Never smelled the extrait but the original gave me zero cherry. I just smell luxury root beer but I’m not mad about it.

Omg I had the same thoughts as you. I love the original because of the cherry cola scent and i was going to return the extrait but then I thought let me layer them and see what happens and OMG its stunning layered. I get the benefits of the cherry cola scent I love from the original and the longevity from the extrait. You have try it. It’s so good.

This is *so* helpful. Rouge Smoking is one of my very favorite perfumes from the House of BDK and otherwise, and this sounds like a more masculine flanker (as opposed to simply an extrait de parfum). I loved your objective review and definitely think I will pass on this one.

I do really enjoy my sample of Rouge Smoking, I like that cola vibe it has- but I also do like woodier types of fragrances, maybe I’d like both! I just tried their Extrait version of Gris Charnel and I much prefer the Extrait with that woodiness. Thanks for the review, super helpful! 🙏❤️

I really like the new extrait. I agree they are quite different. Also, I own all three BDK extraits and prefer each extrait over the original. Fun that different noses can prefer different scents.

Being in the UK, I was able to order a sample and get it a few days after its release. I'm not a huge fan of the original but hoped the extrait would be better. I really don't like the extrait version, too masculine for me.

Jackie, thank you for this review 💛 I was very late to the game, felt that Rouge Smoking was probably overhyped and wasn’t interested in sampling it, thinking smelling like cherry cola wasn’t my thing. Finally a friend gave me a sample and OMG what a pleasant surprise. I loved it from the first sniff and ordered a full bottle right away ❤ It is lovely, a true compliment magnet!

I feel like the extrait could have been it's own fragrance. I do not like it.i wish like you said they would have done an amped of version of the og.the leather,oud and patchouli just ruin it for me.hardly any tonka in this one also and the cherry didn't last as long.😮

Jackie 😍, love the matching look .... had a decant of the OG , used it up and really like the fragrance just haven't upgraded to a fb yet and when the notes to this were revealed it just didn't sound like it would be feminine enough , even though I do wear unisex , just wasn't probably for me and thank you 🙏 for confirming it's probably not my type 😊 if I upgrade it'll be the OG 🍒🍒

You look so gorgeous in that red Jackie! ❤✨ I love the OG Rouge Smoking - I think it smells like a bad-a woman with cherry red lips drinking a coke (totally get the cola vibe too from it like you!). But my husband hated it and thought it smelled like cigarettes. 😂 So it never went on my wishlist. Oh well. I still think it’s amazing!

They work well layered! You loose some of the cola accord and get a more ambery base. It does give the original more longevity. That’s how I am wearing it. Original Rouge Smoking is one my favourites ❤
