Just throwing money at any project is not enough. The reason for less budget allotment is the slow pace. Kolkata metro is the slowest metro rail project in the country. Although the Kolkata metro is under ministry of railways, the responsibility of relocating encroachers lies with the state government. Our state government has shown zero to little interest in that. Other metro systems like Namma metro or Chennai metro are getting good budget allocation because they make things work. There is negligible presence of the BJP party in Tamilnadu still Chennai metro got 63k crore budget allotment this year. It's not like they don't face problem of encroachment. Their government relocates people and compensates them handsomely which our government has clearly failed to do. Even the companies working on the Kolkata metro keep complaining about little help from state government and some of them have already left the projects.

Sir, I just want to say. Barasat metro is extremely very difficult , if ever going to happen in future according to its view of geographical conditions as surrounded.But why don't railway government step forward to make this branch of eastern railway ie Sealdah- Bangaon route into triple or Quadraple route to runs multiple emu trains as possible. Because this is the most crowdiest route of eastern railways.

You didn't listen him carefully..he told that, survey report and DPR (detail project report) will take five years, whereas implementation period is uncertain and indefinite, which means it may not start even in next 20 years, forget about completion.

@@shngain100 DPR was prepared till barasat long back..DRP till New Barrackpore stands valid as no realignment is required..but after New Barrackpore, realignment to underground is proposed due to encroachment issue..hence new DPR to be prepared for rest of the route..Here, we are are talking about New Barrackpore just after Birati..not the Sodepur- Barrackpore..!

This metro line is badly needed and the construction along the Jessore road makes more sense than along the local railway tracks as it will be much easier for majority to access the metro. In the morning the trains to Sealdah are overcrowded and the buses to other parts of Kolkata are also overcrowded and the traffic is also immense near airport. It will give some breathing space to people of Barasat and also people coming to the city from other parts of the district.

Possibilities of introducing metro in Siliguri, Asansol and Durgapur should be explored on priority basis as these places are growing at rapid pace. If things are planned from now onward, implementation of projects in these cities may not face much hindrances. When other states are introducing metro services in several cities, why should we at Bengal remain as mere spectators. Hope concerned authorities will look into the matter seriously.

Why don't they think of extending the Barasat Metro to Kalyani taking the Barasat Barrackpore road and then following the Kalyani Expressway. The latter part could be fully elevated. There is ample space along Kalyani Expressway to build a Depot so that problem will also be solved.

All of your videos are excellent with the grafics and amezing editing. You are the best you tube channel on this subject. However, it's not synonyms for Kolkata Metro, as you rightly said, the only progress of our metro we can bank on, is Hope. The kind of time it takes to build on route (like Joka, Barasat, Dakshineswar etc), the rest country finishes several routes in multiple cities...still they don't have what we have - Hope.
