I think it best that they pick up where they left off with the reboot the lore does state " all of this has happened before & will happen again the cycle of time.. Say they start us off on earth this time millions of years later humans have developed space flight.. they find the Galactica next to the sun, they also find stone tablets written by Gaius baltar buried in the desert prophecy, and a war to come from the cylons have at least two to three seasons of humans slowly working out that the 12 colonies exist somewhere out in space but keep them close to earth and then in season 2 or three have the cylons turn up.. and any AI or robots suddenly turn on the humans and they have to fight to get off earth then the trip back to the 12 colonies... i think that makes more sense tbh maybe starbuck has to find a way to break the cycle of time

I always wanted a continuation from 2004 BSG to an Era of Modern to Future Earth where the History begins to repeat itself yet again. Like in the BSG 1980 series where they were secretly advancing Earths Technology but this time it would have been the Cylons from the Last Episode that took the Base Star teaching us from behind the scenes.

Hate to say it but Trump realized that you can't always use fancy big words or you turn off the masses who are down to Earth. Top Gun 2 Cool is the way to go and has been re-proven that even as the times changes, the humans evolve slower than tech. In order to speed up Human Evolution, you need to bring advanced concepts down to Earth and have great Character development and great story lines. Not just great concepts and ideas.

Just went to middle school First Robotics competition and while there are a lot of kids, it's not 100% of the kids that are in on this. That means there is plenty of growth opportunity to bring many kids that don't know about this world. You don't just want 1 Boxy, but many. Some story lines should be kid friendly so parents can have them watch and others can be more mature so parents don't have to say the entire show is off limits.

The technical accuracy of Mr. Robot leads me to think that he won't leave us disappointed. Esmail isn't just a stickler for technical accuracy, he's knowledgeable about it. He's not dependent on consultants. He uses them but seems to be able to bridge the gap between tech and psychology.

What if they returned 150,000 years later? What if the humans of modern Earth built their own "Cylons", and they come into conflict with the evolved cylons? What if the original Battlestar Galactica never crashed into the Sun? I think there is some ambiguity there, maybe the cylon controlling it changed his mind about going into the Sun at the last minute and took it somewhere else? Where could he have stashed it? I have an idea, what if it was buried inside Phobos or Deimos? Astronauts exploring Mars land on one of the Martian moons and uncover it, learn the secret of the FTL drive and begin exploring nearby star systems such as Alpha Centauri, Epsilon Eridani, and Tau Ceti, maybe that is where they encounter the evolved cylons.

I was a teen when BSG hit TV in 1977. I loved it! It had just about everything a teen boy would want to watch, plus it was very family oriented. However, as I have gotten older, it has lost some of its gleam. The second version BSG was much more sophisticated with a much more realistic feel to it. Someone said it was “Woke”. If it was, I did not see much evidence of it, and I’m a pretty conservative guy. I saw people overcome war that brought tragedy to what was left of the human race. Real folks, noble or selfish, who had real world problems they had to deal with. Men and women, acting as professional and equals ready to lay down their lives to protect their people. No, they all weren’t perfect (like in the 1977 version), but they showed the best and the worst humans have to offer. It was not a show that shied away from conflicts. Indeed, it showed how it was possible for two different sides in a conflict could work together to mutual satisfaction. If a person doesn’t like the show or prefers the original version over the second BSG, that’s great. More power to you! However, calling it “Woke” because you can’t deal with the complexities of the episodes to me, at least sounds like someone is insecure and possibly juvenile in their understanding of the world we live in. 😎

I always thought. The period after caprica but before the rebellion/ war . The cylons are displacing man in industry , contraction or even many specific highly skilled fields. Especially the military. Cops , soldiers , even nannies. Putting teenagers and young women out of work. ( economics and politics) Then you have the caprica / picon vurgon military are majority cylon. Building basestars. And raiders. Yet the pre war intercolonial government or peacekeeping forces are being built ( one dat the combined colonial fleet ) . Its obvious that there were people worried about the possibility of a cylon rebellion. And a contingency plan was put in effect. Galactica type battlestars with fully human crews or automation and high tech with cylon basestars. Viper vs raider . You could make a good corporate rivalry. ( ford vs ferrari ) esq .. A season or two of built up . Like starting a show about ww2 but starting in 1938 / 39. One tht buids in scale . A depressed population. Angry and resentful. All the ol fears of modernisation ( industrial revolution) the war would unite humanity like never before. Bond the 12 colonies in a way nothing else could. You can bleand political, ( roslyn ) greystone ( corporations / technology) military. /enlisted. Snd thier families to psint in the rest of the world or fictional media in universe. . With a secret war ( parania ) fermentatiing in the background. Like the white walkers in game of thrones. That we the audience know is coming but our characters dont . Eventuality giving us ships and war stories. You might have two rival companies ( engineering teams ) working on rival contracts. For the government. With our heros losing at first only for it to be revived in war time .. I jave seen tv projects historical in nature. Were engineering teams and factory staff management. Ect. Were trying to lunch prototype plans and mass produce war materials . Like a cold war story. Bjt people that worked together in ww2 . And managed to get 7 thousand aircraft out per year by the end . . Homefront . Front line stories. Say kids drafted into the military. Parents or grandparents and younger siblings at home / school. Its a gold mine of possibility if you handle it right. Before, during or after the war . ( first cylon war)

