This deck deserves a better cart than the vm95e. I really wish they'd stop including built-in phono pre-amps for tables of this quality. Adding the 78 speed is a new twist.

Does it have a built in Phono amp? Is the plinth %100 plastic?

The main baord is all MDF, but the components all differ, the tonearm, weights etc. are all metal, it doesn't have a phono stage built in so you'd need a seperate phono stage for this to work

I am really surprised that it doesn't have a strobe and fine speed adjustment. Esp. for a direct drive turntable.

The sound is dictated more by the cartridge than anything else in my opinion, the EN it’s fitted with (Eliptical buds) is great for detail retrieval, so should give a nice warm, deep soubd
