Great artist, managed to see him perform live in a Dutch discotheque back in '83. One of the very few artists who stayed on their feet giving a real live performance!

So glad this video has been posted. Rare live performance w/audio that is not garbled. Two of his best tracks. Saw him perform this same set live in DC. Such a talent that was underappreciated and lost way too soon.

he NEVER gets mentioned with the greats that went before him or after him, for that matter...and its not right. But for barely a handful of contestants on American Idol, I hated that show...because it flew directly in the face ogf what the show should have ALWAYS been about from the start...THE SINGING VOICE, not the way some chicks' hair looked while she was singing. Sylvester, knew something about a gimmick...but he NEVER would have climbed the heights he climbed had it not been for the thing that grabbed your attention right away...it was his voice. There is no voice like this in music. Yes, I can rattle of names of superstars like Prince, Philip Bailey and even Michael Jackson, who knew how to sing falsetto. BUT THEY DIDNT SING IT LIKE SYLVESTER!...Look at singer/performers like a Boy George, and the late, great George Michael and the late, Pete Burns. ALL OF THEM, came into the business a bit easier, because the way for a flambouyant gay man, was already paved for them, by none other than Sylvester.
