I put on it a Hawke Vantage 2-7 X 32mm, scope, Hawke Extra High Tactical Mounts, Donny FL Tanto with the adapter, extra magazines, and it is shooting the 18.13 grain JSB Diabolo lights out at 50 yards. He loves it. Nice video Steve and Tyler is helpful as always and informative.

It reminds me of the hype around the Avenger and Gauntlet units. Sure they were fine....If you want to invest another $470,00 into it , just to make it shoot like an $800.00 unit???? 'not forgetting the $350.00 purchase price' When we just bought the better unit from the jump. Make that make sense. All 3 of my Avengers leaked , 1 got repaired under warranty , 2 did not. The whole 'three strikes thing' is very relevant here. I just had to order my second seal kit for one of the Avengers. Never again , When repaired 'again' , I will sell all 3 of them.

I own the Gauntlet 1 and Avenger, both in .25 cal. I bought the Gauntlet first. This was my intro into airgunning. I’ve owned over 300 powder burners in the last 32 yrs. I’ve taught shooting and safety. I’m no sniper, I don’t shoot competition, but I’m about a step away from that with rimfires and not too far behind with center fires. That being said, I know how to shoot. I loved the Gauntlet. Very accurate, but bummed about no side lever. Bought the Avenger three months later, and as much as I love both guns for the same and different reasons, if I’d bought the Avenger first I probably would not have bought the Gauntlet. Love that gun. I’ve recently dropped in a Buckrail tactical stock, and upgraded the plenum. Will be upgrading to a carbon tank in a few months. This is becoming the 10-22 of air rifles, that are DEFINITELY worth upgrading. One little suggestion….MAKE THE DAMN THING IN .30 before I have to buy the Gauntlet!!! Im goin broke bro!

I got the .25 plus the .177 and .22 barrels, when you tune this, if possible, is there a tune that goes from .25,.22.177? Out of the box, zero the .25 at 35 yards, change to.22 then 5 shots at 35 yards, then the .177 5 shots at 35 yards...high and low on all of them.

The low power setting on my Nova Vista Liberty sends 15.89 grain pellets @ 725 FPS which is great inside buildings and High power sends them @ 910 FPS if this helps give some idea of the 2 settings and what you should roughly expect. Unless the stainless reg actually fixed the issues I had, it'd have to be a pass. I went through four, and not one of them had a functioning regulator. The trigger left quite a lot to be desired as well. Besides those points, it shot great and I personally loved the 300 bar fill, even with a hand pump. Gave me an excuse for a little exercise with immediate payoff! The stock on the Avenge X looks like a quality polymer one, too. I'll have to wait and see how these play out over the next year. Despite the issues I had, I *still* wanted an Avenger. Now I want an Avenge X!

Difficult to tell so far for the significant cost increase of 250-550$+ for this X model...might have less buyers remorse buying a AGT,FX,Ed Gun,Daystate, or Air Arms to be honest. @@heathhalfhill6401 I actually ended up with a wood Hatsan Flash. It’s lighter weight and shoots tighter groups off the bench than the Avengers. An actual two-stage trigger and it also likes cheaper pellets than the Avenger, so no complaints there. My only qualm is the lower fill pressure! I think I got mine for $275 or so. I made that first comment before hearing the prices on those. At $500-750, absolutely no way. Better deals on better rifles at those prices.

On/above the fore end? When the cocking lever is moved to the left side of their hybrid bullpup you are able to work it using your left hand without disrupting your cheek weld, shoulder position/contact, and right hand. I see their hybrid as a mid-length, where the butt pad is 6(ish?)" from the rear of the "block"(correct term? - rearmost position on a firearm when the action housing/cover, frame, or bolt when the chamber is open). Short of a semi-auto the only other mechanical methods that I can think of are slide/pump and lever. It comes down to "which of the three points of contact do you prefer to use/manipulate *and* how important is retaining cheek weld", no?

