Ola! Excellent video! Thank you guys for highlighting and teaching stuff about new edition!

And thanks for watching! It’s always a pleasure, and happy to hear it’s helping out a bit!

BTW Power Through is going to be absolutely insane, another thing to note is, move out of combat yes. Just like you said. However, you've still made a charge right, so you'll be able to still pilein 3", so that means you'll be able to fight somewhere else first without fear of retaliation.
@ryanburruss7 ай бұрын
Hey Dietz, thanks for the comment. How do you mean though about piling in? It sounds like you’re saying you can fight again after the Power Through, which happens at the end of the turn and isn’t eligible for another fight. But maybe you mean something else?

@@ryanburruss ooooohhhhh EEEEND of a turn... nevermind me I'll just be on my way then :D haha

@@MKDietz I mean maybe there’s some secret tech there lurking somewhere else in the rules!

@@ryanburruss hopefully! :D we'll see, else you'll be able to setup for a countercharge, but then again that's 3 command points, so quite a heavy toll for sure

I'll be houseruling the retreat to be d6 hits now 😊

Haha, definitely try it as d3 mw's first though. Who knows how they balanced it throughout the game 😉

Just wanted to note that reactions specifically say "starting with the active player" :) Great vid as always :)

Oh yeah, good catch! Thanks for watching! Tough to soak everything in, even after 9 pages of Word Doc prep, ha

@@ryanburruss Yea ofc, it's easy to miss things with all the new info coming out - I see it as a good way of helping each other into the new edition! :)

Love the friendly back and forth between you two on finding little tidbits we might have missed.

Great video as always guys, love the in depth analysis, unfortunately hearing you speak about all the changes has reminded me again why I won’t be playing 4th 😂 glad people enjoy it, but I’ll be sticking to 3rd for a while.
@strategoi8 ай бұрын
Seems absolutely fine. Maybe wait it out a little bit until we're farther along in the edition. Usually at that point, things have settled down more.
@ryanburruss7 ай бұрын
Thanks Hades! I totally get wanting to keep playing the old edition for a while longer. Happened to me going from 2nd to 3rd, but I just said screw it since I wanted to get into the tournament world. But I’m sure you’ll be able to find some folks down to keep playing 3rd!

The model you are using in your opening shot is what is making me get a stormcast army for 4th.
@ryanburruss7 ай бұрын
Oh yeah? What is it about the Reclusian that’s got you so hyped? Hopefully we see more of the new kits looking like this. What did you think of the new Prosecutors?
@darrylkerbow79487 ай бұрын
@@ryanburruss part of it is the paint job. Really feeling the blackened metal faded up to a steel. Part of it is the attitude. The sculpt has an elegant brutality to it. And part of it is the layers of detail. Normally GW just has design vomit over every flat area, this is not simple but the details just work. There is a tiny bit of jank around the collar and helmet, but it still has me excited enough that I picked up a box of domnion to get some filler for the new army.

Since the judicator is being removed, does that include the knight judicator? Sorry, I'm new to the hobby and things being removed.
@strategoi8 ай бұрын
The Knight Judicator is leaving too, yes. They might get some rework along the way though, so if you've got some Judicators laying around, don't throw them away 😁
@ryanburruss8 ай бұрын
You’re thinking of the Hero with the wings. The Knight-Judicator is the Thunderstrike guy with gryph-hounds that shoots at long distance. So he’s safe, no worries

I love the narrative and uniqueness of subfactions but im glad to see them go. Because some subfactions are not only junk (which idm) but makes you take stuff that just feels bad to buy. For example nurgle sucked. If i wanna play my favourite sub with the sub focused hero being slimux i need 3 trees. If i want the caster sub i need 3 sorcerers. I hate that and basically refused and missed out. For argument of flexibility i bet there will be more formations then subs meaning more options. For lore arguments, your paintjob and units are the lore part. Also, the formations favour unit types still. So are you a vanarii host? Then pick the vanarii form. Most lore aspects are avout units anyways not the rules they do. I really cant see an issue with losing flavour outside of reading about it. Going back to painting, its also more homebrew friendly which i agree with.
@strategoi7 ай бұрын
Completely agree. We obviously lose some upsides, but gain more than we lose, I feel.
@jakea39507 ай бұрын
@strategoi i feel the same way. Spoiler alert, looks like gw will get us buying more endless spells instead, lol.
@Chance_258 ай бұрын
The worst thing about 4th, is that knowing GW there are going to be huge glaring holes in the rules. There will be some major cheese and broken mechanics.
@strategoi8 ай бұрын
Moving from one edition to the next is always a little rough. With indexes, it might actually not be as bad, since they should be balanced compared to one another. Let's stay hopeful 😁 If there do end up being glaring holes, I hope they fix them quickly.
@MKDietz8 ай бұрын
They've been quite good at their rules throughout 3rd to be honest. So stating this as an absolute I feel is off the mark. Some things in new rules in any game might sometimes be exploited of course, however the rules team have proven they are dedicated to changing things fast.
@ryanburruss7 ай бұрын
Yeah I’m with Dietz here. Matt Rose in particular has been really cleaning up shop with attention to detail at the design team. No, it’s not going to be anywhere near perfect when it comes out, but I have a strong feeling this will be the best written rules set we’ve seen from AoS or 40k, and there’s a good chance that bringing in the Battletomes after the index will actually end up making it harder to balance again. In any case, I’m excited, and like Jonas I hope that if it needs big balance updates that they happen quickly.
