Yeah...About that...Task Manager fails to close programs that actually freeze about half the time. As if that wasn't bad enough, that's assuming you can even turn it on, because for some reason, Task Manager seems to have really low priority for a high-importance program with emergency close functions, so if a program freezes due to memory leak or some such, Windows will never even give Task Manager the time of the CPU's day...

So fun fact: apps like this can have background instances running that don't show up on the taskbar, but if you activate the advanced view for task manager you can see all the secret ones and kill them. That would fix it. Acrobat may be running, but task manager will always catch it.

Unfortunately nowadays they don't even force close tasks anymore unless you search for the task process in a second sub menu. If you force close what you see first it just does a basic close on the program

Task manager is such a good boi. he does what he is told and he does it so well Also pro tip: the reason why CC might see acrobat as open is because some programs (And I suspect acrobat does too) create a temporary file that essentially states "I'm running" when you kill it with TM those programs do not clean up after themselves CC checks for that file and (despite acrobat being killed) finds it therefore thinks acrobat is running. reboot usually clears this you could also turn acrobat on and then off again. I'd imagine that would work too.
