I own a pair of Daytona Trans Opens (predecessor to this boot and still sold). The boots are going on 15 years old with near daily use except a three year pause when my employer sent me out on international assignment. They are comfortable and still going strong. Eventually the shifting pad cracked and unfortunately the replacement is harder plasticy material vesus the more flexible material which makes walking a lot less comfortable. These boots aren't cheap but considering the per year cost, you are definitely getting what you pay for. Oh, and to those for whom it matters, they are still hand made in their factory in Bavaria and not off-shored to sweat shops like a lot of other big brands.

Daytonas are really incredible. I've got 2 pairs here, over 15 years old. Rubber on the sole a bit hard now, but this can be fixed. Leather and waterproof, still 100% perfect. I love these things and am with no doubt ready, to pay a bunch of money for my next-ones.

I wore their tourmaster Pro in Southern India last Xmas and yes they were hot but not unbearable . Upper half was way harder to keep cool. Coolmax KLIM socks helped.
