Hello, Thank you for the additional review of the Active 2.3 and foam cannon test. We wanted to take this opportunity to clarify the effect of using smaller orifices in a 15A circuit and the effect on the pressure washer microswitch. In our testing, the 1.1mm orifice draws 18.5A current whilst the 1.25mm draws 17A current. This will not cause the 15A breaker to default over a few seconds of use, but will eventually trip your breaker, as it is a gradual process. You can verify this using an ammeter. Active purposefully provides a 1.45mm aftermarket nozzle included in the packaging of the user manual to be used with all after market foam cannons. This is to ensure the draw of the machine stays below 15A and is safe for the user and the unit itself. Prolonged use of a 1.25mm orifice will wear out the microswitch until a point the unit no longer will power ON. But, not to worry, we are carrying spare microswitch parts and will swap them under warranty. But we strongly advice avoiding 1.1mm and 1.25mm orifices when operating your foam cannon. Instead, swap your orifice for the provided 1.45mm orifice. Similarly, The lowest recommended washing tips are 4.5 orifice tips. Feel free to reach us on [e-mail] for any questions. @@TheCarDetailingChannel I would pick up a wall amp meter on amazon for ~$10 and then test with different foam cannons and different orifices. I am curious now if you can foam a whole car on 1.25 without it tripping? I get mine next week and will test if you haven't.

Wanted to provide some clarification here regarding circuit breakers and their typical tripping characteristics. You're typical household circuit breaker in an electrical panel feeding outlets would be a 15/1 (15A, 1-pole) molded case circuit breaker with an 80% rating. 80% rated circuit breakers are typical in all breakers below 400A, unless a 100% rated breaker is specified, but again, this is VERY uncommon. There are (3) main trip modes in residential branch circuit breakers: (1) Thermal Trip (2) Instantaneous Trip (3) Ground-Fault Trip A circuit breaker will trip due to various situations, but in general we can say: Thermal Tripping- Due to prolonged overloading of the circuit up to and beyond the circuit rating. Remember how I previously mentioned most circuit breakers have an 80% rating? This is where that rating comes into play. NFPA70 defines a continuous load to be one that is running >3HR. If you ran a 15A load on a 15A circuit breaker, you would trip the thermal protection of the breaker around 3 hours of continuous load. 15A * 0.80 = 12A Instantaneous Trip- Due to a sudden increase of current beyond the rating of the circuit breaker. This type of tripping is harder to pin down when the breaker will trip because all circuit breakers are different and even environmental factors such as ambient temperature can affect when the breaker will trip. What we can say is that the current would have to be multiples of the circuit breaker rating to trip the circuit instantly. IE, running 30A on a 15A circuit. Running 17A or 20A on a 15A circuit would probably NOT (but could) trip the breaker for the time duration typically seen using a pressure washer. So, with all of that, I am NOT surprised that the breaker didn't trip when you decreased the orifice on the foam canon as the current would have to jump considerably to trip your branch circuit. I agree with what Active is recommending by putting an ammeter on the circuit. One issue that can happen is over time; constant overloading of the circuit can cause degradation in the wire insulation feeding the outlet, even though the breaker isn't tripping and can become a fire hazard. In summation, electricity is strange. -An Electrical Engineer who can't wait for the Active 2.3 to arrive so I can wash my car!!

@@RussellKasem Thanks for the detailed response if the 1.5 orifice produces good foam I see no reason to not run it. I was only going to run the 1.25 if the foam wasn’t good and the current wasn’t causing issues. But i suspect the 1.5 will be just fine

I just washed Model Y with 75ft smoot kobrajet hose, MTM SGS28 gun , 4.0 / 40° McMillan and foamed with 1.25 MTM PF22.2 cannon 15amp breaker and did not trip. Keep in mind a breaker does weaken up in time when overloaded. My dedicated 20amp should be installed next week. I found the pressure of 4.0 / 40° was just a touch better then the 4.6 /40° it comes with. The foam is excellent and the pressure of water i feel could be a little more powerful ( i felt i liked 25° nozzel better ) and very happy with the results of the Active 2.3. It's my first pressure washer and thought I would start Mid Level with all equipment. Let's just hope reliability is good. Then again its a big bonus that the microswitch can be repaird. ​So far I can say its good purchase. @Rephrased @activeproducts @carswithkeav @russellkasem

Nice !! Looks like Amazing foam for 1.25. I definitely wouldn't risk blowing the PW with 1.1. Hopefully the reliability is good with constant use of 1.25 on foam cannon. Happy to see that kind of foam.

You might want to look at what Active said. Do not use the 1.25 unless you want to risk damage. And from what I have seen, the 1.45 does not make good foam.

You must have a good clean 15amp circuit. Some garages they wire it all together so it might not trip initially, but prolonged use or something in the garage kicking in at the same time might trip it. For some it might be at night when having the lights on. All depends on the circuit.

I have the active 2.0 with the mackillans foam cannon with 1.1 orifice now I’m scare of burn the motor as they claim in one paper that came with the unit I’m gonna have to replace the produce for the 1.25
