Looks very promising ........ so far. I want stealth to be DIFFICULT. In Syndicate and Unity you have to make it difficult yourself by not using certain tools that are too op (Phantom blade, Rope launcher) ....... I hope that's not the case here.

I love that people are finally coming around on this game, I always felt like it was going to be good and the more they give us the more sure I am that it will be.

Im not ready to say people are coming around i will say however even tho i am one of the skeptics of this game i am still interested in how they actually tackle the samurai genre in ac i personally would've been interested with or without the controversy like yasuke at the end of the day i like to game not complain ill wait until they show off more and then ill make my decision i will say that its looking better and better now if they can get the combat down ill probably buy the game since thats the most important part of a game to me

@@IronsideGeorge How was it always going to be good if it needed more time? Had it been released when initially scheduled to, it would've flopped. Not even discussing the usual critiques people have had over the game, I still can't look past just how unpolished the game looked. It needed the extra 3-4 months. Which stands to reason that it wasn't "always going to be good." And just in case you want to say that the game looked unpolished because it wasn't release footage, take a look at the release state of Star Wars: Outlaws. I want it to be good. I didn't like Valhalla at all. I thought Odyssey was objectively a better game, if not a good AC game. But the franchise needs a win and let's face it. It took this catastrophe with Ubisoft, the delays on the game, and the horrid launch of Outlaws for this game to maybe come out alright. But it most definitely wasn't going to be good if the original plan for release went through. If you're right and it was always going to be good, we'd be playing the game already. There's truth to what the public has seen and said and that's why Ubisoft delayed it. This game was going to be horrendous, but it just might've been saved with more care, time, and a whole lot of circumstance that we're very lucky for. I think we'll be blessed if Ubisoft makes a TRULY good AC game. It's been many years.

I love that the animations are so much better. You can see Naoe get tossed or her hidden blade get blocked completely. It looks great, in my honest opinion, and it makes me think I need to be more careful when I choose to kill one target over another.

I'm gonna be honest, I know that Ubisoft is known for being on a downfall, but damn if I'm not an idiot that buys every AC game. And tbh, I've been wanting a Japanese AC since forever, and this looks good enough.

I like how the guards are more reactive this time, as you can see when Naoe throws the smoke bomb two guards decided to run away from the smoke instead of just getting stunned doing nothing. Interesting.

Honestly, this looks really good.don't get me wrong i'm still not happy with the parkour.but other stuff such as animation, stealth and open world look really good. It seems like there is finally some competitor for syndicate stealth.

What I like about the smoke bomb gamepaly is that 2 of the 3 actually try to run lutnof the smoke and dont just stand in the middle stunned

this game keeps on going back and forth like there was that thing with the ads and battle pass that kinda made me disappointed, but then we get THIS and i'm back to cautiously optimistic!

I have always wondered what is up with the overly cynical view with AC community in the past decade. AC Shadows is doing a lot of cool things trying to appeal to fans of the old games and new. Not everything will work well with what they desire to move forward with the series such as parkour or Combat or stealth so it has been left behind. I would have liked to do naval campaigns with Oda but the game might not have naval combat but i am fine with it if it is hard to implement same with Social stealth as in crowd blending bevause there sre places where this wouldn't work at all like in castles the only social stealth mechanic i would like to see return eventually is disguises but i think it hasn't because of how broken it can be sometimes that it makes ghosting kinda mindless endeavour and easy with a timer. AC characters of the past had decent to average stealth gameplay but this was always seen as a second thought to me given how easy the combat is as suppose to stealth which i usually engage in because of the mandatory nature of it in many cases. People loved AC Black Flag but i think it is one of the worse AC Games outside the story. The stealth was copy paste AC 3, there werent any opportunities for this and you spend most of your time on the ship. The parkour sucked due to the lack of good environments to do so on, but i dont think AC Fans cared since Japan was the most requested setting yet they know Japan didnt have tall buildings or many cities in the past same as Origins or Black Flag so you will mostly be walking or riding a horse. The only improvement the game had was exploration and naval combat, do you know whats funny the only game to surpass this was Origins and then Odyssey thereafter. The criticism Quebec faces is mostly their story writing, as light tone usually or comedic. Their games are all fun or captivating to play by design when Ubisoft Execs dont force them to monetize their game to the point they ruin the Devs vision for the gameplay. AC Shadows looks to be a more serious game with one really interesting main character, the revenge story that Naoe has is already done to death by Ubisoft with in my opinion Aiden Pearce being the best of them followed by Ezio or Bayek. Yasuke feels like something new yet familiar like in the case of Adewale as someone who feels like an outcast no matter where he goes. So his dynamic with Naoe, might make her a better character if handled well similar to Ade and Edward thise scoundrels of the Carribean. Like the promo said some people just fit well together... in a narrative, as it seems here. Whether this translate in gameplay seems to be the case but it mostly depends on the things we will do more so than what we can do because AC wont reinvent or create new ways to do stealth or combat we have never seen before because you can only do so many different things to kill or hide that it only depends on execution now at this point. The game looks very promising like Origins was but nobody seems to say that or actually acknowledge what its trying to get right. I predict a luke warm reception online with a satisfactory success sales wise until youtubers start making videos in the future like 2026 or 2030 title "AC Shadows: Misunderstood Masterpiece?" or "AC Shadows: I was wrong?", or stuff like that similar to what Unity and Old AC Games like AC 3, AC Syndicate, AC Odyssey which were mocked in the past for variety of reasons. Human beings are so strange. Damned if you do, Damned if you don't is a story as old as time. I am excited and looked forward to the new direction if they deliver the goods in a mostly polished package.

The tantō is a dagger. It’s has a much shorter blade than a katana or the wakizashi (or short sword). And Naōe’s hidden blade is a pivot (similar to Connor’s from AC III) but it’s also a tantō.

All the information really appeals to me, it’s really very good! To answer your question, they don't show all the gameplay to keep us tense and not spoil too much of the surprise too quickly. It's marketing. Don't worry, everything they said will be in the game, they don't tell lies. Maybe we'll see these things in other pey gameplay videos before the game releases, or in gameplay footage from influencers and journalists

Naoe is well on her way to be one of my favorite AC characters. If only she had the game to herself ......... a second protagonist only makes the game shallow. (Just like Syndicate) edit: She should have disguise options like AC3 Liberations.

The dual protagonists in this game look vastly different from Syndicate, and I like it. Both have different skills, weapons, and styles. Also, dual protagonists can work. I actually liked Syndicate because Jacob and Evie were a fun pair of siblings. Glad they added Evie during development.