I'll never buy another Air Venturi gun ever again, the last few models they put out all leaked and the customer service is horrid. Their excuse, the price, if you want a great gun then go pay big money for one that works, which they sell to their loyal followers (mainly the people getting paid to push their products) and all you hear is, "You get what you pay for", and "If you wanted a gun that works you should have spent a couple thousand on a good one, it's your fault they sold you a piece of garbage." A working gun that lasts more than a few weeks, if it does that, but it's a beginner gun so for the price you're supposed to enjoy giving your money away for crap that doesn't work, and horrible customer service, all the sheep push that for them because, ummm, well, I don't know why. When the last few models that have been put out had the same exact problems and they refused to fix it, it's all about the money, and of course, they all blame it on China and are too stupid to realize the people running the company here in the USA are the ones that approved it to be made, in China and with crap seals, regs, etc. Be prepared to throw your money away or have to spend more to make it actually work the way they say it does. there's no excuse for the horrible service and gun after gun after gun having the same issues they refused to fix. Again, it's about the money, don't do it or you'll regret it if you want a good gun that works and will continue to work out of the box. I have budget guns that have run like beasts for years and still going strong, I think I've had one for like five years, no seals changed, nothing, and still awesome. Don't buy the, "It's a budget gun" lie. I hate it because they would be good guns, but the track record of Air Venturi guns is hitting on zero, it's the truth and facts, thus everyone will hate me for it. Wait, don't buy one, make them prove themselves with a good gun instead of buying a sales pitch.

@@hollowell427 It's got the potential to be a great gun for the price, but when the excuse, the same excuse gun after gun, nah, not interested. I have other budget guns that have run like a champ for years and still going strong, and I can do with it what I could when the Avenger was working, and neither are regulated. I'll probably get a high-end gun eventually, but I don't need it at the moment, I may shoot to 150 yards and my budget guns will do that accurately enough to not have to spend the money right now. I just have issues with the whole "get what ya pay for" line. All my other guns are still running just fine, if it were a one-off and just a few people with the problems I'd write it off as a bad one, but they have a track record of it and that makes all the difference. All of my guns are budget guns and they run great and have since they came out of the box. The Avenger may have later a little over a month and they sent it back worse than when I sent it to them, all I've heard is the BS line of, "Ya get what you pay for." That doesn't explain why I have guns the same price that has run like a champ for four to five years at this point without issues, they don't seem to fit into the, "Get what you pay for", lie that's often sold in the industry. It's just not true, it's an excuse.

@@springpistonriflefeverlone9611 I only have one springer, another el cheapo, it broke and I had to fix it a few years ago and It's run like a champ since. All of my guns are budget guns, my Hatsan Flashpup wood model is the most powerful and accurate, unregulated and I can do with it what I could with the Avenger when it worked. The Avenger lasted a couple of months and I sent it back to be fixed, it was returned worse than I sent it so I got mad and it's been collecting dust since. I still shoot my Flashpups and other guns, they've been running for years. I have three that are way past due for seal changes, but they're still going so I haven't touched them. I had a horrible experience, watched the Air Venturi guns for years, always leaked and had problems model after model, I got mine as a Christmas gift, I wanted one but never would have bought it without waiting to see if it would be like previous models they've put out. I think it's got a lot to do with not needing a higher-powered gun if you don't need it. I only shoot on a few acres for the most part and my budget .25 cal guns are good as far out as 150 yards if I need to go that far. I can get critters at 40 to 50 yards with my .177 break barrel without problems so I have no need for it right now. That could change, I do have some friends with huge properties where I may need more power for distance I could hunt on, I just don't. I use my co2 pistol (Diana Chaser) the most, I've taken out more pests than I can think of with it. Snakes, mice, etc. I use my .25 cal pcp's because of groundhogs and stuff of that nature. I also have deer here daily and I could drop one without a problem if I needed to. Break barrels are great tools, mines a springer so ou have to know how to shoot it, but man is it accurate. I bet you have some good ones. I can't recall, haven't been on here for at least a year. I think I'm the only one that likes my gun, it was $52 I believe, and is amazingly accurate for me, nobody else can shoot the thing because of it being a springer, but I love it. Thanks for the comment, sorry for the book, I'm bad for that. Have a good one.

You guys didn't talk about the weight. Old Avenger is 6.5lb, new one is 7.7lb. That's pushing Gauntlet level piggyness. I wish they made them lighter even with less adjustments as Avenger is a good field hunting gun except for the weight.

For what it's worth, it felt really light to me... I had a lot heavier guns in my hands that week 🙂

@@AEAC I'm comparing to Diana Strormrider. If Avenger weighs that, adding optics will push it to now Avenger level especially IR stuff. Add optics to current Avenger, and it really pigs out.
