NEW Alternative Route to Get into Endgame on Ironman

In today's video I'm talking about alternative methods on how to reach endgame / lategame on your Ironman account in OSRS (oldschool runescape).
These are just my thoughts and opinions on how I would progress a new ironman account from early-/midgame all the way to endgame.

As an 1800+ total level HC ironman, I feel like I have the levels to start making some insane progress into late game content, but I don't wanna die. I know my HC status is a hindrance at this point in the game, so I'm tempted to just go for risky stuff and if I die a whole new world will open up to me. It will be bittersweet but I think I'm ready to move on to the normal iron life.

​@@MibuInMalibu Voidwaker is incredibly useful for End-game content. If you have nothing to lose/risk why not go for it. Accursed Sceptre is a good defence drainer - If you don't want to grind out a DWH (You'll still want a BGS), special attack drains 15% defence & magic from the target (And actually hits unlike the DWH) Webweaver is a decent ranged weapon to go for rather than locking yourself in the red prison, and only gets outclassed as a ranged weapon by the Bowfa, and it's more common than the Bowfa - And definitely outclasses the standard Rune -> Dragon crossbow meta that existed pre-bowfa. Voidwaker is the best weapon to use for: ToA core, melee K'ril, PNM, Melee Bandos (If you *really* don't want to do the red prison grind for 5:0 Bandos) Ursine chainmace - Only really has a place in Wilderness content, so that would be pretty moot if you're not doing Wilderness content. As a UIM, I've already made the decision that if I wipe (I'm in end-game) I'm fully prepared to make the voidwaker part of my rebuild.

Been starting this particular route. Had some very incredible luck at Revs so far as I've received a 8M Emblem and the Chainmace in under 500 kills. This has really propelled my account forward! I am currently learning the Artio stepback method so I can upgrade my mace :)

Upon checking the dps calculator, the voidwaker is 5.15% worse at stab than a zammy hasta on TOA bosses. However, early TOAers should also consider it's a great way to get guaranteed damage via the spec, where your other options for a spec weap would be a bone dagger or dds if you don't have a bgs. It wouldn't wake baba during boulder phase and it could come in clutch at p4 warden or speed up p1.

Best part is that you can juggle between old and new methods. I see the new methods as chances to skip parts. Eventually you'll wa t to do the slayer grind but this opens more pthways along the way. As you said, mix things up to prevent burning out.

Very nice ideas! Like others mentioned, missing stuff like rigour, augury, occult, lance from the plan but definitely interesting options to consider if not for the best overall efficiency, great fun options. I'm following the bruhsailer guide and going for bofa before major slayer (helps with at least Vorkath head, muspah scepter, bandos, zammy hasta, demonics, shamans, metal dragons, d-pick). They haven't updated to include Toa for the bossing ladder yet so I haven't given much thought when is most helpful to do some. Cg grind is very slow and I've been doing a few things here and there with regular crystal bow with the armour. Now I feel like I can go do more fun stuff and not just wait for the cg grind to finish so thanks!

I'm not much of a pvper so wildy is uncomfortable but I'm going to consider at least trying more wildy slayer and revs. Some bosses for d pick sure, but Voidwaker grind is not for me.

I do agree, eventually you'll want an occult, lance etc but the 93/95 slay requirements are just very lategame. The idea I had with this video was to talk how to push towards endgame from a midgame point without having to slave 95 slay etc. Also Wildy stuff is something I've done very minimal amount, so that's why I'm very interested about these new methods and weapons there are 👀 Huge thanks to you for the comment! ❤🙌🏻

Oh and I also tested out the wildy bosses and getting the voidwaker doesn't seem to be a hard grind, maybe time consuming but the singles bosses aren't too difficult and you can do them with minimum risk ✌🏻 (I have a video of me testing them for the first time) 🙌🏻

it'd be sick if u did an in depth like guide kinda on void waker route. my ironman is 104cb and i have bowfa and almost done with cg, getting quest cape, and i have 70 slayer. i was gonna decide which way to progress my account it would be cool to see like "ok u need this much materials stored up for your void waker grind, these stats, etc." not sure if my guy is ready or not

I suppose just go for the wildy bosses, its very supply efficient as you can use blighted pots & food and the bosses drop supplies constantly ✌🏻

This is almost exactly what I'm doing right now. 2/3 pieces of voidwaker and webweaver so far. Currently camping for the last piece and then back to rev tasks. The antipks should fund bonds for the account. Having much more fun than normal slayer.

i just started an ironman so this was helpful. i wanted to go for a TOA rush and was thinking what would be the best route. I didnt even think of the void waker.long ass grind but damn that would be so sick. I think a couple of videos of even more detailed ironman routes would be an awesome video.

