This just made me think, very hard about some of the things that I was taught not just from individuals in church but outside as well. And it's based on scripture at least I'd like to believe it is I don't want to deceive myself or others. It always goes along the lines of : speaking things into existence" or " making things happen" or " change your reality " or manifest your destiny....I thought and probably heard enough of these things. I've gotten away from the whole numerology and astrology thing because a lot of people like that guide their lives and honestly I just thought of it after a while it's just the foolish thing to base your compatibility or whether you get along with someone just because you're a particular sign or a certain number of dictates how your life will go. As well as all of the crystals and such I've never been into that either. But I know a lot of people as of late are burning sage and things of that nature. I suppose I said all this to try to gain some understanding more so of the new age thinking and to avoid it . So I'll be looking into what this young lady speaks on . Very informative .

An interesting presentation that I agree and disagree with. I think the things you said about being our own god and idolatry and the other things mentioned in Deuteronomy are true. The idea of manifesting our true or authentic being it part of the core of Christianity and it gets thrown out with other things that look like or are similar to it. We absolutely are in a god class of being. We are not the source or the creator and we are not independent of our heavenly Father, but we are partakers of the divine nature. Jesus, the son of man, joined humanity and divinity in His incarnation and created a new class of being. A new creature, old things having passed away. As He is, so are we in this world, says John. Our thoughts and words and beliefs do impact and change our environment. The living out of our divinity and humanity doesn't mean we just think and say, and get whatever we desire, but the reality is that what anyone truly believes (not wishing or hoping or conjuring up) but what a person truly believes in his/her heart and thinks about and talks about, is what they experience in their life. From a quantum science perspective this is something moving from a waveform to a particle form. From a biblical perspective this is God's kingdom and God's will coming, (appearing, manifesting) on earth, as it is in heaven. The truth is we are complete in Him, we have peace, love, joy in Him and we are seated with Him in the heavenly places. The truth also is that we can experience that spiritual reality in our temporal lives. New age or old age or any age may have taken and twisted or distorted these truths but it is a big mistake to throw out this reality from the church because someone else practices a distorted form of it.

Acupuncture too. I went to get acupuncture because my legs were hurting. I figured that if you could put a small needle in the nerves or muscles it would prompt your body's healing response and make more blood flow to the muscles. Kinda like how you feel good after a workout even though your muscles kinda hurt. Nothing scientific about it at all. She was talking to me about my "chi" and having my center of body hang from an invisible rope and blah blah blah. Then she put a few needles in the top layer of my skin without even knowing anything about where the nerve was located. Total garbage.

Alright, so as someone who is quite into New Age and who also loves Christ and reads The Bible -- I want to inquire to any Christian (which I consider myself to also be) willing to explain to me why my beliefs are wrong and/or dangerous. I'm being serious and open here both in mind and heart -- I want to understand where others are coming from. When I see this video, I feel it's a misrepresentation of my personal beliefs (I don't know what other's believe) -- I don't have any desire to ascend to some "fifth dimensional plane of Being". I simply believe in the Love of Christ, and I try to be aware of seductive beliefs that would be harmful or instill fear of anything less than God within others. What happens to my soul isn't on my mind when it comes to my faith -- because what I care about is helping others in this world before all else; if I risk damnation/suffering in being open to finding a deeper way to help others through Christ -- then I see that as my cross to bare. I simply don't feel within my heart of hearts that God would do such a thing -- because I have felt the heart of Christ and that is not it. To me -- fear of God is not what Christians seem to think it is. I strive not to fear any mortal man or bodily consequence. I fear only God. Fearing a belief that only seems to put love out into the world -- to my mind, goes against everything Christ stood for. I do not mean to say that there aren't the possibility of spiritual beliefs that are quite destructive; I'm well aware of that. "There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love." 1 John 4:18 I'm well aware that there are verses that contradict this -- but again, "those of pure heart truly see God". The Bible can and does contradict itself; and ultimately people have been made to believe in the interpretations of other men. Do not trust in men, trust in God. Do I know this? No. I know nothing -- nor do any of us; but I do know what love is. I know what happens to men when fear grips our hearts, and I know how love casts that fear out.

