Michael Penix Jr. Highlights from all-three days of practice at the 2024 Reese's Senior Bowl. Penix played for the Washington Huskies. He measured 6'2 1/2" and 212 pounds at the Senior Bowl. He led his Husky team to the College Football Playoff Final after passing for 4903 yards, 36 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 2023.

Watched every game he played at UW. Watched the film after every one of them as well. He is a winner. He throws with anticipation, and 90% of the time, it is in stride on the money. He throws as "catchable" a ball as you will ever see. Some of those deep outs, where the ball is travelling 40-45 yards in the air, you don't see at the college level that often. Whoever passes on him are going to look back and say, what were we thinking? Now, Ive never met the guy, so maybe he isn't interviewing very well down there, because there is no reason he should not be the 3-4th QB taken.

I’ve never watched a Michael Penix game without saying “wow!” from at least one throw he makes. When he really cuts it loose the ball jumps out of his hand like a Rodgers, Allen, Herbert, etc pass.

I still think MPJ is going to be one of if not the best QB in this class. The guy has a cannon arm, great pocket awareness, great deep ball touch, good enough mobility to get away from initial pressure and a quick release. The only downsides are injury history and maybe his shorter throw touch. I would love him on the Patriots with the 2nd round pick after taking MHJ with the 1st.

Idk if penix gonna be the BEST of the bunch because i only watched a couple of the other qbs play like once but i agree that if penix stays healthy he's definitely gonna be a really good player

While many are hatin on him, he is still one of the, if not THE top QB in the draft. I mean if Penix is not impressive, as some of you suggest, then no one is. He is just as good, if not better, than every other college QB coming out, so if you "pass" on him then you might as well pass on the others as well and draft a different position. The only thing I saw that shocked me, was his size. While he isn't small per se, I sword he was much bigger, like weight wise.

Lefty CJ Stroud/Joe Burrow where he is is constantly underrated because while they make lack elite size/strength/speed at 6’3 and a skinny 215, he is so elite when mentally processing the game quickly that when paired with great footwork, allows him to anticipate to make the best decision possible on where to deliver the ball. Where Stroud might be the better off-schedule point guard distributor, and Joe Burrow’s with a little more prototypical size, has accuracy that is simply unmatched, Penix 100% has more arm talent/POP off his hand that is natural and that you can’t teach at his elite eraser level that flashes of Stafford or Rodgers when you look at his elite downfield ball placement with velocity (1:42) both on and off schedule and on and off platform especially from different arm angles while the injuries have forced his athleticism to be a forgotten plus.

@@sota6126 Tua’s whole criticism at first was arm strength, then it’s been that his performance drops off when you take away his first read to throw off his footwork to release timing where he doesn’t make plays off-schedule like he does when in rhythm without having to move his feet or arm angle. Penix is biggest natural strength is his pure arm talent to have pop out of his hand, effortless deep accuracy that only like Stafford and Rodgers can relate to. As someone who’s been on the field level with Mike then also been with him personally, he’s much bigger at 6’3 215 than he initially seems with the biggest hands and longest fingers of any NFL QB while Tua is barely 6’1 with small hands as a muscle hamster poly tank. The only reasons they’re compared is that they’re lefties and that because Mike’s injury history has forced people to sleep on his physical abilities that they don’t know if they can trust yet especially with him playin through broken ribs this year.
