This video supports a theory I've had that the American music industry deliberately tried to repel ABBA because they were a dangerous precedent for the music industry. ABBA owned their own record label and preferred doing periodic television performances instead of constant touring. This prevented a lot of money to be made by music moguls in America, so they took every opportunity possible to give a negative spin on ABBA. But as Bjorn and Benny have pointed out in the past, constant touring stifles creativity, and we might not have had nearly as good music from them if they approached music like virtually everyone else. Had the American music industry fully accepted ABBA, they would have dominated the charts here as well.

I loved ABBA in 1996 when I had 13 years old, now to date I am 37 years old but I LOVE them even more, because I see myself and I got full CD Albums collection and Deluxe CD with DVD and all live DVD original releases and VHS and their music makes my mood, is scary if ABBA would never happened, I love other groups but Abba is one of a kind, I would love go back in time and feel a live concert, be there! but I am too much away in time for that, thanks for the footage, ♥️ I wonder if they ever played LOVELIGHT song live, what a joy would be that one to hear in an opening concert!! This will be the 40th Anniversary of the peak of the ABBA phenonomen with ABBA appearing at Wembley Arena in Nov 1979 for 5 sold out nights and i saw them twice Once with Tickets and going the night after without and getting in with extra tickets coming available on the night What a amazing end to 1979

I remember the 1st song was Waterloo. I still love that song to this day. 60 years old and still big ABBA fan to this day. The song Eagle is another very good song. Miss my younger days. When my grandaughter is with me. I play Nina Pretty Ballerina for her. Because her name is Nina and likes to dance like a ballerina. She is 5 and very cute. So I say Thank You For The Music ABBA. Still love your musik. Tack.

I wonder if any footage exists of the group performing “One Man, One Woman” in Edmonton? If memory serves, that was the only time that song was ever performed live.

Watching this was pure joy. But also a reminder how even back then journalists had a narrative that had to follow. We’d call this today fake news But even this rather polite narrator end I’d up talking about-what else-money, money, money. No wonder ABBA themselves were tired and reluctant to give interviews because they knew that the money narrative is there. As of then, now it is easy to realize how little role money actually played in ABBA’s career. One of the reasons why their music is so relevant today because everything they did and create was ORGANIC and not at all money driven. BUT WHERE IS THE NEW ALBUM?
