Ok, i'm pretty much irritated...🤯 Pease explain this, if you can: You can get 5 different Types of Displays in the Shop: 1 = 10,25" Android (i guess that is the older Version) 2 = 8,8" Android 3 = 8,8" Linux 4 = 8,8" Linux with "Projection function" (What does that mean? Projection ? Some kind of Head up Display?) 5 = 9,0" Linux with UHD Questions: Which of these have you tested here? Android or Linux? Pros and Cons? Is UHD worth it ? And what's that Projection Function all about ? Maybe you could make a short Follow up Video about this and go into those Details ? Im surely not the only one who's a bit bamboozled by this... P.S.: Ok, you can change between Celsius and Fahrenheit... But i couldn't see an option to change between MpH and KmH !? I live in Germany so I need it displayed in KmH ! That is indeed a historic moment to be one of the select to first get the car from that factory. Make sure to do a thorough walkthrough and document any defects so Tesla can fix them for you. When Tesla is on a tight deadline, they are known to sometime not the finish car correctly.

@@electricant1367 worked out pretty nicely. That behind the glovebox connection was tough, but not the end of the world. I layed on my side and supported myself with a large box on the ground by the passenger seat. Overall pretty happy with the system so far.

Quick question, when using Waze via carplay, does the nav instructions come from internal speaker or Tesla sound system? I would probably try it out if it had shown the side camera when using the turn signal as it does at the Tesla screen. I think that would be very useful. It would be something like the ionic 5 has. Getting the camera view up from the main screen is something I really would appreciate. Until something like that or similar I think I will wait this one out.

Thanks Shiva, just installed this device this morning. Went pretty well, that plug is a little hard to get to but not too bad. one question - my unit seems to be slightly crooked - it is not completely horizontal as you look at it through the steering wheel, it is angled some towards the left so the right side is a bit higher. The device is secured to the ac panel. Also both your instructions and the instructions in the box did not have the hole count right for my 2018 LR AWD Model 3 so I got it to where it was pretty much centered and equal distance from the cut out where the steering wheel goes. Using the instructions or your count it was way off center. Not sure if that has something to do with it.

It isn't a huge issue but do you think they will add that feature with a future firmware upgrade? I will defer to Hansshow on that one. They might have used a different design for the wiring. However, you can leave the older one intact and just daisy chain this new plug to the older harness. That way, you wouldn't have to remove the plug from Tesla but just hook it up to your older wiring. Hope that makes sense.

Awesome video ! How does the call quality sound compared to the OEM Tesla system without this add on? Also just curious if your Model 3 rattles inside with all the mods you’ve done having to take panels and disassemble the car to install these cool mods. The call quality sounds exactly the same to me with this display or going through the main Tesla without this display. The previous display had some issues with calls sounding all robotic but that issue doesn't exist with this one. My car doesn't rattle with all the mods but probably is louder as removing all these parts increases the chances of wind entering the car. I just have to make sure to tighten everything back together once I am done with each install. So far, no issues but we will see how everything holds up and if these mods affect my car in the long run. Thank you.

Shiva, great video as always. I recently installed this screen, and I have an issue with the phone call handling. No matter which way I set up Bluetooth (phone to hansshow display, hansshow display to Tesla and make it priority) the phone calls are all echoing and I have to call the person back with my AirPods. Hansshow gave me an update, but they basically said phone calls can only come through on the hansshow display which really really isn’t ideal. If I am playing music on the Tesla, it doesn’t cut out music and then when I answer the call the person experiences the echo. Any ideas or solutions to this? I am considering removing the device because of this, or just using it as a really expensive HUD

It was great until for some reason I am seeing that Carplay does not automatically boot up and connect to my phone. I'm seeing it fail about 50% of the time where it does not connect. I synced it up using the BT-LINK as per the instructions on the device, but its not connecting 100% of the time. Once it connects though, the connection is solid, but I'm wondering if anyone had this problem?

Unfortunately, looks like the front camera has been discontinued for this new model. You can still get the older android one or they also sell a 8.9" Linux/Android version with the front camera. Regarding your second question, yes if you have a phone that support dual Bluetooth streams (all mewer phones do), then you can use Carplay with this display and bluetooth for your calls directly with Tesla's screen. I was really happy to see that they fixed call quality issues that was in the older display. Thank you.

Thank you very much. That is a very grey area and I don't want to speak for Tesla. However, the federal government says Tesla cannot void my warranty simply because I added an aftermarket accessory. But, they can certainly void my warranty and make me pay for repairs if my installation or this product damages OEM tesla parts such as the computer.

