads. I've learned for my part that ripping the hell out of a 300hp car is much more fun than using 60% of a super powerful car on public roads. And then, sound is like 80% of driving emotions 😁

@@Automann-TV maybe less power advertised....in the reality same as gt4 engine.../this is sw only we know exactly/ and much less aero...and it can easily couse a better acceleration.. However...both were track tested..and gts is slower with 1.5sec if i am correct...but uses oe pzero trofe tyres..while gt4 has cup2 from the factory.. Would be interesting to compare the suspension elements...😅😅😅

Ok, so maybe I am alone here with this request but... You accelerate on full throttle rarely compared to the time You spend on just driving the car normally. Is it possible to make minute, two minute video with normal driving to see what are the rpm's at some constant speed at higher gears (e.g. 90, 120, 150, 200 on 5th and 6th) ? We could hear better car and wind noises, we could make our opinion actually how good this car is on daily basis. Just an idea...

Well, as a track focused car, it is more capable. It is also much faster (2 seconds on one lap at Hockenheim, partially also due to tyres of course) But the axis, dampers etc are from GT3 range and give you something more for sure, also the aero produces much more downforce. The look is also quite nice 😉 both will find their buyers, GTS much more easy for everyday use of course. My GT4 is so low 😄
