Yea, I have a bunch of my uncle working on these type of boat in New Bedford, but most of them are kind of fuk up in the head. As for help, your on your own. Most of them don’t want you fresh hungry newcomer coming to take their jobs. They make $10,000 to $20,000 per trip out, usually 9 days to 12 days I almost got hired a few time but they ain’t gonna give you anything, you got to go be annoying and strong you can do it. You got to know the captain and get on his good side, and he got to now that your not gonna fuk up the crew. Got to get along. But with all this crazy fast money, some build up some bad habits like, porn and strip club, drugs, alcoholism, and for me worst is, comparing how they are better than you.

I myself have been trying for 10 yrs and can barely get a crew to let me lump.....closest I have gotten was a friend who effing overdosed the day before...something needs to be done there's almost no new blood on those docks.

I love how there's no info or anything on how to become a fisherman.....nobody talks about the fact that unless your related or have experience without every even going .....that it's impossible to get on any of these boats .....pretty sad for people who want to fish in new bedford.
