Can we just take a moment to acknowledge how fast Nick is ... Strava "Lunch Run" 24k, just over 90mins, almost bang on 4min k's, Relative Effort 47 !!! Ice cool 🙂

I am 194cm / 100kg and love my Mach 6. Wanted something with NO plate. The shoes are plenty fast when I want and comfortable too. Went 1/2 size UP and wide fit.

I have the Rebel v4. While the upper can look loose in areas they are actually very stable on turns and I experience far less sliding around inside vs other shoes in my rotation. It handles slower stuff but I can’t help but want to run faster due to the weight and spring.

Cheers for the review guys. Is the Superblast still the GOAT super trainer? Despite coming out in 2022... don't think another trainer has got close to the SB performance on long runs (and recovery after)!

If you can, pay the extra money for the Asics Superblast, otherwise go with which one suits you best, would be New Balance for me!

I’m 51 and recently got the rebel V4 . It’s a brilliant shoe for just cruising. But if you want to drop the hammer it’s all good. Had a bad knee injury recently and it’s been safe as houses . Also love the cloudsurfer and the Clifton 9😎

What's your view on rocking the Mach 6 for a full marathon? Did one with the Mach 5 and had absolutely no issues - I actually loved the ride!

where I live the Mach 6 MSRP is exactly the same as the Superblast 🤯

It was a very intense match at the Reale Arena. In fact, due to the tension of the match and the adverse result for the home team, the fans of La Real were the sad protagonists.

Great review, thanks. Does the Rebel have enough pop to race 5k and 10ks in?
@dinkthinks39587 ай бұрын
I have the Rebel and would totally race a 5k in it. Super light and just the right bounce without the mush. I haven’t raced a 5k in a while but this shoe blows away the shoes I used to race those in!

For sure. Best non carbon shoe you can get right now imo (make sure to size up 1/2)

I want a new shoes for half marathon, which one should i buy?

Definitely go for the mach 6, the midsole is much more responsive than that of the rebel v4 - due to the greater supportive cushioning of the mach 6 that will keep you engaged and going easier and comfortable especially for half a marathon and even more. The rebel has a very soft cushioning which feels bouncy but very grounded, it may cause you to have abit quicker bursts of speed than the mach 6 but that’s very limited and is not as engaging or long going as a mach 6 in terms of a marathon.
@alb.19112 ай бұрын
Unfortunately the Rebel v4 is too wide, they should make a normal version because many are complaining about that.

which one would you recommend for an half marathon in a 70.3 triathlon? i’m not a fast runner, my time is 42’ on the 10k and I weigh about 72kg. I already have the MachX but I prefer lighter shoes. Also was considering the Boston 12.

mach 6, I have tried both and the midsole is much more responsive than that of the rebel v4 - due to the greater supportive cushioning of the mach 6 that will keep you engaged and going easier and comfortable especially for half a marathon and even more. The rebel has a very soft cushioning which feels bouncy but very grounded, it may cause you to have abit quicker bursts of speed than the mach 6 but that’s very limited and is not as engaging or long going as a mach 6 in terms of a marathon. I weighed about 85 and when I got the mach 6, speed was never an issue for me anymore - it really supported me to work on my weight and balance because it feels like you’re running on a very engaging and responsive cloud, takes the whole strain from your legs. The Rebel is not that far away from that feeling but overtime, you start feeling that ground feeling and it isn’t as fast. Mach 6 is much lighter than your Mach X - Rebel is even more lighter but just slightly than the Mach 6 and considering the differences I just mentioned, Mach 6 is much better especially for half a marathon.
@dariolofino3 ай бұрын
@@shadowbetrayer_1014 thanks man. In the end I ran the triathlon half marathon with my MachX and they were more than ok, enough cushioning if you’re tired but also boost if want to push. I’m still considering to buy the Mach6 or similar either for shorter races like 10k in the olympic distance triathlon or to use in the marathon preparation i just started, paired Clifton9 and MachX that I already have. Or why not, for an half marathon alone, but maybe there I’d wanted something faster there? who knows 😂

this is a great option for people who don’t like or prefer plates, personally not sure if i’m a fan of early studies that have come out on carbon/nylon plates where people are having to get future hip replacements because of the redistribution of load to this area 🤷🏻♂️
@DonalG457 ай бұрын
@@matthewgarcia9502 Would be curious if you have any links to studies that actually show this. I've heard of concerns about redustribution of load but suggesting that there is evidence of people needing future hip replacements sounds like a very big leap. How would you even assess for that?

@@DonalG45 look for the doctors of running podcast on yt, they touch on this in ione of their in depth looks at carbon/nylon plated shows. yikes. i’ve also not had the best experience in them it feels very unnatural. if they work for you though great!