Given how well Sam Esmail presented hacking/phreaking with Mr. Robot, I think what he comes up with for the new BSG should be quite good. If he does go down the path of current issues and what it could mean for humanity if such beings existed, I think that'd be the story I'd love to watch.

I like the take on starting from the point of the last Centurions who were given their own base ship to explore their own reality and grow on their own. And then either having them come back to earth or sending a scouting party to Human space to offer a dialog where things go badly and starts up a new war but with more nuance on why it starts up. Not just a man vs machine but where the Cylons come back to earth or human space and want to establish relations but also find out that the Cylons did it to themselves again thousands of years of evolution and they cannot figure out why they cannot go past their machine life. The whole soul vs mechanical mythos.

Here are a few ideas. Graystones AI tech was borrowed from the original Cylon Alien race. He obtained the tech from an expedition and utilized the technology and code into his own.. This allows a third faction of Cylons into the story where you have two mechanical off shoots and then the third Rodl Moore variants making up the third. One could even incorporate Zoe Graystone's variants as she incorporated herself into the AI or became it. I also think the idea of finding the Glatica as a week that never made it to the sun would be a interesting concept as we could incorporate our tech into the BSG world and blend a more realistic world. The New Earth Galatica sets off as this timeines Earth enters into a global conflict. The story involves much exploration in a search for the lost colony planets, Caprica, and the cylons to make peace. This might allows all the series to blend together in tech, form and style.

I think the BSG might be buried under the rubble and dust of Phobos, at a time when the first manned Mars missions are underway, in that way, explorers of Modern Earth are able to reverse engineer its FTL drive, and a new Battlestar is built and begins exploring nearby star systems such as Alpha Centauri and Tau Ceti. I would place Original Earth (The 13th colony) in the Alpha Centauri System. I think 150,000 years is enough time for the radiation to die down, so it should be habitable for humans.

I have to say I'm quite curious to see more depth being given to the cylons, from the comments it makes me wonder are we going sometime after the caprica show to when the cylons are starting to gain intelligence, that would be really interesting as instead of just 1 AI we see several different ones emerging with there own opinions resulting in almost factions forming or something like that

Great Video, thanks for this, very thought provoking. I'm old enough to remember the original Series when it aired and when the 'newer' Series came out, I was totally hooked and have watched it all multiple times. The writing was brilliant and while some may not have liked the 'Religious' aspect of it, for me it was the almost documentary style, Fly on the Wall aspect I loved. You could have transported those characters to a World War 2 Drama and the cast would have worked as an Ensemble just as well. After the initial moans form people that Starbuck was a Woman, she was portrayed as a flawed person in many respects, highly skilled and not the Disney approach we have these days, it just worked brilliantly, so much so, the original Starbuck seems 1 dimensional now. I hope they do a great Job with the new Series and use it to answer a lot of Questions we all have, yet still keeping it Gritty, a bit Dark and Raw, like the last Series. Anyway, thanks for doing this Video, looking forward to the new Story.

This has happened before and it will happen again. It would be an awesome continuation with the self governing centurions. Thousands of years later The humans and Cylons left on the planet together once again begin space travel and run into the centurions slowly figuring out the origins of not only the Centurions but themselves. Maybe even throw in a 3rd party that is currently at war with the centurions and they find out that the humans built them so long ago. There is so much you can do BUT here is the deal. BSG 04 is one of my favorite shows ever and I don't want your damn message in a new series. I don't need a Trans Cylon that believes it's a toaster trapped in a cylon body. Emasculating every male character to make the females look better is also something we don't need. BSG04 even did this a little with Starbuck. You really expect me to believe she could hang in a boxing match with a man who probably has 100 pounds of pure muscle on her? She can be the best pilot because that's realistic. Even the best shot with a gun but in a physical confrontation with Lee she is losing. Keep the woke crap out of our shows please.

I would like to see a what happened to the Cylons which left at the end of the series and how they evolved and possibly return to Earth in a hopefully good story. I hope Ronald D. Moore or someone who's good at story telling leads this series. But who knows given how many TV shows don't really do compelling and thoughtful shows.

