For what they are, the asking price is not steep at all. The leather is nice (also smells good) and the premium construction are well worth it. Furthermore, the sound quality of these headphones are just phenomenal and will blow many headphones at its price range out the water.

Great review as always, I just have one piece of advice, when you're dealing with a series 1 and 2 or version 1 and 2 comparison why not just say the v1 (version 1) is not as good as the v2 (version 2) because us as subscribers know what the name of the headphone is when its listed in the video title so it would make it easier on yourself not having to say the entire name of the headphone when doing a comparison on the old model and newer models.. just my opinion though, love all your videos as always!

I remember trying these on at Jb Hi Fi a few years ago. I felt the ears heated up against my ears after a while which wasn’t very comfortable. Haven’t looked at them since. Had some P7s which were amazing and now looking to get the PX.

Tsup Mike. Nice vid... I personally very much enjoy and prefer when ur unboxings include opinion. Keep up the great work. Btw, would u consider the P5 V2 a neutral headphone?
@HiFiInsider10 жыл бұрын
Stephen Spangenberg not neutral at all. Very midrange centric.

Personally in my opinion, as I noticed that you (consistently mentioned about the looks) but not sound, how I see it may be different for others but I would say it's partly about looks, but Mostly about (Specs & sound) like let's be honest Any pair of headphone's could stand out from the rest but I'm certain You wouldn't want to listen to them if they sounded terrible. Just my opinion from my taste in wanting what my $ pays for.

It sounds good like a vintage two way 1970s speaker with the 5 inch mid range and the 12 inch woofer which makes for a warm mid range Drivin Sound LOL.

These are portable right? Right? ... I manage to find fault with them... Idk if you guys have faced the same issue but as I walk around with this on... it pick up hissing noise due to some minor wind... really irritating..

What I discovered with these pads is they seal on your ear locking in the pressure much like an in ear would. If you are not a fan of in ears these might not be for you.
@sequoiagrovemetal9 жыл бұрын
I assume you test wihtout equalizer so you might prefer the soun dof one over the other. it is quite different if you make both sound as good as possible to your preference. I did that and found no reason to upgrade. I use Accudio to flatten teh response and from there add the deepest bass (both lack that) and highs (both lack that). but I noticed that the P5_1 needed no higher bass, while P5_2 did, and P5_1 needed more higher treble than lower treble, and P5_2 needed more lower Teble than higher treble. But after this rebalancing I was just as happy with the sound on P5_1 as P5_2. Ill get P5_2 when my P5_1 are broken. Most headphones cant even be equalized to my liking (sennheisers for example). I also like Shure and Audio Technica M40. I couldnt equalize AT M50 to my liking though. Noone of them comes close to teh clarity and crunchiness of hte midtone in P5 1 and 2 though. that cant be equalized in.

do you run headphoes in before reviewing them? as the diaphragm in the drivers is considered a moving part they always start out stiff and only sound they're best after around 12 hours running in, so reviewing is usually best done after this 12 hour usage period

I got a pair from Amazon and im pretty disappointed to be honest - I dont know if its normal but I get a lot of popping type noises if I move my facial muscles (eating for example) but especially when im walking around listening to music. Its really irritating, I guess its the flush against the ear pads leaking air with movement?
@paul5.2r9 жыл бұрын
+ukstevey That is for sure NOT NORMAL. I have had my version 1 P5s for a long time and they have never done that. Yours are for sure defective.

Still don't like them. Too mid-bass/low-mid heavy with uneven treble response. Don't like the P7 either, too U-shaped and not natural sounding. A lot better than the P5 models in terms of resolution and refinement though.
