I just got my Airmotiv T2+'s, with the C2+ center, and B1+'s in the rears combined with the new Denon X3800H powering the rears and an Emotiva BasX A3 powering the fronts and holy wow is it awesome. The T2+'s sounded really good with my old Pioneer VSX1131 but it really wasn't giving them the power that they needed. Emotiva makes a great product, and their customer service is second to none. If you have the money and the space for the Airmotiv's and you're on the fence about them, just do it. For the price it's darn near impossible to beat. Last night I watched 1917 and dang, I had no idea what I was missing before.

I think magnetic grills are good for floor standings. back surrounds side surrounds and centers if it comes to Atmos speakers. especially when they're on your ceiling how many times are you going to climb up there to take off the grills. I really don't think it's a big difference in that regard in my opinion. I just wish they had an option instead of using the same exact grill style for both atmos and back or surround speakers they have more of an option. depending on what they're for my opinion.

The new center channel speaker is insane. I have the Emotiva C1+ and B1+ speakers as my LCR on my small dedicated movie room (18*10*9ft room), great value and great performance. I have the C2+ and its dispersion isn't as good as its width would suggest. Its frequency response changes when you move more than 25 degrees to the sides from the center line of the speaker due to comb filtering as noted by Erin's Audio Review. The C3+ is suspected of having the same issue. You mentioned it has a wide dispersion, but did you pay close attention to this aspect of it in particular? I've never seen a measurement on your channel so I doubt you checked with REW, but did you think to check the general tonality when listening far off-axis? Thanks!

I have been running a KEF Q series surround setup for a couple years now. Q950 LR, Q650 center, Q350 x4 surrounds, also run some Q150's in the kitchen. Decent sounding speakers and a large upgrade from the Energy speakers I used to run. After I upgraded to Emotiva amps from running them off the receiver, I ran into some limitations at reference levels. I purchased an Emotiva C2+ to see how it compared and after an hour of A/B testing the Q650 was collecting dust in the corner. Just that much better and able to handle all the content. Next step after finishing the HT room will be to upgrade to the 3 series reviewed here for LCR. The Q350's & Q150's make good surrounds but are just too small for LCR's unless it is a very small listening area and subs are present.

The grills for the atmos speakers need to be that way. Who wants to pick up grills from ceiling installed speakers?
@TwoGuyzTech10 ай бұрын
Hi and thanks for watching! You are correct, Emotiva say's they used the pin and cup fasteners to insure they won't fall off. On all of the other speakers Emotiva sells they use a magnet on the grill that attaches to the metal screws that hold the drivers in, which in my opinion isn't as strong as magnet to magnet. If they would have used the magnet to screw design on the A2+ then I agree the grill would be more likely to fall off, but if they had gone with the magnet to magnet design using strong magnets I don't think they would ever fall off especially since the grills are so light weight. Most of the in ceiling Atmos speakers available today use magnets to hold the metal grills on which is what I have been using for the last few years without any issues.

@miscreant17392 жыл бұрын
Yeah I believe this was an intentional choice by the designers to voice the speakers for clarity and that meant not covering up the midrange with accentuated bass. I have the T1+ towers and when I was doing comparisons of them with other speakers without subs I had the same complaint. I ended up choosing them anyway because I have two 18" subs that can get very low and loud so I cross the towers over at 100hz and this just isn't a problem in my case. If you don't have subs or a way to adjust the bass via a tone control or room correction with manual adjustments then they may not be the best choice for you.

Ideally almost all speakers need to be pulled out from the wall for best sound whether they have a front or rear firing port.