-You can connect this display to Tesla via bluetooth. Then everything you play through this display will play from Tesla speakers. There is a slight delay and you can use the steering wheel control when Carplay or AA is connected. -The right control will not work when you go on AP but the left works. This is so that it doesn't interface with AP controls. -Yes Waze works with this display through AA or Carplay. Thank you.

On your Model Y 2023, the plug is on the side door panel (easy access) and it is blue color. Nothing is plugged into it by default and you just have to insert the new male plug into the open female blue plug. Please send me a quick email if you need pictures to locate it. Thanks!

There are two ways. Both get the sound through the car's speakers. First way per the mfg is the phone connects via Bluetooth to the display, the display connects via Bluetooth to the car. The other way is the phone connects to the car's Bluetooth and the display acts more or less as a display.

How well does the audio portion of CarPlay work? Like Spotify? Also how well does Waze work And does having this unit connecting to Bluetooth for CarPlay prevent any of the native Tesla apps from working?

It doesn't affect any native Tesla apps. The audio can be played using the little speaker on this dispaly (which is louder than I thought) or you can connect this display to Tesla and play audio through the car's speakers while still connected to Carplay. The audio quality is the same as if you used the Spotify from your Tesla vs this display. I haven't tried Waze yet but the previous display worked well with Waze (just like using the app on your phone), so assuming this would be the same. Thank you very much.

Does the system recognize metric system...ie. Canada cars? And if main screen is in dark mode as we like to keep it, will the dash screen move to a dark mode also? It would be odd to have a light grey display as shown with the main screen on dark! Great video by the way! I'd like to try this on our future MYP coming (also yoke ordered), but I didnt see any settings allowing metric other than C vs F temp. Thx!

Hi Naveen, yes the system automatically recognizes the metric system so yours would say KM/H instead of MPH. The screen automatically goes into dark mode (darker blue) when the Tesla transitions from white to black. Congratulations in advanced on your MYP, hope you get it soon :) The Yoke is really fun, I will be installing an elliptical version soon and compare it with my current trapezoid one. Ok so got the install of yoke and screen today! Love it!! Question…did the screen actually fit perfectly straight like the main screen or sight angle due to the dash itself being a bit angled? Wonder if the installer just screwed up when he righted the bolts? It’s subtle but slightly off…like 1 degree maybe? Also I find the tach for power very choppy. Not a smooth needle..almost as if the software is still weak? This is the new Linux version so I figured there would be no lag here? And lastly when I accelerate faster the speed changes slower than the main screen speedo. Again like the processing is lagging a bit. Is this classic bait and switch internal chips from China? Lol

Also Shiva..wondering..have you ever seen anyone inquire about changing the pewter trim in model 3/y to the chrome type trim in the new S? The trim part that is under the wood on the doors and under the wood portion of the front dash I think the chrome in the new S gives it a total class increase! I’d line your thoughts on how this could be done!

Shiva, thanks for the review.. I must say how disappointing it is that Haanshow has completely forgotten about those who were early adopters of the10.25" version. They have stopped updating the unit, there is no feedback from them on their own forums and they have still not fixed the Carplay Phone calling issues, that make the unit unusable ( horrible echo on the other side of the call when unit is sending audio thru the Tesla BT system) . The least they could do is offer some sort of trade in or discount towards the Linux based units (which hopefully don't suffer the same Android based unit issues) The fact that you have had numerous questions posted about using the existing wire harness and the only response is that " you are waiting on Haanshow" Tells me they have still not figure out how to support the product they are reselling. It has so much potential, but too many little flaky things that make it hard to justify its purchase.

I have asked a few KZbin posters that showed a successful install of this device. I had this professionally installed today and when they plugged in the cable in the back of the computer behind the glove compartment the car freaked out and everything inside the car wasn't working correctly, protection faults, car wouldn't go more than 35 and a rear light stopped working. They plugged the original cable back in the car was fine after that. Replugged back in and the same, so I am not sure if I have defective unit or my June 2020 Model 3 has something different than other Teslas. Did you see any of these issues? Also, I another Coloradoan looking at your plates, live in Northglenn.

If I currently have the 10.5", is it worth it to change to the current one? I don't really have any issues with the current one other than the vents being blocked.

I honestly don't think you are going to feel too big of a difference with the airflow. Yes, it is much better but still blocks air. So, it is up to you if you think the new UI and after interface is worth the update. I wouldn't upgrade just for the airflow. Thanks.

I'm curious why they can't add the side camera when making a turn signal. I hate having it on the main screen. Feels safer to have it on the screen infront of you to view than looking down towards the right
