WHO ARE WE?
We are Bob and Hillary, from Chandler, AZ. While we love living in Arizona we are not going to lie...the summers are brutal! So since both our boys are now in college we decided it was time to buy a van and travel! We originally thought we would build one out. But after the past 1.5 years we realized that prices went up and things were hard to find. So much is on back order. So we did the next best thing! We bought one completely finished and ready to go!
Our goal is to inspire others to start #vanlife, chase their dreams no matter their age and season of like and to help people achieve their very own home on wheels. #vanlife

The layout with the reclining couch turning into a bed is actually the floor plan we're most interested in at this time! I like the idea of having a usable couch then simply pushing a button and BOOM you've got your bed. We're considering the Coachman Nova 20C but are a couple years out so that may change. Thanks for all the content - it's great to see how real people (not full time Vanlife'rs) use the class B.

It's a pleasure watching you 6-footers negotiate your way through these tiny Vans. I too am 6ft.I have a six foot eight son and we're going to one of these shows and now I know we need to watch out for headspace and knee space and sitting on things that are not secure. Thank you so much!

We have an 2013 airstream lounge and we keep our rear seats down in the the bed setup all the time, also have a 5 inch memory foam mattress on it we love it and no problem going to the bathroom at night easy to get in and out of we love it and I think you would also, never had any problems the Mechanism.

I have one with the fold down bed ,I leave it down all the time and put a 3” memory foam mattress on it from Walmart it works great for my wife and I , great video

:) THANKS MUCH! I did not know there were that many Class B's!!! I would stay AWAY from anything on a Mercedes chassis unless you can afford pricey maintenace and fewer dealers... I had a Class C Navion, while GREAT on 16mpg, BUT, a $300 oil change? And it was the last year before DEF was on all diesels... read where that system WILL GO out and its $1000 + to fix.. just a bit of caution.. ALL THE BEST and Cheers! :)

We just bought the Thor Sequence 20A with the pop-top. I love driving it. Very comfortable bed. We averaged 15mpg. Good storage but the bathroom is tight. Love the cassette toilet.

The Thor 19p Sanctuary is amazing and you guys need to give the folding couch a try. The side seats flip down and gives a big bed. I’m 6-2” fit amazing.

@@Vancaskeys plus it makes for a great place to lounge using the side seats as an ottoman when you just want to chill. The fridge is decent size as well. Is it a perfect RV nope but I’d rather save nearly 50k on it from an American Coach 19’ model. And driving it with the safety tech is pure bliss

My wife and I also have the Thor 19P with the folding bed and it awesome. Gives you a lot more room than the platform bed 19L model. The Dealers are having a hard time selling the 19L floorplan model and for the price it's a great buy. We did a cross country trip from San Diego California to Toronto Canada with two small dogs and we were fine.

Recently discovered your channel I've been binge watching and really enjoying watching you. We recently downsized from a 32 ft class c to a class B. A coachman on a Ford transit chassis we haven't done any big trips hoping to get out of the snowy cold Pennsylvania winter after Christmas but im struggling with the downsizing 😞😫

Ekko is a class C because it is on a cutaway chassis as a class B is a standard factory van body ! No such classification as B-plus or super B , class A class B class C

You know... you should avoid going to RV shows ...else, you'll be getting a new van every year! Lol. There will always be a better van every year if you keep looking. Once you make your purchase, you need to wait 10 years before doing any more shopping. To caveat, we are also looking at vans and learning from your experience. Thanks!

One thing for me is trying to figure out the CCC (cargo Carrying capacity) of the vehicle. There is suppose to be on a sticker somewhere on the vehicle that states what that is but I have yet to find that info on any site including the manufacturers site. Supposedly it's the GVWR minus the UVW that equals the CCC. The GSWR has to do with towing capacity of the hitch. Anyone got a clue? Does your vehicle have a sticker that shows the CCC for your model? Next time you go to a show you might want to look at that.

The drivers side door frame has a sticker and ours reads tire and loading information-The combined weight of the occupants and cargo should never exceed 1624 pounds. Is this what you were looking for?

@@Vancaskeys Yes, that helps. Various other videos get confusing because some use empty vehicle weight plus fuel. Some add propane to the empty weight figure. Thor according to what I could find on their site supposedly includes fuel and propane to the empty weight. When you start to add up the water weight, people, any external items added after manufacture, the capacity load can go down very quickly before you've even loaded the vehicle.:-)

@@Vancaskeys Thanks. Waiting for our Scope 18M to get here. Looks like it should arrive at beginning of December. They've been a bear to work with so far at the dealer but I've been touching base with corporate and there are some issues still to be addressed. Did they give you a report on their inspection before you did your walk-through PDI? This much money I tend to be touchy about their business ethic and what to expect from them...especially service.

In USA we have such a poor selection of class b’s. In Europe I see so many more options. 😢 BTW those folding seat that dub as a bed are terrible for sleeping. Needs a 3” memory foam.