As an ironman, one should figure our farming first & continue doing that daily. Or get Agility to 60 or better yet to 70 as it will help you a lot by unlocking lots of shortcuts & you can run longer. After that.. I feel like quests (unlock fairy rings, spirit trees, balloons, gliders for travel), diaries (Ardy diary easy & medium for Ardy cloak 2; Karamja for Karamja gloves that are the first gloves that provide bonuses), clue scroll stashes (keeping the clue emote items, making & filling the stashes with them) are the ones to aim for. Of course you gotta do some skilling along the way for quest requirements. After that.. Working on slayer & getting your melee stats (ATT+STR) to 130 so you can enter Warriors Guild for one of the best food vendors (Potato with cheese; 9 coin item that heals for 16) & access to cheap ATT & STR potions so you can always have boosted stats in every melee scenario from here onwards. Dragon Defender will also come in handy of course. Can also AFK sand crabs if one desires. After that.. I feel like as an Ironman, one should get all skills to 70+ which should slowly get you out of mid game. Bunch of minigames to play as well that provide useful unlocks (like Barbarian Training or Tithe Farm). EXTRA INFO: Easy way to train crafting is with molten glass that is cheap to get from Port Khazard. Once you reach unpowered orbs, I'd keep doing those, later you can power them & craft them into more exp & HA them into a few mil profit. Easy way to start with construction is by starting with "Daddy's Home" miniquest. And after that continue doing construction contracts at least until 27 construction to build easy clue stashes. Gather 1k planks near Barbarian Outpost (4 planks spawn there, just hop worlds for an hour). Nails I recommend you smith yourself. I highly recommend RuneLite with plugins. Look up a video that recommends OSRS plugins. Has stuff to protect you better from PK'ers & lots of other quality of life improvements.

1. You completly overlooked the mage training minigame, great for early lvls, wand, bones to peaches, inf boots 2. You dont need a bowfa, the crystal armour gives you enough bonus till you get higher lvls for cg 3. The zombie axe. Overpowered meta for ironman, get a zombie axe and do some sarachinis (D-Bones.D-Hides,Herbs,Super pots, Restores, SaraBrews) 4. Slayer is still good, just dont do all the quests, no unlocks means 0 defence monsters, range or mage em and ur chilling 5. aim for bonuses over minor gear upgrades, e.g salve, slayer helm, leaf blades (YES LEAF BLADED IS A BONUS, those turoths and kurasks are underrated ironman monsters for early game melee) 6. Get void early, its a long grind but you can literally get in there just with a few magic lvls that you got from mage training arena, this will be handy for ur ranged and mage setup for maximum cheese. the extra hit rate saves you on some cost and till you get blessed hides and ahrims void is decent. You can use this to start off ur melee stats or if you only have magic lvls ranged. if you follow the logic here, its a great method, leveling through 0 defence monsters, bones to peaches for heals at kurasks/godwars. This means you would easily have some good ranged and magic levels for gauntlet, melees long and you can save training melee from slayer tasks to get the most bonuses you can (Slayer helm, salve, Fighter torso). The focus should still be on slayer, it has more bonuses available and will get you closer to bigger upgrades, gets you gp for kingdoms later on. wildy slayer isnt a bad idea but in terms of rev weapons and gp but you also potentially risk it, konar is a more reliable option and has benifits for later on (dark totems and shards for arclight get bonuses for cerb and demons, konar keys can give you some good stuff) and also gives you alot of wyrm tasks, which helps towards 60 prayer for piety. Something most people overlook is doing barrows early, you can start barrows the moment you have a ibans and void, this can give you a chance at getting full sets early and you can work around that, e.g i got spooned a dh set, so ima be using that for some melee training, thats all a game of rng there tho. Main thing is to get mage arena and void early, and do not do quests, sure you wont get the quest unlocks, but with void you dont need a glove slot, this means you can replace getting barrows gloves sooner with a slayer helm. Dont perfecty but you will get much faster ranged/magic xp which you will need for gauntlet and cheesing bosses, barrows gloves are great but will slow your slayer down alot. essentially you can sacrafice your melee stats for better slayer, ranged and magic xp, without quests you can hit on low defence monsters all the way till nechs, even then you can use chins or burst them( dt1 also unlocks dust devils, be prepared for rune costs if you do dt1)

