Please add to the host things like laughing and other human emotions as well as host interrupting each other like in a normal conversation. Giving the host lines to read sounds scripted and not natural because this not how podcast are like unless it's a education or scripted one. Most podcasts are free flowing. But this is amazing keep up the work.

@@EvanBlack11 thanks for your comment. Actually there is a feature for interjections (where people interrupt one another), but I didn't show it in this demo as it was already half an hour long. @@EvanBlack11 Hi Evan, you can add [ ] around words in the transcript to make the hosts talk over one another. You can add speech blocks wherever by pressing Enter twice, if you'd like for them to cut off the speaker and then continue with their interruption. Laughs can be added as well, but how natural they sound depends on the voice.

This looks great! I will be checking it out. I agree that Notebook LM's podcasting creation capabilities are pretty awesome, but the flexibility that Jellypod seems to offer is remarkable. If content creators truly want to have a unique sounding podcast, you really do need this type of flexibility, otherwise your pdocast just blends in with everyone else's and your podcast doesnt' stand out.

I totally agree. NotebookLM also now allows interjections in the episode, easy to record with a screen recorder. I think the voice clone voice is pretty much as good as ElevenLabs, and the AI generated voices are amazing. But the podcast episode, especially Sarah is too uncanny valley for me. As mentioned, two separate scripts. For all the flaws of fixed voices and inability to customise script specifically, NotebookLM sounds remarkably natural, and is free. Also, 50 sources with 20,000 words 🤯 I willl try Jellypod some more to see how it improves. The biggest flaw right now is the lack of banter, jokes, and laughter. The lack of surprise.

Thank you for the demo, it is very useful to understand both this particular software but also the use of ai to generate podcasts. After listening to your example, but also after using NotebookLM, what I hear is a conversation between two characters that seem to have the same level of knowledge of the subject, which in itself is a great feat given the short time it takes to generate. It looks like the conversation-between-experts mode is the only available and I could see other modes, for example teacher/6th grade mode or journalist/expert mode that would generate appropriate questions and answers to reveal the information to suit other types of audiences. I was wondering if you had similar thoughts and would expect this feature to appear some time in the future.
@Jonathans-HubJam

Hi and thanks for your comment. Yes that's a good point, however perhaps if we write in the backstory that one is the expert and the other the learner, then the ai would take that into account when it generates the content. In fact I will ask Jellypod about that now! I'll get back to you. Best regards, Jonathan.

ok I got their reply: "Yes absolutely. That’s the magic of Host Customization. There’s so much that can be done from this perspective over a NotebookLM. Cloned professor and a designed student, startup ceo and prospective client, etc. I recently wanted to take it to the extreme, so I made two hosts that were on political extremes and then gave them a recent news story. They went at it!" As I demonstrate in the video, the Magic Voice Design should be able to generate any type of host.. Hope that helps.

Thanks for this and taking the time out to provide answers to comments. I can't agree that you magic voice creation was very good. It fell well short of the Jellypod voices and still sounded very artificial. They could do with a lot more custom voices in various languages. Incidentally, how did you have so many hosts. The paid plan starts with just 2 Magic voice and 2 cloned voices. Also are you stuck with them or could you delete a host after creating one podcast and create another one for a different series?
@Jonathans-HubJam
@Jonathans-HubJam 15 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching and commenting.. hmmm very interesting that you thought the magic voice creation was well below the other voices - the other voices bar Matthew's were also made with the magic voice design, and to me sound as good, dunno. Also really what's valueable with the voice design is the ability to influence the podcast episode's content by the backstories. Today one of the Jellypod founders was telling me how he created two backstories with opposing political views and the generated ai had them really arguing. Re the languages, Jellypod just added 25+ languages, which happened just as I was finishing the video off, so that'll have to be for another video. Re the hosts, well I was given access to the Starter plan to play around and record the demos, and just realised that yes I seem to be over the stated limits - I'll ask them about that and also about your question about deleting hosts (pretty sure you can). Bit late for me now, I'll ask them tomorrow and get back to you. Best regards, Jonathan.
@yoagcur
@yoagcur 15 күн бұрын
@@Jonathans-HubJam I tried a magic voice and got similar results to yours, there was much more of an automaton feel. than with Matthew. Maybe someone will come up with some prompt hints that get more natural sounding ones. I heard from jellypod "On paid plans, you can create and delete clones and designs at will." . So you could do a podcast series with specific hosts and then change. Unfortunately the cost per minute then becomes a major factor. Good to hear that you can produce contentious viewpoints. That is a definite plus over NotebookLM from what I have experienced

I think the operation aspect of this app and the flexibility of script editing and creating voice clones are awesome, but still not quite good as NTLM when it comes natural transation and voice expression that sounds like real people talking, but it seems a promising project...
@Jonathans-HubJam
@Jonathans-HubJam 15 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching and commenting. Yes, as I mention in the video, the fluidity and humaness is a tad behind NTLM. But I think it's at an awesome level, as good as Eleven Labs (they actually use Eleven Labs voices in the voice library, although they tell me they will be broadening their voices technology so it's not just Eleven Labs). It's certainly promising, especially when adding video in the future. Also, this could be used not strictly for podcasting but also for making ai KZbin channels for news etc. in which case the quality is fine and the ability to control the output is just what you need. Best regards, Jonathan.

