Excellent flip through! Thanks for explaining the changes and what has been added. The artwork is breathtaking! Wow! That being said I'm fine with keeping my first edition because my son gets distracted by too many colors and cute things on the page. He would get lost in the images and start pretending that we were deep in the forest.😊

Oh so exciting!!! I can’t wait to order these very soon. I’ve done all about spelling level 1 before with my oldest who is about to start level 2. And I will be starting level 1 again with my kindergartener/grade 1 son too. I always thought all about spelling needed more activities and visuals so glad this came out. Can’t wait to give it a try

Thank you for sharing this! I just ordered it & am waiting for it to come. I actually had ordered the old version because my son just finished level 1, but I’m sending it back to get this. He also does AAR and loves the activities. I’m super excited they are now including an activity book. Hopefully my son will enjoy spelling a little better now!

I'm so excited you posted this. I was just looking at it on the website yesterday and today and I really like what I could see from there. Your video is very helpful to decide if I want to switch to this from the first edition. I'm most excited about the activities and posters that I won't have to print out. They have that stuff for free on their website but I don't like having to go online and track it down and print it off. Anything that saves me time and makes things more interactive and fun for the kids is a big win!

I’ve ordered the level 1 as we are still on lesson 1 as my older kids have been struggling!!! My teenager loves the tracker as he calls it!!! We’ve printed some of these spelling rules so having them is awesome!!! I wonder if the fact it’s not age appropriate has made it not work for us yet!!! As AAR works and nothing else as worked we stuck with it!!!

I have 1st edition and wish I would have had this new edition from the beginning. 1st edition teacher manual I feel is missing some things and not as easy & open and go as AAR. We will probably continue with 1st edition due to $ and hopefully once we get past level 5 the new ones will be available.

Thank you for this video! We are starting our first year of homeschooling this fall with a 2nd and a 5th grader. My oldest has many dyslexic tendencies and spelling has been a struggle since Kindergarten. He can pass a spelling test at the end of the week and can't spell any of those words the following week. I was having a hard time deciding on where he should start since I feel like he's already memorized many of the words in the first couple books. Seeing that they've added in a new section for older/advanced students is really helpful to know!

Can you do a sample lesson? How to you like this version compared to the first edition? I have the first edition level 1 teacher manual...borrowed from a friend, but nothing else. I need to buy the cards. My son is 3rd grade, he'll probably zip through this. Should I just buy the old student pack or get this FULL new edition? Thanks for your help!

YAY! Thank you for doing this! I was excited to see it better. This is our first full homeschool year after I pulled my oldest 2 out of public school in the middle of last year. We have been using All About Reading and really love it. Your video about that helped me a ton and I have used your binder idea so that I can reuse it with all of my kids. As far as the All About Spelling, this is the first time they are including a student workbook? I am excited to see if you can figure out and share a way to reuse them for future children like you did for All About Reading. Seems like it looks very similar except that there are parts that will be written on. I am curious if the written parts will be the same and we can just write on them and use them again or would we need to laminate them to be able to clean them off?

Could the student books be re-used for multiple students if placed in sheet protectors like you suggest with the All About Reading program? I bought two of the level one student packs, but am wondering if I could have just done one and used it for multiple kids? I'm new to all of the programs and just getting ready to start!

Thank you! I have recently started looking into this curriculum. You sold me on trying it once you said it is risk free. From my understanding the previous edition didn't have consumable papers in Level 1. Do you know if the new edition for Level 1 has consumable papers in the student packet?

I have not gotten to look more in depth but I believe by putting it all in sleeve protectors or laminating pieces you should be able to resuse the activities

Hey, are most of the activities "pick 8 words your child needs more practice with, have them write on the back of these cards, and then do something with the cards"? In the level 1 preview pages, I saw different types of activities, but the level 2 preview only showed those kinds of activities.

Katie, what is your recommendation about the best time/age/stage to start AAS 1? My son is just finishing AAR1 (he’s 6 1/2), so I wondered if it would be a good time to start AAS in the Fall? I’ve just been afraid to, because I’ve heard other moms say they wish they waited to start spelling later!

What all about reading level is your daughter on? I was looking at their website expecting to start level 1 all about spelling at the same time as all about reading but when I looked at the preview of the new all about spelling it said they needed to be able to read a handful of words or have finished all about reading level 1 first. Is that your experience?
@LifeintheMundane
@LifeintheMundane Жыл бұрын
Yes! All about spelling level 1 is to be started after completing all about reading level 1. This may sound odd but it’s actually very well done. My daughter has completed AAR1 & is 3/4th of the way through AAR2 currently and we will be starting AAS 2 this summer.
