Have all my radios in either pelican boxes or in wooden 3 drawer wooden boxes I made. The boxes are made same size so I could stack if I wanted to. I have a piece of wood I put across the arms of my recliner and pull out radios as I use them. Put them back afterwards. They all look new, no dust. Keep my 100 watters in pelican case and put them on kitchen table as I use them. The recliner is my shack.

I have the speaker, bought for my x6100…and picked up a MS Surface Go in Huntsville for $100. Great for this portable use!

I am seriously considering an MC-750. I have a lot of fun with the AX1 on 15, 17 and 20. I haven't had much luck yet with my AXE1 attachment for 30 and 40. Thanks for the video. Looking forward to checking out more antennas at Hamvention.

Trying this again - KZbin ate my first comment... Thomas, you gave away my secret for busting pileups with 5W :) This was another 2-way KX3 QSO running QRP on both ends. You are a great ambassador for QRP operations, and hopefully can pull a few more QRO operators over to the QRP side. You don't need a lot of power and big antennas (I have a piece of wire in the trees in my backyard). Technique is a lot more important than raw power. Thanks again. de K5KHK PS: Cant wait to watch today's activation video. On my end, there were mostly crickets. Most of the time I could not even hear hunters. It will be interested to see/hear what it sounded like on your side.

Karl, it's funny because WD8RIF and I were just speaking about this over the weekend. Your callsign is one that really pops through the pileup. The letter combo is unmistakable! :) You're always a very welcome addition to the logs. And thank you so much for the kind comments, OM. I love the fact we were KX3 to KX3!

Nice pileup om. That key is fantastic. Wish I could afford one.

They are very sweet. I still prefer my SP4, though. :)

Honestly the most time consuming part of deploying the mc-750 is winding/unwinding the radials. Also I believe I worked you on a tufteln 28.5 foot speaker wire antenna and my kx2 on this activation

Hello Thomas. Is it possible for your next video if you can go through the protocol for logging a CW POTA contact? Thank you.
@ThomasK4SWL Жыл бұрын
I will make myself a note and hopefully remember! Basically, though, I simply log the meter band, call, state/province, and the time.

@@ThomasK4SWL I would like to know basic QSO protocol because I am going to try to use laptop with a CW decoder. Thanks. Enjoy your videos! 73

Hey Thomas, greetings from the UK! Great to see you are enjoying the great outdoors and your radios. Interesting to see the key you are using and here is a difficult one for you. If you had to choose one key to pack with your Kx2 to go light would you pick this one, the KXPD2 or any other? Reason I ask is that I am reaching a point when I will be in a position to get A KX2 and as reward for my CW training I would like to purchase a good companion for it but at this point I can only buy one. Thanks for sharing.

The KXPD2 paddle is a great one for those times when you need the most compact kit possible. The Bamakey TP-III I use here is a very nice paddle. I also love the CW Morse SP4 paddle. Good on you for doing so well on your CW journey!

Hi Thomas, great video. My Chelegance 750 arrived and I just need to get paired to the Mountain Topper 4b v2.3. Thanks for the suggestions. ATG KO4PXH