another thing to note, the higher ranged and magic means fire cape. tasks like bloodvelds drop armour pieces which you want to bank for giants foundry.

i been using this method and got base 70s melee, 70 magic and 90 ranged which lands me at 75 slayer and im gonna stay this way for a while, the xp increase from not having to deal with defence means that gear dont matter so much, so you can cruise thro all ur stats, getting supplys for the sote req. at 70s u get access to the zombie axe, sote. Another thing i should mention is that this is without me bursting, this is pretty much purely from afk safespotting with ranged. main reason i havent used bursting is to preserve runes, you will get xp from alchs, enchanting, teleporting, more barrows. Magic isnt really a issue for ironmen to level.

Interested to follow this guide. I was also following the ironman guide v4 from oziris. Would it be ok to first get b gloves before starting with wildy slayer? Or would you start earlier with wildy slayer? Can you give a guideline before which combat you should have certain unlocks like how to craft: slayer helm, slay ring and broad arrows? I am not sure to continue with questing before starting with wildy slayer atm.

Wildy slayer is very versatile, honestly whenever you're planning to do slayer I'd consider wildy slay as an option. A friend of mine got really lucky with early larrans keys so he got a ton of cannonballs from early slayer lvls Also Revenant tasks are very good (you get bracelet of ether) so barrows gloves arent necessary required

If I started Iron from the scratch, I'd literally do Wildy slayer with a bone crossbow/fire strike as soon as I'd start my slayer grind. If you do wintertodt/get early gp for a Dwarf cannon, even better as most tasks in wildy are cannonable

I did the exact path you described on the GIMP but combined the original path with wildy slayer early. I got the group all the slayer items, d boots, prims, whip, tridents, occults, as well as Hydra items and have finished 99 Slay and done 2.5m over 99. Slay is just my favourite skill so no brainer for me. Only thing I would say is rev task weighting is AWFUL I'm on dr now for first weapon but honestly the amount of points I wasted getting the tasks I would consider grinding revs off task it's what I'm going to resort to now I am on rate. At this point I am on over 1k total tasks that's how many points it wasted, with efficient blocks on as well.

It's very much up to personal preference, most wildy tasks are very nice and you are able to do them low lvl 🙌🏻 I'd honestly skip black demons if possible as they're kinda tedious to do early

Honestly, whenever you get Song of the Elves done for unlocking gauntlet ✌🏻 If you don't feel comfortable doing it right away, start slowly with learning regular gauntlet first 🙌🏻 GL 🌞

I learned cg with low 70 stats doing 5:1 method with staff since the t3 staff always maxes 39 unlike the other weapons which scale with strength/range level and the accuracy from gaining magic levels isn't that impressive, with the difference between 70 and 90 magic being like 10% accuracy at most Just do learn the route made by fluffeh for getting t2 armor and the fight will be cake

fire wave with tome of fire does as good as trident of the seas and only a little worse than trident of the swamp. Only problem is you need 77 runecrafting for the blood runes.

If you get camped at wildy it can get frustrating, just test all the options out and you'll find the way you like! Slayer is a marathon not a sprint, I'd advice you to find relaxing methods to grinding it 🙌🏻

450 Cg deep right now, that’s like 70 hours in. I’m deadass just as close to getting a bowfa as when I started…. I’m 6x dry at zulrah too. Not really sure what to do besides stick with it.

