Set up of the Christmas table in the front of the store sounds soooooo fun. A LOT of work, but fun! Can't wait to see it. I think once you find something you love that jumps out at you, the rest will follow.

You have the SAME problems in your mall, that I have in mine...... Customers who won't leave things as they found them, AND Cashiers who won't type what I write. We do not get our tickets back, so I tell my shop owners that IF I get paid for an item that isn't mine, I have no way of knowing!!!! Also, I have ALWAYS LOVED P. Buckley Moss!!!! I have a few of her prints in my booths, but customers in the two southern states where I have booths, do not know who she is. I would Love to visit her museum, there in Virginia!!!!! ....... Also, YOU AND MIKE A--R--E MY FAVORITES!!!! I wish we could see more of Mike helping you!!!! I am sure he is busy too.

Was on a long drive up from Southern VA and got my husband to stop at the antique mall on our way to DC yesterday. Your booth was fantastic and the mall was HUGE with great stuff for everyone! It was so fun to browse and such a good break from a long drive. Highly recommend for anyone driving by. Thank you for all the great content and doing this during the most chaotic time of year. Happy Holidays!

I put on the tag “key #5” (or whatever number that item is) under my written description so that they name it the # and that corresponds to my inventory log that I keep of items in my booth. It helps speed up the checkout for them and then I know exactly what sold. I used to be at a place that you printed out tags with sku numbers and it was so fantastic- I miss it! But the number system is better than guessing!

I think it would have been a whole lot easier if the mall owners had sent out a message to all booth owners in advance to ask who would allow their stuff to be up front. Then, based on the responses, they could have marked a map for you with which ones were okay with it, making your job easier because you'd know which ones to go to.

I'm considering opening a "fleatique" booth locally but want to amass as much info as I possible can before taking that leap. One of my biggest hang up's is how I would keep track of my merchandise. Do you have a system you use? I'm learning from watching the videos you're putting out, thank you for giving us a close up look into your booth.

I think that there was only 1 Santa because there is only one throughout history, St. Nicholas. The Grinch is well, the Movie (animation of the book) was made in 1966, he's kind of "new" ; think older Vintage vs true Antique. Not a fan of Jim Carrey but they do put that version in the Christmas rotation of movies and I think that it came out when most of the parents of the current littles where little themselves. Just a guess. Yes, keep the coat! The booth will look lovely with some Christmas in it...can't wait.😊 This project is perfect for you to be driven crazy by and yet feel so proud of...have fun with it.🎄

Just a thought maybe you could number your pieces and have some kind of inventory system? Maybe apparel, Home goods etc have a different sku system. And you would know what you sold. Based on the sku? Probably more trouble than it’s worth just thinking with my retail brain lol. Love your videos!

What about having a number (as well as a brief description) on your price tags? When an item is purchased, that number is entered into the system. You, having a clear description and price allotted to that number in YOUR records, can see what exactly what has sold. 🤗
@treasureseeker8489 Жыл бұрын
Numbering items is a good idea; But for me, it would be Extremely Time Consuming. Also, Cashiers in my shop, make Sooo Many Typos!!! Also, being a long-time Dealer, I find that Long descriptions cut down on ticket switching.

Great video ! I get sooo much inspiration from You and your booth. I am a vendor at a much smaller antique mall (Blue Door Antiques/Fairbanks,Alaska). We have about 20 dealers in an old house with three floors. I am in the basement :). So for inventory - I use a different capital letter per the month and then add numbers so that I can keep track of my sales. November Q100 - Q179 (79 items).

Amanda I don’t know if you talked about this segment before. But I have a booth in an antique mall for a year and I sell steady but of course I’m not making much right now, but do you pay your booth rent out of of the money you made or just pay full price and get Back what you made? I’m trying to figure out what’s best and what’s profitable ?
