It's wet not dusty. Eye protection the only thing really important. And really it won't damage your eyes just burn like a mofo. Concrete finisher 4 years. Also it hurts to watch these guys use their trowels backwards and fail to give it the scraping motion it requires to fill holes like you see here: 7:29 Edit: to add time-stamp
@MrKlukie3 жыл бұрын
@@RandoManFPV I believe that it's wet, but is there still no risk of inhalation? I'm obviously uneducated here, but it looks like a fine mist filling the air that would require you to wear a respirator. Is this not the case?
@RandoManFPV3 жыл бұрын
@@MrKlukie man I'm from Arkansas and I've never done Shotcrete. Ill tell you rn that the companies that provide the mix/equipment or labor will tell you that you have to wear one. But if I were doing it I'd be this guy too. No mask no special P.P.E. but that just how I roll, I finish regular concrete bare foot, grabbing what needs grabbed with my bare hands, whereas most people tell you, "oh don't let that get on your skin it'll chemical burn you". Idk man maybe I'm a dummy but that's just how I learned to work, and by having that mentality of "don't be a puss just get in there and man your way through" I outwork most around me

@joshuacarroll17583 жыл бұрын
I own a fabrication shop so I'm able to do all the steel work for it coping rails etc. And donate it . I just want to find some one who knows about a basic plan for a decent park . In the next small town over it took a kid getting hit by a car before they came together and built a skate park . I would love to see one built and help as much as I can in my town . I was thinking about every option I can .
@swyers3 жыл бұрын
It depends on a bunch of factors. But the main costs are rebar, concrete and wood for framing. For this we did rebar at 12 inch center. (Get rebar from a local metal supplier, not lowes) and if the concrete is 4-6” thick, it covers anywhere from 55-65 square feet. That should give you a rough ballpark if you know your square footage. Where we live a yard concrete is $120-$150 depending on the mix 👌👌👍👍
@joshuacarroll17583 жыл бұрын
I am a metal supplier.. concrete/ land and permitting is what I am trying to figure

@@swyers thanks for the information. I really want to get with the county and see if we can get a park here. I want to build the rails and all the metal and see if I can get cemex or a local contractor to work with me on the construction/ concrete.

there certainly wouldn't be that many skateparks around if the skaters didn't make an effort as they do to build them themselves on the one hand, or organize themselves in groups and force them off the municipalities and cities. the scooter kids are like scavengers benefiting from their efforts.
