He does not believe the gospel. He does not believe that Jesus saves simply by believing on Hi name. This is exactly what Jesus and all the disciples and apostle's said to do in order to be saved. I was thinking about all the different historical/Philosophical ways he could have man handled that guy, but instead he just took it back to THE CROSS! Oh men how we have fallen, trusting our genius rather than the power of the message of the cross. Being right in a disagreement doesn’t create change in the heart. The cross does. Of course there is a time to be like a Ravi zacharias. But more often then not, we should choose to present nothing more than the cross.

Praise God for Jesus the Christ the ONLY way in which a person can be saved. All the questions that our foes use to throw at us to put us on are heels, blessed those who were patient on the lord seeking him; for God reveals himself to them and with him he brings the answers to those questions. Questions (when I was still young in the lord) that shook me.. but praise God! for giving me the strength to hold on to him. Now he has given not just me but to all my brother and sister in Christ, the answers! To give to OTHER. I think it's very fair to present both arguments they are both religious after all, science is something that is observable and the beginning was not seen by anyone. So people are going to continue to argue and say I'm right and the other is wrong. Of course the believer knows the truth, we are changed by the Holy Ghost and know him who died for us, the unbeliever is a fool and will only believe when if he/she accepts the truth which, I think will only come by grace if at all. The only thing's we can do it seems is to proclaim the truth and pray for them, other than that it is the work of God himself to save the sinners we speak to. I think the guy meant that the bible had been edited so many times that someone with bad intentions could have manipulated to have it how they like so that they can control a group of people, but the truth always surfaces it and having a conscience wouldn’t let a individual go so far to do evil such as that in those set time dates as it was such a priority so important they had to protect it with righteousness.

I would also encourage you to dig more in history to make sometimes good point to prove to those who hate the gospel. From Tacitus we learn that Jesus was executed while Pontius Pilate was the Roman prefect in charge of Judaea (AD26-36) and Tiberius was emperor (AD14-37) - reports that fit with the timeframe of the gospels. Pliny contributes the information that, where he was governor in northern Turkey, Christians worshipped Christ as a god. Neither of them liked Christians - Pliny writes of their “pig-headed obstinacy” and Tacitus calls their religion a destructive superstition. Thallus the samaritan: mentioned the darkness that happened at Jesus' crucifixion. Mara bar Serpaion: mentioned Jesus as "wise king" of Jewish and how they killed him. These historian who lived in first centuries are good sourcse to use for debate with atheist. "Now there was about this time Jesus, a wise man, if it be lawful to call him a man, for he was a doer of wonderful works, a teacher of such men as receive the truth with pleasure. He drew over to him both many of the Jews, and many of the Gentiles. He was the Christ, and when Pilate, at the suggestion of the principal men among us, had condemned him to the cross, those that loved him at the first did not forsake him; for he appeared to them alive again the third day; as the divine prophets had foretold these and ten thousand other wonderful things concerning him. Rami Joseph yes I’d have piled in with that kind of information too. I’m not sure though if that’s the right way to play it or just stick to the cross. In my own witnessing and chats with people I definitely use that kind of info and more to bring this Christianrealiity to their door, something to try and open their eyes to this world and the truth of the Bible and the saving grace of God and the redemption found only in Jesus Christ. Ok so good question from Joe: 'is it fair that schools present one side of the argument and not the other?' my answer: yes it is fair, the theistic argument stands on Massive claims without any valid evidence.