Personally i would use a crystal bow and just take breaks. Bowfa is a massive upgrade over crystal bow, but crystal bow is still an upgrade with the armour and it's pretty good

Tbh, this guide kind of seems like rushing bofa + extra steps. After you get a bofa, it is very very easy to grind for a zammy hasta. And magic damage doesn't really matter for TOA. Corrupted Gauntlet gives insane gp in alchables. So if the goal is rushing for Toa, Bofa + Zammy Hasta + Ivan's Blast (or w/e is bis for magic without any grind) should be the fastest route. I don't rly see the point of all this extra wilderness grind

Honestly, the new sceptre opens up alot of the endgame really early for irons now. I kinda want to see some dps calcs on that one but I'd definitely suggest you to get it if you dont have trident unlocked

I'm already almost maxed and endgame on my iron but I've been grinding voidwaker and thought about this exact route. I'm banking 99 con from artio mahogany log drops. I have got a sceptre and webweaver bow in 4k Rev kills 1k ish on task. Got Dagon Hai robe bottoms which is nice for like solo cox over ahrims too. Craws/webweaver bow is actually powerful for out of wilderness content probably similar to a karils bow. I imagine zulrah would be viable with it and the sceptre Doing wildy slayer at low combat would cut down on who can attack you too I imagine someone doing this route could be a 13 Def pure or berserker to minimize how much gear they need to risk and who can attack them. Gf just started an iron but is new to the game and not a fan of pvp so not gonna suggest it to her. I've considered joining her on a group iron with this route and staying a pure to slow me down compared to a new player. Also you can delay getting high fishing because blighted food drops and maybe only need 65 for Karambwans. And I forgot to add that accursed sceptre defence draining spec could make dwh grind less important.

On a sidenote: You will still have to do slayer eventually. Yes you can skip whip and yes you can skip trident but you cant skip occult and you cant really skip dhl either. Occult is one of the items that make shadow so insane and dhl is kinda unreplaceable on olm unless you get a scythe. Still. Occult is needed.

Good question! I'd definitely say wildy bosses with minimal risk is one of the easiest way to start bossing regardless if you're an ironman or not! But if it seems daunting to try, maybe test some easy access bosses first ✌🏻

@@reillywilliams8731 If you wanna try it out, I'd say just go for it. Most tasks are easy to manage as a low lvl, but once you unlock dwarf cannon it becomes very fast! Just a reminder, Dont bring anything that you're not willing to lose! Try it out with less risk first and always remember that someone might pk you ✌🏻

Hey Dude, you're putting out great videos. 2 gripes I have. 1-You're missing out on rigour and augury from chambers, especially rigour is super powerful. 2-If you're gonna skip out on slayer, you will most likely be sitting in nightmare zone for extended periods of time which I'm not sure is super useful for ironmen. Othen than that, great video and I encourage you to put more pictures. perhaps from the wiki, monsters and their drop tables to spice things up.

True, CoX prayers are really strong (tbh, I don't even have them on my Iron yet as I haven't started chambers solo grind yet) ☠😅 I wouldn't necessary recommend NMZ, I feel like there are way more beneficial stuff for Irons to afk their combat if they want to do it low effort (like Vyrewatch sentinels for blood shards). I'm Definitely working on putting more stuff on the screen in terms of pictures etc, for this month (March2023) I'm doing a video every day challenge which really cuts down on all the fine tuning I got time for. I'm only doing nzm when I can't even be active enough to pick up drops. I think it becomes more useful if you move on to more ranged (ex. bofa shamans, demonic, metal dragons, Vorkath) and barrage slayer ( like dagannoths and abyssals in addition to the usual dusts and nechs) which means you're getting less melee xp from tasks. Having higher melee early of course helps doing slayer too. Some other grinds for melee xp in addition to slayer I can think of; 1,2k black knights (fally elite), moss giants for medium combat achievements/bryo staff, many bosses. So there's lots of non slayer xp there too.

Honestly, I did some revs on my iron just to test out different weapons there. The amount of bracelets you get that you can turn into ether will last you a long time with scepter 🙌🏻

Tbh shamans are pretty bad before you have access to divine range pots for maintaining max hits and basks aren't worth doing pre-fang cause the tasks take an eternity and jaw is a low prio upgrade for most content since bowfa carries most pvm
