a helmet legitimately saved my life when i was 10. i was riding a series of dirt jumps and flew over the handlebars and wound up with a huge hole in my helmet from my head landing on a jagged rock. that was an ambulance trip to the hospital instead of a coroner trip to the morgue. i’d done that trail a hundred times without a problem. then i got unlucky. everyone: *wear a helmet!*

Then there are more intangible things like... What if Scotty and Lisa wanted kids and maybe now Scotty can’t? Even if he can maybe he doesn’t want to be a father in that situation. Even if he does have kids one day, the child will be robbed of having a healthy father. And you think Trey knowing all of this and even more than we know not wearing a helmet is okay? He loves to ride and a head injury is something he is aware of. I just think he would rather ride how he wants for as long as he can than stop riding how he wants and then get injured anyway. It’s his risk to take not yours. I’m the same with skateboarding. A helmet makes me think about the helmet and takes focus away. Its a kit lens so likely no. It was a one mold component that goes on at the factory. A camera shop may be able to replace the ring but it'll likely cost $100+. I'd say just look online for a new kit lens at the same focal lengths as the one you broke.

Tried to frontside 5.0 a real wide halfpipe (trying to grind a long distance) and slipped out and wacked my head on the coping. The fact I was wearing a helmet is probably the only reason I'm still here. Later in life, I ride a bmx... mostly trails. The rule still applies.
