I really don't understand what is so confusing about what Armani is doing? All they did was standardize their bottles to make them all the same size, and put a magnetic cap on their Parfum fragrances (AdG Parfum, Profondo Parfum, and Code Parfum). Really not that hard.

@@Cermedia Well one is Eau de parfum, and the other is parfum. Parfum is a common term for 20-40% concentration, eau de parfum is usually a bit less strong. Thats the difference. Sometimes companies will change it a bit if they make a stronger parfum version later on, which can make it smell a bit different. On the bottle it says "eau de parfum" or "Parfum" by itself, which is the newer version.

I hate what they are doing with ADG, I wanted to buy profumo but I jumped onto the bandwagon too late, ADG Parfum turned out to be too weak and the new version (diffrent gradient) is allegedly even worse. Thanks L'Oréal, you never not disappoint

The 2024 version of Parfum, from what I've been told, smells exactly like the porfumo. I have it and it easily lasts 6-7 hours and smells great (even better on skin than from smelling the bottle). The only real difference between the 2024 and the 2023 is that they brought back the incense and lavender from the porfumo. Id definitely recommend.

Acqua Di Gio Profumo was the best of the house it could be worn all year round had great performance even in the winter I still can't believe it was discontinue, ADG profundo smells like hair jell.

I got the 2024 version of the parfum, they brought back insense and lavender (which is what they got rid of from the porfumo when they brought the 2023 parfum), and I'm pretty sure it smells exactly like the porfumo. Id say give It a try.

I hope Armani is listening to your review… because I am also an ADG fan and have every one (including this one that should be arriving today from Jomashop), but I rushed and bought this iteration thinking it was the Produndo EDP 2024 you first reviewed. Oh well, now I am in search of the EDP 2024 as your review of that blew this Parfum flanker out the water. Thanks Ash!

Acqua Di Gio -13- Flankers Armani Code -23- Flankers (Only two Flankers are available for sale: EDT and Parfum) . Profondo is basically an EDP concentration, and we as buyers were laughed at stupidly after the release of a new EDP at a higher price a few months ago, and then the dreaded Profondo Parfum was released with 0/10 LONGEVITY & SILLAGE, and the three perfumes are 95% similar to each other. I was a fan of Profondo from the beginning. A week ago, I received a sample of it. Acqua Di Gio Parfum 2023 edition, and I was impressed with the perfume and its consistency and fragrance because it is similar to Profumo. I bought a 200 ml bottle. The problem is that this is the latest edition with a magnetic cap. It was noticeably diluted. Imagine with seven sprays, and after two hours the perfume disappeared and I could no longer smell it. This is it. Armani Company, my friends, what is important is marketing and making money, and soon the turn will come on the Stronger With You line.

Wooden caps for the old versions, plastic caps with magnets for the new except the ‘cheaper’ scents (edts) as they transition to the smaller sizes… There’s a summer 2024 version of AdG on the cards. Clear and turquoise blue bottle.

Ok. I just tried this. I like it a lot. To my nose it actually smells more like a flanker of ADG Absolu than Profondo. In my opinion it's a slightly darker version of Absolu, and I'm a fan of it. I can see this being somewhat like YSL Myslf in that it may get hate from within the fragrance community but receive a lot of love from the general public.

Honestly, I think it's the minerality smell about profundo that I do not like. Why I bought a bottle a few years ago, and I can't wear it. I think it's that minerality smell. It's like a dry bitter smell

At that price they should absolutely have magnetic caps. Not sure why they’re introducing new flankers AND reformulations at the same time. The bottle sizes being inconsistent is also maddening. You would think Armani would have a cohesive plan for the line, but it feels like different teams are working in different directions.

To confuse the cap issue even farther the bottle of Parfum 2024 I bought from Armani has a magnetic cap 😂 Additionally, I'm not a huge fan either. I've had this about 6 weeks and I agree with all your points. Too sweet and heavy and would reach for the original Profondo over this 9 times out of 10.

On the contrary i enjoy it more than the OG. Its a bit fruitier sweeter so it has more body. Also the gradient bottle and magnetic cap is a few more bonuses😅

I wonder if Ash's opinion of this is going to evolve in the same way his opinion of Dior Homme 2020 did. His initial hesitation with DH 2020 was based on the fact that it did not meet his expectations of what a Dior Homme fragrance was supposed to smell like given the removal of the iris. But as a standalone fragrance, DH 2020 ended up being one of his favorite versatile scents, but it, again, was initially not what he was expecting. Again, this new ADG Profondo Parfum seems not to be what he was expecting as an ADG flanker. Who knows? Maybe as a standalone fragrance he may grow to love it more. He already stated that his opinion of it is a little more favorable as of this video than when he first sprayed it.

Hey Ash , here is my guess. The Parfum 2023 without the magnetic cap had a leakage problem as you also experienced and they also did a new Parfum 2024 refresh with Giorgio Armani on the bottom and a magnetic cap. The Profondo Parfum also released in 2024 has a magnetic cap Giorgio Armani on the bottom and probably no leakage problem. The Profondo EDP 2024 has no magnetic cap because only the 2024 Parfum versions have it. Like a tier list: Parfum 2024 (old Profumo) -> magnetic cap Profondo Parfum 2024 -> magnetic cap Profondo 2024 (edp) -> no magnetic cap Parfum 2023 (old Profumo) -> no magnetic cap /but replaced by Parfum 2024 (old Profumo) -> magnetic cap

With ADG profondo parfum I just got a big blast of the violet leaf note with bits of that sweetness in the opening that you were describing, the mid and dry down were a bit better but nothing to write home about. Enjoyed watching the review though!
