This doll was very expensive and limited in quantity. She sold out and is going for hundreds on eBay. I can’t recall price from Mattel Creations, but the Target listing was $150 USD. She was also supposed to be at FAO Schwartz, but is not there now. I missed out on the notice because I let my Barbie membership lapse, but I wasn’t sure I wanted to spend that much anyway. Maybe for Silkstone, but she isn’t.

The Little Mermaid gift set box is a total con. It costs $100 and I was going to get it but then MmDisney200 did an unboxing… Ursula’s legs are plush so she doesn’t stand up and she’s two inches shorter than the other dolls, Eric isn’t articulated well, the fashions are cheaply made and Sebastian is a recycled figure from the ’Kiss the Girl’ play set. Recently it seems like Disney dolls just aren’t worth the extortionate prices.

Ursula dolls are allways fabric. It's to help with the " octopus tentacle" thing. You can buy it if you want, but they've never actually had a " budget doll" of Vanessa. Also in England ( which is where I & BIAB come from) it's around £120 but each doll is worth £25 so it's roughly the same as buying each doll separately

I think the fashionista t-shirt dress might have another reason. It’s probably one of the few clothing items that would fit all body types of Barbie dolls.

The reason they paint tops on dolls with multiple Clothing/ fashions is so they are always covered when kids are changing them (this reinforces the Motion that some areas of the body are private).

I'll never forget the fashion packs they made in the mid to late 90s. I look at what's available now and genuinely cringe. I hate that my daughter doesn't get to experience the quality that I did as a child when it comes to the dolls, the clothing and also the furniture. I legit last year went on ebay and found 5 furniture sets from my childhood and bought them for her for Xmas instead of the crap they produce these days 😒. Just such a shame.

Hair bun hair doll looks ok, agree his outfit is bad if they kept the top but dis a black and white swim trunk or even some jean shorts with converse style shoes would look good. Also if the cutie reveal dolls we're say 15-25canadian I could see people collecting them even more and doing a doll version of the masked singer

Seeing you've posted always improves my day! - I actually love the fashionista with the good vibes dress! I might get her. Her face kind of reminds me of Leona Lewis. (I'm surprised that I like that dress too, because I don't normally like the graffiti style nor the potato sack dresses, but for some reason this one I vibe with). I like the gingham dress one too. Also, yes - I really hope we get more fashionistas with trousers, that one looks great! - I love the tiger cutie reveal, I love tigers a lot (but again why does she have one pink leg?) - I absolutely love the vintage 12 days of christmas doll and I really want her but she sold out so quickly :( - That holiday Tinkerbell would be amazing to use as a tree topper

The painted on / molded tops reaaaaaally are amazing when you have a child that is trying to dress a doll but doesn’t necessarily have the skill to get the doll dressed easily. For example w the hasbro Disney shimmer dolls you hate haha the molded top to me is the entire reason we have them all - it’s so easy for her to just switch the skirts out. Makes for easy outfits

Unlike the t-shirt dress, trousers are a relatively complicated pattern, that's probably why we so rarely see Fashionistas wearing them. Which is a shame, because I don't want to be sewing doll trousers either 🙂

The same way Mulan, and to an extent Tinkerbell and Alice, shouldn´t be Disney Princess (for obvious reasons) that doesn´t mean there shouldn´t be dolls for Esmeralda, Kida, Megara and even Jane. In fact, come to think about it, technically Megara is Princess (having married Hercules, a "Prince" to the King of the Gods. And it would be amazing if Disney decided, at least once, make a doll for an actuall Princess they own: Eilonwy from The Black Cauldron. Yes, she´s too young but they have made dolls of Alice and Wendy as well.

The 12 days of Christmas doll was $160 usd and it has already sold out 😞 I managed to grab one on the FAO Schwarz website but she’s not shipping til next month. People who ordered from Mattel are getting December dates for their expected delivery 😢 they’re going for over $400 on eBay now, and people are ACTUALLY buying her 😬

About the fashionistas always wearing shirt-dresses and never wearing trousers, I think Mattel does this because this line has dolls with diverse body types, so the want the clothes to fit in different types of dolls. And I would love an unboxinb of the new Christmas doll! 😍

I love that advent calendar I wouldn't mind having it but I'm sure it's going to be expensive. I would love to see a box opening of it though. I had heard about the made to move ballerinas and was excited until I saw a better picture. I do not like that their shoes are molded on so I won't be able to use this doll for anything. 😩

All the new Barbie cutie reveals are harlequin, the elephant is grey and blue, you can see the legs, also the tiger has a bright pink, and even the toucan has miss matched legs. They also have Chelsea cutie reveals with jungle as well.

Barbie will never know freedom until Mattel lets the shift, A-Line and T-shirt dresses DIE. The stranglehold it has on them... Someday I would love to know the design principles that Mattel used to follow when it came to designing Barbie's fashions back in the day because it seemed so thoughtful and methodical. Whereas almost anytime Barbie has a design now it'll just be everything thrown at the wall in terms of print, with the most basic silhouettes and then they'll always have the accessories and/or shoes in a random color that's not featured anywhere else in the design. It's like basic design 101. So many aspects of the looks would come across better and be much more cohesive if they just did that but they don't because...... I honestly can't fathom why. Mattel it's okay to make your accessories dye to match!!!

Also, I never use to care too much about what Ken was wearing back in the day, you'd never catch me begging my mom to purchase me a Ken Fashion Avenue pack, but at least there was still thought put into his most basic styles, he still looked chic. I feel like Mattel is always trying to overthink when it comes to design while trying to figure out a way to cut costs, but you can still achieve great looks, that lean more basic without doing the most. There's a reason why there are a lot of fashion influencers who thrive off of simplicity. Anywho, that dark-skinned Ken though, with the hair is STUNNING by the way, this outfit doesn't do him justice and it makes me cry 🥲. Also I hate the fact that Mattel is totally okay with leaving unturned merrowed edges on their basic Barbies outfits. It just reads so cheap an unfinished... SIGGHHH. I could go on all day...
