The vertical LED really perplexed me as well until I realized it was a recreation of the line flow of the later models with singular headlights, where the corners of the grill and lights connect with each other to create an endless line flow. The obvious recreation is of the first models with dual headlights, 2 giant tear drops close to a rounded off grill, which is recreated with the LED strips surrounding the housing. It blew my mind when I realized that they managed to combine the visual effect of both models.

Im not sure if it's the nostalgia speaking but I still prefer the original by a little bit. I think the longer tail suits the overall design better and it's got a pointier nose. But to be fair I wouldn't even have noticed the nose being shorter if I didn't have a side by side comparison here. The new one is very easily the most beautiful modern car I have seen. It really makes it feel special to see just how much of the original had been carried over into the new one. The way everything opens, the doors, the headlights... Everything. But it really does feel like they've made the butt a bit too stubby. Or it's all just so beautiful that I can't help myself but wish those shapes would continue flowing for a few extra inches. 😂

3:29 I do: seeing as though the 33 Stradale and the MC20 both share a platform, and the MC20 is set to receive a Folgore version, it stands to reason that Alfa Romeo decided to take advantage of that
@kennythomas7672 Жыл бұрын

@napsterbg Жыл бұрын
It is worth noting that the Maserati MC20 is the Alfa Romeo 6C project that was produced by Alfa Romeo from 2017 to 2019 and then for less than a year by Maserati 2019-2020. So it doesn't really "pull mechanical parts from the Maserati parts bin". After the death of Sergio Marchionne who commissioned the project the new leadership decided that this car can sell more with the Maserati badge. There was an article a few years ago about the MC20 and how a lot of its parts were Alfa Romeo designated including the engine. And how Maserati lied about the car being "100% Maserati" in their PR while they worked on the car for less than a year. All of those articles today from automobile journalists about how this is a MC20 copy are a joke when it is the other way around.
@nailil5722 Жыл бұрын
True, but I still think that giving the project to Maserati was the right call. An Alfa Romeo 6C would not fit with the current poor line up while the MC20 is a more rational addition to what Maserati represents. I just hope that eventually we will get a new Alfa Romeo Spider or a new 4C for real enthusiasts.

My only criticism is that rear diffuser. I wish they had exposed some of the internals like the original car (a modern example would be the Mclaren Senna). Other than that, what a magnificent piece of art. I reaaaaaly hope Alfa brings a prototype or whatever they stick in the museum around the world to car shows/events/etc in the US. I got to the see the original 33 (not the prototipo sadly) and it was just stunning. It would be a shame if it only sees the inside of a garage.

@jamesaron1967 Жыл бұрын
Agreed, the De Tomaso is on another level. The P72 is more hypercar, the 33 Stradale is a supercar if that makes any sense. The P72 has a V12 as a concept and TT V8 for production, whereas the Alfa Romeo is based on the TT V6 of the QV.

Mad props to the mad genius who dared think (s)he could tackle the Stradale design. Sure, the original was not for everyone, but it was so utterly perfect for it's market that improving it is a huge ask. Only 33 of them, though... I mean, I can see why - the poetry of it is hard to beat, and it ensures the future desireability of them forever. But... C'mon, man - I have more chance of seeing a rain of frogs than I do of seeing one of those in the flesh! ;p

Totally agree with you. Appreciate how you take the old and new in same slide for comparison point by point. I only have one problem with this car. And it's all me. Just looked at the articles on TG and MT and in the dashboard shot I got the impression that the instrument gauges are cartoon eyes, the horn button a big cartoon nose, and the bottom metallic steering wheel spoke a cartoonish giant tooth inside a bog grin made up of the bottom of the steering wheel. Now I cannot un-see that cartoonish face. Still, amazingly beautiful car.

Agreed. Just for once I wish these high end automakers would produce a car equally beautiful for the rest of us 99 percenters. The reason buying an electric one, i supply and demand. If they make 33 and 26 are ice(gas) and 7 are electric, then the electric will appreciate in value more. If its 16 electric and 17 are ice. Then the gas will prolly hold a better value. Itd be possible that less than 5 would be electric and that would make it less than 10 made. Dividing the power options may make this even more collectable. There was a ferrari once that had a recall most people went to get it serviced. The ones that didnt their cars went up in value alot more than the ones that got the recall service done
