For everyone commenting on the 4.8sec Vs 4.4sec from carwow test, note different speeds and devices were used: - Carwow did 0-60 @4.4 with Racebox - This test was 0-62 @ 4.8 with vbox - Autotrader also measured 0-62 @ 4.8 (unknown device, likely draggy). There's some videos around which compare the various devices (vbox, draggy etc) and the Racebox seems to consistently measure the lowest of them all. So carwow had the advantage of 2mph less target speed and a lower reading device. Some reviewers also may enable 1ft rollout which makes it hard to make proper comparisons. Considering most reviews use the vbox, I'd say this Automann result of 4.8sec is the better number to use when comparing to other cars.

Brenton Bock this launch seemed to short shift in 1st and 2nd gears before hitting redline in 3rd. All the other channels I’ve seen don’t have the same “issue”, they all seem to rev cleanly from the get go.

@@timb8095 I see what you mean about the short shift 1st to 2nd. I'd say the cars technical wizardry probably looks at clutch, ambient and tyre temp and determined that a short shift would give a quicker time in those particular conditions. I mean, you can't really fluff a launch control haha. That being said, none of the other times I've seen have come close to 4.4. I still feel that the carwow number is highly optimistic. I've never seen another review that uses Racebox and it certainly isn't the industry standard (yet) that other cars have been timed on.

The reason for this steering wheel are new European regulations that do not allow a flat steering wheel if assistance systems are installed! The flattened steering wheel is now only available for vehicles from 2021 onwards without assistance systems!

Picked one up 2 weeks ago. It does short shift in launch in 1st and 2nd gears until approx 500 miles. Now my car redlines on launch through the gears. I’m wondering if Audi included a software break in period for the DSG in the ECU? Who knows??

@@garethc78 that’s an interesting thought and observation in your case and it does make sense, although at the 17 second mark in the video, you can see that this car has 4531km on the clock.

@@timb8095 mate I didn’t notice the mileage on this test car, you are far more observant than me 😂 I don’t really know then as I only launch mine after oil is >90 and I have been driving it a while, perhaps the fact it seems to launch better with a few hundred miles on the clock is a placebo effect on me. I also don’t own draggy or any other timing products so can’t give comparison figures for sprint times (but I do notice the upshift being later in first and second than it was a few weeks ago) Mine is totally stock as I have contacted ABT and currently there are no products available for this model (give them time!) the usual basic ABT remap gave the old one an extra 70hp and 100Nm of torque so I’m patiently waiting for its release! (If I have the balls to invalidate the warranty 😂)

Zumindest der non-opf Golf 7.5 R schafft genau die selben Zeiten (siehe euer altes Video dazu) und ist sicherlich nicht signifikant langsamer ;) Darüber hinaus: super Video, wie immer!

Naja der faire Vergleich ist ja eher der aktuelle Golf R mit OPF...und da ist dieser S3 messbar schneller. Der von uns getestete Golf R aus 2018 hatte keinen OPF und sogar noch die Akra die auch ein paar PS bringt. Und der war mit 12.1 sogar noch minimal langsamer. Also finde schon das der hier überraschend gut geht....aber natürlich ist das alles ähnlich im Speed!

Erneut muss ich das erwähnen: Wie schon beim GTI sind das alles Pressefahrzeuge. Messt doch mal die wahre Leistung dieser Fahrzeuge. Dieser gezeigte S3 hat niemals 310 PS. Für 11,8 Sekunden benötigt man doch noch etwas mehr Leistung. Ich schätze auf ~330-340 PS

Ich habe schon bei dem neuen A35 und A45/s gedacht es wäre schlimm mit dem Sound. Aber liebe Audi Sound Designer das kann doch nicht euer Ernst sein. Ein Golf 4 1,9tdi klang ja besser. Auch wenn es Vorschriften heutzutage sehr hart sind kann man den Klang doch wenigstens so optimieren das sich das ganze ein wenig dumpfer anhört und nicht wie ein Dyson mit lagerschaden.

Insgesamt finde ich die Qualität im Innenraum gut, an ein paar Stellen ist das Material vielleicht nicht ganz auf Vorgängerniveau aber dafür war in unserem Fzg. die Verarbeitungsqualität Top! Ich würde den S3 immer noch oberhalb M135i und A35 einordnen was quali anbelangt.

I don’t know why it decided to shift in to 2nd Gear so early. I’ve seen my RS3 do it in Sport mode. But now I just use manual mode if I do launch control

Automann-TV How many launches before that clip did you do? I know when I went to the drag strip with my RS3, it was cool outside. After each run I waited 30 minutes. Some launches it shifted at redline first to second. Some shifted early. All were done in sport mode. Mine actually did the quarter mile in 12.029 seconds at 113.7 mph. Our US spec cars are pretty much pre OPF. But ours come with the catalytic converters in the midpipes. I went straight to the euro midpipes without the cats.

Its Just reasoned by the Turbo spool. Most cars these days reach their full boost in second gear due to the displacement/turbo size ratio. So is makes sense to Shift earlier to take the benefits of the higher Boost/torque, Even if the gear Is longer.

Alle die sich über den Klang beschweren: Ich bin einen Golf 7 GTI auf 410PS umbau gefahren ( straight pipe ), danach einen GT86 mit ner Invidia N1 Aga. Glaubt mir, laute Autoes nerven nicht nur die Umwelt! Auch einem selbst wird es nach einiger Zeit auf den Senkel gehen. Wenn man bei 120Km/H das Radio ausmachst, weil du sowieso nichts mehr hörst.... Der Klang des S und auch RS sind Mmn perfekt für den Alltag!

But I guess the 100-200 time is not corrected like you can do it with the Dragy Box? So, if you don't mind the slope, you can do it with an Golf R oder Curpa too

Test was done on 0% slope and compared to 0% slope of our Golf R test. I would not argue about a tenth or two but this is about 1.4 sec faster 100-200 than our Golf R...and that’s quite a noticeable difference🙏

Its a Haldex system we know that. But is it FWD only until the wheels lose traction or is there a difference with S and RS models? The A4-A8 are all TorSen but this one?

The RS3 has rear wheel torque vectoring, basically borrowed from the new Golf R, while the S3 only has the old Haldex system
