Great work !! :) I think after New Barrackpore, Metro alignment with Jessore road will be better rather than with Madhyamgram / Barasat Railway line. As railway line itself connects to city & is traffic free. So instread, We need to connect Bus passengers to metros directly. Which will make the Jessore Road area also less congested as less people will take the bus then.

@@Oloshbikel have realistic expectations. আমিও চাই BJP আসুক, কিন্তু এটা ভাবি না যে ওরা আসলেই সব ঠিক হয়ে যাবে। সংবিধানের article 311 টা দেখলে সহজেই বোঝা যায় যে আমাদের সংবিধান সরকারি বাবুদের অযথা অনেক বেশি ক্ষমতা দিয়ে রেখেছে। এদের মেয়াদ 60 বছর, রাজনৈতিক লড়াই জিতে আসা নেতাদের শুধু 5 বছর। রাজনৈতিক নেতাদের 5 বছর পরে ভোটে হারিয়ে বিদায় করা যায়। সরকারি বাবুদের 60 বছরের আগে তাড়ানো খুব কঠিন। খুব বেশি এদিক ওদিক transfer করা যায়। তাই রাজনৈতিক নেতাদের থেকে বাস্তব সম্মত আশা রাখা উচিত। তারা নির্বাচনে জিতে, মন্ত্রি হয়ে, যত দিনে কাজটা বুঝবে, তার মধ্যে পরের নির্বাচন এসে যাবে।

@@partagashabaneros সরকারি বাবু হতে যোগ্যতা অর্জন করতে হয়। রাজনীতি করতে গেলে আজকাল পড়ার দাদা নাহয় দুটো সিরিয়াল করলেই হয়। দুটোর মধ্যে তফাৎ আছে। রাজনৈতিক নেতা রা 5 বছরে কাজ বুঝতে পারে না কিন্তু টাকা নিতে খুব ভালোই পারে।

I think so that it is even better to run direct trains from Kavi Subhash to Barasat as a extension of the line 1. It eliminates the need and time for the transfer betwwen line 4 and 1. Very detailed video. Thanks for the info.

The sad part for me is, after all these years, the stretch between New Barrackpore and Barasat still haven't been finalized, let alone starting of construction. Coupled with the same situation for the entire Barrackpore line, I wonder if we will ever see construction of all the lines planned for Kolkata metro :(

Wish CPIM besides Cholchey na cholbe na in 1980-90 would have acquired some land to make wide roads in barasat and madhyamgram to allow metro to infiltrate and similar story in baruipur rajpur section.

5 things which the new government (whoever wins) should do during their term:- 1. Give the control of operating, planning Kolkata Metro fully to KMRC as a separate body. Indian Railways should be relieved of this duty. Funding would be done by both State & Central Govt. If this results in slight increase in price then it should be accepted but atleast make the operations efficient. Remove the old 1980's coaches and order new ones preferably from an Indian company or someone manufacturing in India. 2. Remove the corrupt officials who are sitting on files or who have a habit of doing so for years in various ministries. Government sitting in Kolkata needs to act like the UP government in cleaning the corrupt officials. Till the time these Babus are not removed, no progress can take place. UP Govt. has been very good in land acquisition be it in expressways or other works inside the cities, main reason is the way it cleaned up it's ministries. So one can possibly take a few suggestions from them in bringing Administrative Reforms specially in terms of land acquisition. 3. Implement reforms announced by the Central Government be it Labour Reforms, Agricultural Reforms, New Education Policy, Ease of Doing Business Reforms apart from other Reforms announced by the government. Also implement schemes of Central Government like Ayushman Bharat so that the Social indicators start improving. 4. Fastrack work on Infrastructure projects specially the big ones like Kolkata- Siliguri 6 lane expressway (connect other cities like Kharagpur, Durgapur & Cooch Behar with Feeder expressway routes), Silliguri Metro, International & Domestic Airports, land acquisition for Dedicated Freight Corridors in the state, construction of Tajpur & Sagar port. Take the help of Nitin Gadkari ji in implementing Road projects. 5. Most importantly hold a Global summit for investment in the state. Tell the investors about what you are doing to help set up industries, the infrastructure you have, the Reforms you have implemented and the confessions which you are willing to give them. Once FDI starts coming in the state more infra projects will get introduced and more companies will be interested in coming to the state. Bengal has an advantage of being a Coastal state which makes it favorable for exports so that is a certain plus point which can be shown to the investors. If possible the Government can also announce a New Industrial Policy to attract businesses from China. Just one major thing is required to do all this I.e Political Will with a Capitalism Mindset. Yes Socialist policies are required but ultimately it's the Capitalist policies which will help the state grow. 70%of Capitalism & 30% Socialism would be the ideal ratio.

Has the ‘Mahisbathan’ section of New Garia to Airport rail line been bridged yet? Beginning to sound like it will require another act of God and God only knows how many such acts have been performed to keep New Garia to Airport line construction ongoing. I bring it up since without this line being operational will Noapara to Barasat line be functional? Good job!

I LIVE IN KAIKHALI AREA AND I AM WAITING FOR A DECADE FOR OPENING OF THIS IMPORTANT LINE. IN MY REGULAR COMUTE, I SEE GOOD PROGRESS AND SPEED ON AIRPORT METRO STATION CONSTRUCTION BUT CONSTUCTION OF VIADUCT FROM NOAPARA TO DUMDUM CANT TO JESSORE ROAD IS EXTRIMLY SLOW. SADLY I THINK IT WILL TAKE ANOTHER 3-4 YEARS TO OPEN THIS LINE. ALSO METRO LINE FROM AIRPORT TO BARASAT WILL TAKE ANOTHER DECADE, PROBALLY AFTER 2032 OR MAY BE AFTER 2035 SINCE IT WILL GO UNDERGROUND FROM BT COLLEGE TO BARASAT(AS PER MY ESTIMATE AND SURVEY).METRO LINE UPTO NEW BARRACKPUR MAY OPEN BY 2026-28 TIMEFRAME. CONSTRUCTION OF MADHYAMGRAM, HRYDAYPUR AND BARASAT STATION WILL STILL REQUIRE SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF VERY TRICKY LAND AQUISITION AND DON'T FORGET LONG LONG LITIGATION. IT WILL BE A NIGHTMARE FOR TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT TO MANAGE THIS DURING THE CONSTRUCTION OF THESE FUTURE STATION SINCE MOST LIKELY IT WILL BE BUILT IN CUT AND COVER METHOD. SOME TIME I FEEL IT MAY NOT SEE THE LIGHT OF THE DAY EVEN IN 2050. NEVERTHELESS AGAIN ITS A WONDERFUL UPDATE FROM MRB, KEEP DOING YOUR JOB. LOOKING FORWARD FOR YOUR NEXT EPISODE, THANKS.
