I’m gonna get in trouble for saying this: I’m a 90’s baby who grew up on early 2000’s comics. LISTEN, THIS WAS MY AVENGERS. Bendis was killing it during this time (in my opinion). I remember reading this stuff for the first time and was blown away, having a blast. Truly the only words that go to my head reading this for the first time was “BAD ASS” haha. Yes I am buying this yet AGAIN in hopes for them to collect the rest of this era. Watching this overview brought up some emotions due to my excitement and nostalgia looking at the beautiful artwork. Omar as always great in depth overview broham. This run means so much to me. 😢❤😁🤘🏾

This whole run really needs to be collected(including Mighty/Dark/etc). I know he usually isn't a revered author by those born before the 90s, but this run is iconic. And he was behind most of the big events through the 2000s, it deserves the omni treatment.

I always appreciated that Bendis took the time to explain why the old team and most of its members were no longer around and then built a new team from the ashes. Whereas Hickman just chose to ignore Scarlet Witch, She Hulk, Wasp, Vision, Ant Man etc completely and yet started his story with 'we need to get bigger', even though the team was already huge. Never made sense to me...

Excited for this one. Enjoyed the _Dark Avengers_ and _Thunderbolts: Dark Reign_ TPS recently so hoping this has alot of the same vibes as loved the treatment of characters such as Norman Osborn, Bullseye, Sentry, etc in those so interested to see what else was happening around this era. Standard Edition looks perfect to me

I sold my first print with the Quesada cover years ago thinking they'll never print volume 2. But I have faith Marvel will one day! This was peak Bendis along with his run on Ultimate Spidey, Jessica Jones and his phenomenal run on Daredevil. The aughts were a great time for Marvel.

i already have this omnibus i picked up for like 160 new and sealed, a year or so ago on ebay, honestly im not even that mad, the new printing is IDENTICAL to mine besides under the dust jacket, but i think the orignals looks cooler with the faux leather and red embossed lettering, i even have the DM cover.

I had really hoped that instead of reprinting this they would have made this Avengers by Bendis line that would collect all his Avengers titles and events like Secret War, House of M, Secret Invasion etc.

I am glad "we" have waited long enough for the fans of this run to come out and not fear the onslaught on negative comments. I am fairly neutral on the run itself, I really like parts of it, I also understand where people do not feel the characters are themselves. IT depends a lot on how much you previously read avengers, and also how willing you are to see change/inconsistency.

its ironic in order for the avengers to blow up they had to pretty much dismantle everything about them.....and basically make the marvel jla....I personally prefer the old school avengers a place for characters without other teams that are relatively minor on there own combined with some characters that are popular enough to hold down there own books....a good avengers roster to me is captain america,,ironman, thor(characters with there own titles) mixed with characters like scarlet witch, vision, black knight, hawkeye etc maybe throw in a black panther(who also has own title) on occasion...wolverine and spiderman I never felt made for good avengers spiderman feels to big for them and kind loses what makes him so good as a solo hero and wolverine back when he was more of a loner and not really a nice guy but who found a family with the xmen overtime just became a victim of popularity and thrown on every team marvel could think of regardless if it fit the nature of character or how it could be ruined by overexposure....but it worked...for a time anyway but even that novelty of them as avengers wore off....I never felt bendis was good at giving characters individual voices and personalities...everybody kind of felt quippy in his team books for the most part...contrast that with his work in daredevil which I must admit is quite good and im not a bendis fan.

It would've been fantastic if they could've fitted in House of M (8 issues) and Civil War (7 issues), the books already huge so another 15 issues wouldn't have made much difference. Hopefully they'll add Mighty Avengers to volume 2!

They seem to vary. So I only got into collecting mid 2023, and only buy via Amazon. Seen alot of hype for the recent DC Versus Marvel omni', so expected that to sell out quickly but seemed to be steadily available. The Dr Doom omnibus seems to be the one that sold out quickest since I've been collecting, although there's a chance that that released ahead of when I managed to get a copy.

Since I started (4 years ago on Thursday) things seem to have slowed down a lil bit but that may be down to Marvel making more omnis than they may have done back then and certainly pre lockdown, plus money just being generally tighter for more people too. There is still the odd book that gets people giddy though, why we’ve now got more omnis ranking high on the reprint polls that I bought when the previous printings were out when I started.