Sorry did you cover if you are able to specify the podcast length
@Jonathans-HubJam
@Jonathans-HubJam 12 күн бұрын
Thanks for your comment, you can't specify the length because it's generative ai, but you can set the transcript length. The more or less chapters in the outline / words in the transcript, the longer or shorter the output audio. My project in this video was about 1.7k words and the output was just under 11 mins, so I think you could work on about every 150 words being a minute of audio, then adjust your outline/transcript according to the audio length you're looking for. Hope that helps. Best regards, Jonathan.

I took a trip over to Spotify to see if I can listen to the entire thing without skip's and it pretty good. However, the female voice seems a little flat without any life in it. It doesn't pare very well with the male voice, which sounds the opposite. Reactive full of life and informative. Thank you for the tutorial and the time that you've spent putting this together. Well done! I'm going to have to give this a try. I have several ideas 💡 that need a vehicle such as this. Are there any other important things that you wanted to mention after you completed the video?
@Jonathans-HubJam
@Jonathans-HubJam 13 күн бұрын
Thanks for your comment. Ok, regarding the flat voice well you can generate a voice and if you don't like how it comes out you can delete that host and create a new one. You get 3 voices to choose from, but perhaps until you have them in the actual podcast episode you can't evaluate it that well. I would recommend just doing a very short transcript as a test so you only use a few credits, so you can check the voice out. Perhaps also the voice library contains better voices, but I'm not sure because I haven't test that thoroughly. In any case Jellypod say to expect a big jump in voice improvement this month, which sounds great! Also regarding your question I didn't mention that you can insert interjections (interruptions) in the dialogue, and also they just added 25 languages. Ah and I see they've added Apple integration. Glad you found the video to be useful. Best regards, Jonathan.

I have the same concern. It’s way too expensive at the moment - especially if you are starting out creating podcasts. I would expect to release one weekly but if you had a 30 min episode, say, that would cost 1800 credits (round up to 2000). That’s almost your monthly credit allowance used up on the US$280 annual sub. To do a weekly podcast you’d need the US$560 per year, which is too much. Especially in non-US countries like NZ where the subs are NZ$500 and NZ$1000 respectively. This means it’s really for those who already have a podcast that is monetised and who now want to spend less time creating the podcasts…

For some people it's worth the cost. Best regards, Jonathan.

@ Hey Jonathan, while I can agree that Jellypod might have the edge for podcast creation, saying it leaves NotebookLM 'in the dust' is quite the stretch! 😄 NotebookLM is like a Swiss Army knife of AI tools that can do countless things Jellypod can only dream about. Each tool has its superpower - it's like comparing a specialized sports car to a versatile SUV that can handle any terrain. Both are great, just... different! 😉 Best! Stefano

of course you're right, I was only comparing it on the podcast creation front, which is what Jellypod was designed for. I know from previous viewer's comments about Notebook that a lot of people were taking the dialogue and creating podcasts from it, but were frustrated with the lack of control over the content and the voices (there are more now than then, but still limited). Then Jellypod appeared, a brand new tool, designed exactly to scratch that itch. Notebook is amazing, and will continue to bring out amazing new features, no disrespect to Notebook meant! I still intend to do a video on Notebook's features actually.. Best regards, Jonathan.

Thanks for watching and commenting. It's not free I'm afraid. I wish. If I find a free equivalent (doubtful) I will let you know. I do mention in the video that it is paid. Best regards.

Hi, yes it is paid. I put the pricing plans on screen towards the end of the video. If I find anything similar that's free I'll certainly let everyone know. Doubtful though. Regards.

Seems odd. The male voice seems to be more natural than the female voice

The free version only lets you upload 3 sources. What a joke. I’ll stick with Notebook LM.

That's certainly way less sources than Notebook for sure. Although that may change. Regards.

I’m sorry, but these voices all sounds plastic. And if you didn’t know, those voices weren’t made they are voices that I heard 1000 times online. The challenge is to make it sound like a human speaking and this is far from that. It does sound like something has been recorded with a script. This technology is no point using if it doesn’t sound real because nobody will listen to that as soon as you hear that robotic voice, you’re gonna turn it off.

thanks for your feedback, I double checked with Jellypod and they confirmed their voice designer makes unique voices. I. believe it's like the Eleven Labs voice designer (without the backstory part). Yes, natural sounding speech isn't 100% there yet, and Notebook does have the edge there, although that also has some ai quirks from time to time. Anyway Jellypod say to expect a big jump in voice quality this month. I'll keep you posted. Regards, Jonathan.

@ the first voice you showed from that studio or magic studio is from 11 labs. I hear that every day in advertisement around KZbin it’s one of the most famous voices in AI voice history used by the most people. Of course, technically it could be that they changed some frequencies in that voice and called it their own, but it’s the same voice.

ok I know that the voice library in Jellypod uses Eleven Labs voices. The voices that I showed in the magic voice design were first of all Diana Carter, then the NY business guy, then the wizard, (actually we heard 3 options for each of those), then the voice I created for Sarah. I believe the first one was Diana, but if you mean once I got underway creating the two hosts, then yes, the first voice was Matthew who is from the voice library, who is indeed an Eleven Labs voice, as are all the voices in the Jellypod voice library. Is that the one you mean? the British male voice I used for Matthew? Regards.

"his" voice is alright but "hers" sound so mechanical and robotic, no intonation at all. Anyway as a side not, can't wait for the day when you will just open an app, type whatever interests you and the app will spit out podcasts for you in seconds so anyone anywhere can create their podcasts how they like them!