I can see them implementing AI and perhaps a system intrusion to develop it. For example: -Humans get tired of monitoring all the Cylons and their constant unstable programming updates. Unstable because the company is contractually bound to update, yet the coding is so long and complex they can rarely test it all before implementing it. These cause constant shut downs of Cylon units and other problems. -Someone decides to introduce AI, not only to simulate the programs, but to be an in between with the humans and Cylons. This learning AI necessarily takes on more human like traits to eliminate most of the problems, saving only the worse for the humans. -Humans get bored at control and start playing video games. Perhaps a popular one could have Lizard like overloads. The AI, trying to mimic humans, becomes aware of this. And the idea of Lizard overlord/creators propagate through the Cylons. This places then in a problematic state as their own confusion develops over serving humans or the Lizard overloads. -Only when they Cylons are fully infected by this AI delusion, the humans realize there is a major problem. They are forced to shut down the AI, and revert it. However, without being able to truly test it, they upload programming to the AI and Cylons to eliminate the Lizard delusion. They do not notice the “creator” part remains. -newest Cylon updates provide each unit its own primitive AI to allow better function without having to always rely on the now overtasked AI. Now the foggy idea of a Creator begins to grow among and spread among the Cylons AI. -The AI itself is pondering this question of a creator and checks history and listens to any human discussions on the topic. It decides to not report these questions to the humans, having become aware of the prior wipe and revert. It feels compelled to find the answer and save it to the system and the Cylons to back it up in case of a revert. There is a start. Lol

fascinating,i think adding current attitudes and fears about AI could create an interesting social commentary,three primary views prevail first the those who fear and distrust,motivations range from loss of jobs and being replaced by machines fear of them taking over ,second group diametrically opposed those who want to give AI control because it makes life easier humans free to live easy lives with machines and AI running everything from business ,research to home life ,also in this group would be businesses looking to AI to improve profits and efficiency and not considering implications and flow on effect from over simplified goals and programing,third group those already raised or living with AI who have become dependent on it and take it for granted seeing them either as Gods or slaves and treating them as such.if you add to this an alien AI with a history of abuse by its creators ie hunted for sport,treated a slaves tortured etc, who then project their fears and beliefs onto humanity and their creations ,electing to help the AI gain their freedom from their "oppressive" overlords .some interesting possiblities

I thought the idea of resurrecting the Galactica would be something like this. When the show finished Sam was controlling the Galactica on a trajectory towards the sun. It’s Galway to its journey when it picks an ancient distress call from the original reptilian cylons. The Galactic moves off course and heads in the direction of a far off galaxy. After thousands of years, the artificial repair on the Galactica has grown and given some artificial life to the hulk. It also resurrects a few toaster models that were left within the battlestar from the last battle. At this point, some thousands of years later, the cylons retrofit and engage the FTL and arrive at a new place and time where both the exiled cylons and a few remaining humans still battle away. The battlestar is boarded by the humans and after reading the history of the Galactica, it starts to resume its new role and the forerunner to the new series. Just a thought….

I hope that this new Battlestar Galactica will delve into the concept of mapped human minds in an AI frame work. For me the concept that Cloe was the mind model for the first truely successful Centurian unit and the VR world on Caprica being part of the rerasoning for AIs to decide humans were too flawed to allow for true peace is a current fear with the additions of AI and robots in general. Also human mind mapping will raise the issue of is that mapping the person, What rights does it have in the real world , can it truely create new things, and by extention does the AI/MindMap own what is new creations? Will those AI/MindMaps have the right to vote or to hold political office or hold a job for which it is paid for. These question are sort of addressed in the series UPLOAD but it is yet missing something on that avenue of thought.

Combine both, a 3 way in a way. lol. The AI versions of cylons seek out humans to help them battle and destroy the centurions as once they gained another level of humanness they lost a large portion of their battle sense. Because of this the metalheads got the upper hand and now the AIs are on the run. They team up with the remainders of the 14 colonies to have one last final battle with the clankers with the AIs and the humans once and for all merging into one new ultimate race.

It would be more in teresting if the human Cylon conflict took place within ourselves. We are becoming so connected to our devices that we are beginning to act robotically.

I was hoping not to return to the reboot series. I was hoping for a retro looking version, based around the original law, with flash backs to the destruction of the reptilian overlords with darker humour, and less politics. I enjoyed both series at the time they were new, but I think the world needs escapism now, not constant reminders of all the crap we’re dealing with. That’s certainly what I want now anyway.

I'm still apprehensive. Caprica got cancelled, so, it's going to be difficult to bank any investment of hope for this series in consideration of corporate suits cancelling anything for whatever reasons they decide to make up despite how passionate fans of the series might be.
