New Assassin's Creed Codename Red "Leaks"...

A few days ago a reddit post by Cygus_Lorman, claimed to have spoken with a playtester for Assassin's Creed Codename Red, who shared a lot of information on the game. Now unlike most leaks for the game so far this comes from an unknown source that doesn't have a ton of credibility. So there's a very good chance it could be fake. However it's been making the rounds in the community so I wanted to dicuss the information present in the leak and why I believe it may be a false leak. I always want to try and keep you guys up to date and try to discpher for you what's true and whats false when it comes to these leaks, so hopefully you find this video helpful!

A lot of people seemingly were believing it to, so I wanted to call attention to the red flags and why I believe it to be fake. While also talking about what it claims because most of what it covers does seem plausible based on the other leaks we've heard.

In my experience a massive amount of people don’t have that kind of money too just throw on a computer especially if you have a fixed income or if you’re living from paycheck to paycheck. Not to mention the amount of time it takes to research which monitor, cpu, graphics card etc works best for you it’s all extremely daunting. Getting a console is convenient and mostly affordable, it’s one of if not the biggest reason they were invented. Also xbox has plenty exclusive games to play like Quantum Break, Halo, Sunset Overdrive, Forza Motorsport/Horizon, Gears of War, Starfield, and much more. I think you’re just being picky.

It was the most AC feeling AC since Unity. That's why. It's fine if it wasn't your cup of tea, but there's nothing wrong with those who do enjoy it. And if you think the stealth was "barebones" I don't think you've played most of the series to begin with, which is fine, but to imply that there's something wrong with enjoying the game is kind of dumb.

With Unity’s parkour being the clear fan-favorite, why wouldn’t Ubisoft just spruce up that already-built system and include it into a new game? I’m just confused as to why they would always refuse to go back to the parkour system that is undoubtedly the most popular of any of the games. Makes no sense why they would deprive us of what is clearly the best parkour system in any of the games for ten years now. Does that parkour system take up too much memory or something like that (I know that question is technologically illiterate when it comes to how video games work, but I think you get what I mean lol)? I just can’t make sense of why they would never go back to that parkour system that was universally praised more than any other.

My leading theory is that it takes up too much room on the game that they’d rather use elsewhere like the scenery or map size and all that. But I mean, if Unity was able to incorporate that parkour while also having super rich scenery and npc activity ten years ago, it seems like modern games wouldn’t have a problem using that in-depth of a parkour system. I guess part of it is also because all of the game maps since Unity have been so big and spread out that parkouring through an entire city map in a game like Valhalla or Odyssey is impossible anyway, so they just didn’t bother building up the parkour system since it wouldn’t be that useful anyway on such large maps (while Mirage does have a small, parkour-friendly map, it just built off of Valhalla’s system, so I get why it didn’t have Unity style parkour). I’m pretty optimistic about Red, though, considering it’s built on a new engine. In theory it should be possible to incorporate a Unity level of in-depth parkour while also maintaining every other part of the game that they want to include without having to sacrifice anything (like making a dumbed-down parkour system like the three RPG games have. If Red has parkour at or above Unity’s level and has stealth at or above Mirage or Syndicate level, I will be happy.

I think it's a case of appealing to mass audiences as much as physically possible. Unity's system is a bit more in depth and complex, and mass audiences like things as easy as possible. Hell, the newer system doesn't even need you to hold down the sprint button or any other button, just push forward.

@@thatonetemplar maybe that’s part of it, and maybe I’m just naive about Ubisoft as a company, but it just seems to me like they would want to give the fans a new version of the overwhelming fan favorite system in Unity at some point. There is no way in hell that they don’t already know that Unity’s system is BY FAR the favorite amongst fans, so just on a basic “we care about our fans” sort of level, it seems like something they should do. That said, I’m probably just giving them way more credit than they deserve in terms of how much they care about the core fanbase. In terms of appealing to mass audiences, that makes me wonder what percentage of the people who buy the newest AC games are actually big fans like us who play every game multiple times, and which ones are just casuals who never finish the game. I’m sure the core fanbase makes up AT LEAST 60% of all purchases. At least. Plus, at this point, I honestly feel like AC as a series probably isn’t really all that popular in general these days, and that the core fanbase is probably responsible for the vast majority of money they make. With that in mind, it would make even more sense for them to include overwhelming fan-favorite systems and features to keep fans coming back. Also keep in mind that a lot of fans even love the more sorta clunky parkour systems like AC1 and AC2 because, even though they were still trying to figure things out, those systems still offered so many more parkour moves than later games. So I’m not so sure that a more complex parkour system would really turn that many people off. Mirage was actually sort of a step in the right direction in that sense because it was clearly made to be a love letter to the fans and the original game, and for the most part it excelled at being a classic-feeling smaller AC game that featured a lot of mechanics that fans have been wanting back in the games for nearly a decade. Hopefully that’s a sign that they want to start listening to the actual fans more. Idk, I just know that I’m optimistic for Red at this point based off the things we know and have seen so far.

When you're online and stuff, it is easy to forget that the ones talking about the game are absolutely a minority. The vast swathes of people buying games are casuals who just throw a game on after they get back from work or whatever their life is. They'll buy the new game if they liked the last one enough, simple as that. You are also definitely giving Ubisoft far too much credit. If anything, Ubisoft is one of the worst ones when it comes to giving a shit about their fans. Every company is like this with VERY few exceptions. You should always remember that.

My theory on 8:37 is that the version the person played(if theyre a real beta tester) is an alternate version of code red they made specifically for beta testers or the original idea thet had for it. Which could explain why their interaction with the game could be extremely different than what we get. Not saying theyre real, just that most game developers make different versions for beta testers to play to throw them off.

I worked at Ubisoft... I can assure you most leaks are intentional... I know most things about the new game that are intentionally leaked, which is around 90% of the already known official leaks... I will not disclose any additonal information plus privacy reasons but rest assured every playtester has signed an NDA, and certain leaks are intentional, but usually they don't give much lore details to Playtesters... I used to playtest before Origins and we had a very very tight protocol with stuff like that... And being a friend of a developer does not qualify for a playtest of story content... Also if they playtested they would know the official name already as well which as we all know has not been leaked yet... I can imagine them speculating about all that but from official side I know that some of the stuff of the "Leaks" is bs... Other stuff is from other leaks and similar...
