A good first hand impression of the motorcycle. I have friends here in Toronto who own the big RSV and the RS660- and by the looks of it, I would say this is the only small motorcycle that looks so close to its elder siblings. Sorry, but even while being a Yammie fan- I'd say neither the R15 nor the R3 come anywhere close to the presence of the R1. The only issue I foresee is after-sales, and if Aprilia could deliver a superior post purchase experience- the RS457 might be their biggest money-spinner in India. Damn, I never noticed the wing under the lights- love it.

Well r15 isn’t replica of r1, but instead it’s a replica of its middle weight category.. V1 was old 1998 R1, V2 was of R6, V3 was of R3 and V4 is of R7, heck they are even using same endurance alloy wheels in both models.. Aprilia has great bikes, but if 457 sells in numerous numbers then it will definitely force yamaha to upgrade r3 and manufacture it here.. I can literally think of rs457 with rear peg set and QS with SC project oval exhaust on a price of current r3..

even tho RC is just a single, I really think it's still the best option for the ones starting on track. Price, light weight, after-sales, range of service, better brakes, all the necessary features including quickshifter. To improve skills is a hell of a start. I’ve been following the news of this bike ever since it has been teased in August of 2023. Absolutely love it ! Amazing ride review as well !!! The only nitpick I have, which will NOT hinder my decision to get this beauty, is I wish the key would be straight when in the ignition position 😂😂😂 (just ocd things). The brake fade is only under very extreme track conditions. Replace it with better pads and you are good to go. I don’t see it as a problem as most owners ride in streets.

Overall sounds like a top contender for a one bike garage to do duty for commuting and longer highway rides, and occasional track days. The quick-shifter should have been standard fitment for sure at that price, but at least it is available as an accessory. Of all the other machines launched in this segment, the RS 457 was one that could have made me regret going for the Speed 400 and not saving up for this. But all things considered, I think I made the right choice for my usage. If the upgrade bug bites in a few years, then I can consider a higher segment. But I have to say, Triumph did the best job of launching the bike and media access with track ride as well as free roam allowed. That enabled the auto journos to give us an insight on both performance as well as daily riding usability. This is the way it should be done.
