ABH is killing it with these palettes lately, I like both but the color story of this one I’d know I’d use more. But I do think there’s not a great base shade for lighter skin tones. Not that I’m complaining, because literally 95% of palettes do cater to light skin tones. Plus I have plenty of palettes. I have the Sultry that I actually bought last year at TJMAXX and I think this would be a good sister palette to that one!

Serious question (and no shade, I’m just honestly curious) but is there really THIS big a market for these orange/burgundy shades? I personally hate this colour scheme but every single release in the last few months seems to be pretty much the exact same (except Nouveau.) I know brands follow trends, but this super warm trend was big only a few years ago (and I hated it then too 😂)

While I prefer the Nouveau palette, I also like the Rose Metals color story. I'm a sucker for elevated neutrals like these and the shimmers are just that tiny bit special where you feel like you've really done something once you put them on your eyes.

I ordered this one as I used to do with all ABH palettes... but after using all the indie brands I'm just not as excited as I usually am. I'm more excited about my Strange and Unusual delivering today LOL. I'm going to use the ABH and see if I like it, but after all the special shades (Devinah, Clionadh, etc) I'm rarely using mainstream brands. And when I do need something more toned down I'm reaching for Blend Bunny Dollhouse or the neutral colors in my Odens Eye, Kaleidos, even Sigma. ABH, UD, Too Faced, etc... I've just lost the excitement.

I always liked the quality of ABH shadows, especially their neutral-ish matte shades but I found that the shade range in any given palette couldn't give me the looks that I preferred & unless I purchased multiple palettes & combined them, the shade range was somewhat lacking (for me & my preferences) But it's so nice to see the mix of warm & cool tones & unique color combos that the brand is now doing. The colors are definitely more complex & nuanced than just warm neutrals or cool neutrals of past releases which is a nice change :)

Per usual, I love both of your looks, especially the second one because I love cool tones. But I agree, that the palette is dark; it is missing some light colors for dimension, highlight, and light! I plan to use it together with Nouveau. That is what I do with all my PML Mothership palettes as well. Then I definitely get a look I like.

I saw this in pictures and it didn't wow me like the nouveau palette. Let's see if you change my mind! I always hated the velvet covering one use and it was stained. I think maybe it leans too warm for me. * the second look was stunning. I can see this being popular for party season. I think for me the colour story of the nouveau just grabbed me as it's more unusual. I still have my sultry for darker looks and 3 years later it's still going strong!

Really am enjoying high desert fall with the Nouveau. I'm living in my army green and mesa wall slickrock colors for work and that palette goes with almost everything I wear this season, feels like. ABH did not pay me to say that.