Even when all evil and harm is removed from our nature, we are still created beings. We don't become the Creator. No one is saved by knowing the right doctrine, and my personal opinion is that no preacher has all of his doctrines right, and no preacher will have ALL of his doctrines right in the eyes of many people. But the thing that united every denomination is the TRUTH of Jesus his lifestyle, death and ressurection. We believe he died for our sins and rose again to save us from God's wrath and can now trust in him for our salvation and everything else. When I say old Christianity what I mean is when, the church was respected instead of mocked, when people didn't dilute the message of the gospel with "feel good theology" in an effort to try and make "Jesus look cool" and of course even old Christianity didn't get everything right, like the condemnation and the "yelling" as you say, but if we took those parts out and incorporated old church traditions, I personally think it would be a better look for the modern church today. Thats all I'm saying 1 Corinthians 11:19 look up this verse and you will see, that division in the church is kind of necessary so that people can tell what is right and wrong teaching. Its not a "surprise" concept, its actually encouraged, based on my interpretation of course

Totally spot on with the first half, however when you talked about manifesting your own reality with your thoughts and words, this is where I disagree. We are made in the image and likeness of God; God spoke and there was light, God spoke and there was water, etc. When we speak stuff out, our words do have power. Scripture even states that life and death are in the power of the tongue. I'm in no way saying that we are being our own gods, no. The “ New Age” is the Kingdom Age. The church age is passing away as we speak and there will be a lot of “church age” people telling you that the only “way” is to hold onto their “way”. IF their way is the “real” truth then there is no problem. What we must do is get quite with God...Lean into Him and listen to the prompting of the Holy Spirit and use the discernment He has freely given us to know the real truth. Why do people alway go back to the old covenant to prove a new covenant point? When Jesus dies and rose and saved you he also said that the powerful one (Holy Spirit) will enter into you. You will not only do what He has done but even more. God is the source and we are given His abilities. In the old covenant this was not possible but NOW it is possible. We are not just some old sinners saved by grace ....we are Sons of God.

It’s scary all these comments trying to use one or two verses to say they can use their words to manifest, as their own authority. Manifesting is straight from Jesus's mouth in the Gospels. He said if we believe we have already received what we ask for, it will be ours (faith). He said if we say to this mountain..... And do not doubt... It will be done. Peter walked on water because he believed he could. It's all still from God's Holy Spirit. We are not "co-creators", but we are participants in creation. Clearly the hierarchy is in place. But I think Jesus made it clear for us to think positive and believe for what we pray for (although, what we pray for should not deviate from His word). So, I think it matters where and with whom your heart is.

Hi Melissa, I'm a bit of a noob to this kind of thing so I have a question about one of the points you made. You mention astral projection and how, in essence, it's a new age ideological frame of mind, and wrong (in terms of faith in my religion, I am trying to elevate my personal status to that of God), and although I'm not into astral projection....(I think the idea is meditation on steroids for dramatic people searching for purpose that is within them already). But..... you describe astral projection as being a belief in "having the ability to project my spirit onto other spiritual planes". My question is... how is your definition for astral projection any different to the common definition of gaining placement in heaven? They sound the same to me, both require the belief that you can take action to gain entry to something above your own sense of self. The only thing that differs seems to be the method behind the journey. As a struggling believer, I'd love to know your words on this.

You’re question is, if my actions are similar, why wouldn’t the result be the same and acceptable. I can pick up a phone and call my parents and tell them I’m having a bad day. I can also pick up a phone and call 911 and tell them I’m having a bad day. The actions are similar, but the results are not. This is true of many things in life. The Bible doesn’t say you get placement into heaven because of what you do. All you do is believe in Jesus. The Bible says God literally had to die for you to make it. Who is dying for you in order for you to perform astral projection? I don’t see any scriptural support for astral projection and I do see scriptural support for going to heaven. If the Bible is your source of truth, then look to it first before looking to anything people around you are saying. Do you have any questions on any of that?

Basically this is the difference - God is the only one who can lead you to Heaven. It is not possible to astral project yourself to heaven. I am not an expert on this, but I recommend you to read 'Out of the Devil's Cauldron' by John Ramirez, an ex-high ranking Satanic priest who was miraculously saved by Jesus. Be warned - the secrets in there are quite dark (includes a lot of demonic elements) but if you don't like it, you can view his testimony on KZbin. He discloses so many secrets of Satan's kingdom.

Hello! I suppose you're referring to Matthew 17:20. Jesus is definitely not New Age. She clarified that New Agers feel like they are their own gods, that they have their own power to speak things into existence. However, the kind of faith Jesus was talking about is rooted in God's power and God's will. Jesus Himself said He is able to do nothing aside what the Father commanded and gave Him power to do. That's the key difference.

Ok, so at 3:10-3:15 she claims New Age has filtered into today's church in the form of a teaching that says that YOUR thoughts and YOUR words have power to manifest YOUR own reality. I present to you that the teaching you're referring to is probably a little skew because what is being taught (at least in the churches I've been to) is that God's Words and God's Thoughts have the power to manifest into reality, not man's words or man's thoughts. Isaiah 55:11 says "So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it." In other words, God's Word will produce or bring to reality that which God's Word declares/states. This is the teaching that I have heard/received. Maybe I'm interpreting your words incorrectly, but I thought I'd bring that up.
