​@@scholaprogenium7276 I have a while to wait for the Japanese and the British books, but what can you infer (if anything) from the german book about how V3 will develop? Where do you see the meta going? Are these books going to be essential? I came to second edition very late and bought the Armies of Imperial Japan Book, which was pretty much useless because all the campaign books had made it mostly obsolete. Good reference material for painting at least.

@jamesspratley8163 I'll be doing a few videos on that topic actually. Big takeaway is a lot of vehicles have gone up in points as veterency pricing is not based on main chassis, but also the load out.

At minute 17:00 the panzer 3 would have taken a massive damage shot from t34-85: he is 6+ heavy gun with a result of 5 on the dice. Total 11 - 8 = 3

Did the GrB 39 get new rules as well? At 24:30 you shoot directly and get 2 hits because they are in a line and wound on 4s instead of the +3 Pen? Can't find this in current rules :)

Happy new year mate! Yeah we've been playing a fair bit of old 2nd edition dystopian wars off camera recently, I've not played mordheim in years but I love it dearly, absolutely fantastic game!

At 1h10m, the shirkers lmg team were only on 2 pins..... their pin die was knocked by another die a few minutes earlier (1h6m).... so they made their order test on 9!

Yeah as you can probably tell I'm chuffed with the updated '39, makes a huge difference being able to direct fire, 30 points is too much but not by far!

Honestly I built it during 1st edition when I had no idea what bits related to which version so I imagine it's not a G, or any of the letters 😅

@@scholaprogenium7276 Barrel length would indicate a Panzer III Ausf J or very early L (long 50mm - what the allies referred to as a "special".

I would have used the HE rounds instead of the mg on the infantry.

HE is a moot point especially with the T-34/76 and it's pathetic 1 inch template. Hitting with main guns is too difficult to be reliable, especially now it's even harder to hit units in open at what was short range (used to be 3+ if stationary, 4+ if moving, now 4+ if stationary, 5+ if moving). At point blank it's still only a 3+ if moving. Easier to put pins using MMGs. But medium tanks are so horribly neutered in V3.

Nice report. If anything it's yet more proof Warlord nerfed tanks too much. A bunch of infantry running in the open should not be able to simply waltz by a pair of T-34s. But ROF6 for 2 MMGs is really dismal firepower whilst main guns are too unreliable (and in any case the 1" template on the T-34/76 is pathetic in anti infantry - historical the HE shell on this weapon had better performance than BA allows it). We've been using mediums a lot since v2 and they were mediocre back then. But infantry in the open still didn't want to be smacked by 20 shots from 2 T-34s hitting on 4s at close range (3+1 for moving). That is something like 5 dead Regulars - usually enough for a check. Now they're crap - 2 x T-34 (minimum 400 pt investment including command) firing 12 shots hitting on 5s (4+1 for moving). That is only 2 dead Regulars on average. I really think Warlord dropped the ball here.

Ngl off camera there was a moment when JP and I looked at each other and agreed theres not much those tanks can do with their guns against the massed penal legion! JP is a good player though and he took the right approach stacking pins in preparation for a tank shock! Not exactly ideal though I agree.

Both units are in the new book. The parts including a gorget are on the new vet sprues, hope this helps.
